Marijuana Buffer Requirements elementary school; secondary school; or playground. 1000 feet*+ (State law req. that cannot be reduced) correctional facilities; court houses drug rehab. centers; or detoxification centers. 1000 feet+ (Tacoma regulations could be reduced) child care center; game arcade; library; public park; public transit center; or recreation center or facility. 1000 feet*+ (State law req. could be reduced to 100 ) *The uses are defined in the Washington Administrative Code section 314-55-010. +Distances are measured from any lot line of property on which any of the listed uses are located or proposed to be located. The buffer requirements are intended to balance the public, health, safety and welfare interests in having sufficient areas within which these activities may locate and prevent concentration of these activities in any one area.
