Guiding Principles for Downtown Public Facilities 1. Maintain the town s sense of community and complement the historic nature of downtown. 2. Retain a civic presence in downtown Davidson that is easily accessible to citizens. 3. Provide a sustainable parking solution for the long-term. 4. Provide space for community functions and governmental needs in a cost-effective manner. 5. Enhance pedestrian connectivity through the site and improve public amenities, open space, and event areas. 6. Expand the retail experience on Main Street.

Public Workshop I Presentation Facilitated Exercise There are 6 different stations to visit: Station 1 What Makes Davidson Great Station 2 Architectural Character and Scale Station 3 Town Hall Site Planning Options Station 4 Parking and Mobility Station 5 Outdoor Civic Space Needs Station 6 Civic Space Needs Pick up a passport at the table and get it stamped at each station. If you complete all stations drop your passport in the basket and one winner will be drawn to receive a gift card to the Village Store
Public Workshop I Goals What makes Davidson Special to you? How do you access downtown? How is the scale of downtown formed by buildings? Which Town Hall planning option do you prefer? How should parking needs be addressed? What type of outdoor public spaces would you like to see downtown? What type of public spaces inside the new Town Hall would you like to see?
Public Workshop I Boards Almost every board is designed to receive your feedback in one of two ways Placing a green or red dot in a designated location to share your opinion. Green dots indicate a positive response and red dots indicate a negative response. Placing a sticky note in a designated location with your comments. Verbal directions are located on the board. A design team member will be at each station to answer questions
