Districtwide Security Camera Upgrades The project will take the existing multiple security camera systems currently used throughout the District and replace them with a single integrated Districtwide, internet protocol (IP) based security camera system. Existing analog cameras on every campus, including the District Office, will be removed and replaced with high definition cameras, along with the infrastructure needed to support them. These high definition cameras are capable of capturing quality daytime and nighttime footage. New cameras will be placed in locations that were previously difficult to monitor. Camera footage will be streamed real-time to a Command Center Console and monitor wall at the District Office. Every ESUHSD site will be affected by this project. Installation is anticipated to occur at multiple sites simultaneously. Delivery Method: Design-Bid-Build Swimming Pool Upgrades This project reconstructs the swimming pool complexes and infrastructure including pool pumps, motors, water heaters, filtration and disinfection systems. The new pools will be highly energy efficient and will enhance the high school aquatic programs to include physical education, recreation swimming, competitive swimming, water polo and diving at James Lick, Mt. Pleasant, William C. Overfelt, Piedmont Hills, Silver Creek, Santa Teresa and Yerba Buena High Schools. Delivery Method: Design-Build Energy Efficiency Project Energy services contract to implement energy conservation measures whose cost will be outweighed by net savings. Energy conservation measures under investigation are expansion of solar PVs and interior and exterior lighting retrofits. This project is being funded by Proposition 39 Clean Energy Jobs Act; funds are being dispersed in fiscal years 2013-14 through 2017-18. Utility incentives will be an additional minor funding source for this project. Delivery Method: Energy Service Contract Mechanical, Electrical and Controls Equipment Upgrades Replacement of aged mechanical, electrical and controls equipment that have reached the end of their service lives with modern equipment that meets Title 24 energy efficiency code requirements. Delivery Method: Design-Bid-Build Roof Replacements Replacement of roofs that have reached the end of their service lives, starting with the roofs in the worst condition at James Lick, Mt. Pleasant, and William C. Overfelt High Schools. Delivery Method: Design-Bid-Build

Districtwide Door Replacements Replacement of exterior doors that have reached the end of their service lives, at Andrew P. Hill, James Lick, Mt. Pleasant, Piedmont Hills, Silver Creek, and William C. Overfelt High Schools. Delivery Method: Design-Bid-Build Wi-Fi 2 Expansion of wireless internet access at campuses, including athletic fields and areas that have been limited instructional areas in the past due to the lack of internet access. Infrastructure installed in this project will provide a platform for future projects. Delivery Method: Design-Bid-Build Backend Computer System Upgrade Delivery of a modernized private cloud solution for the District s servers. Servers will be virtualized to provide a lower cost, more energy efficient, more reliable and flexible solution. Delivery Method: Design-Bid-Build Fire Alarm Modernization A comprehensive study and assessment of fire alarm systems at all school sites was done in 2013-2014. The scope of this project includes simple addition of a device to an existing system to a complete modernization of a fire alarm system. Every ESUHSD site including the Education Center is expected to receive some form of improvements through this project. Delivery Method: Design-Build

DBE submitted geotechnical / geohazard reports for Phase 1 to California Geologic Survey agency in September. Review is in progress. Construction documents for Phase 1 were submitted to Santa Clara County Health Department. Review is in progress. Phase 2 construction documents are scheduled to be submitted to the District for review in mid-october. Construction documents will concurrently be submitted to DSA for review. Energy Efficiency Project CM team, Facilities team and consultants from Opterra attended a kick off meeting in September. During the meeting, the scope of work, the projected schedule for design, procurement and construction, contract administration, contract requirements, safety and coordination topics were reviewed. Mechanical, Electrical and Controls Equipment Upgrades RFP for electrical and mechanical design services was issued in September. Contract award is scheduled to be recommend to the Board of Trustees at November board meeting. HVAC retrofit will be done in two phases. Phase 1 will be at ST. Phase 2 will be at AH, IH, JL, OG, PH, SC, WCO, and FH. Bid documents for Santa Teresa HVAC retrofit were issued in September. Contract will be awarded in November. Roof Replacements RFP for Engineering Design Services is in development and is expected to be issued in October. Contract award is scheduled to be recommend to the Board of Trustees at December board meeting. Four bid packages totaling approximately $6.4 million of construction will be prepared and issued for bid in Spring 2016. Construction is scheduled to begin in Summer 2016. Door Replacements Construction bid documents are in development.

Districtwide Wi-Fi 2 This project has three phases: A, B, C. Phase A replaced all existing network access points and two new core controllers for the new network. Phase B added access points to all classrooms that previously did not have an access point, which was approximately 50% of all classrooms. Phase C will provide wireless access in the areas outside the classrooms to blanket the entire campus in wireless access including, but not limited to, sports fields and parking lots. Phases A and B are complete. Staff training in the use of the new software and controllers was completed in September. Phase C began in September and is expected to be completed in late November. Backend Computer System Upgrades Private cloud storage, supporting software and power systems, for new virtualized servers have been installed and set up. The project will provide the computing and storage capacity to meet the District s current and anticipated needs for servers (compute power) and local document management and storage for the next 5 years. Replacement of core server and storage with new units is 80% complete. The adoption process for document management has begun and IT expects to extend selected system into January for adoption and installation. IT is planning to upgrade Cisco VoIP servers late September through early October in addition to upgrading Windows Active Directory servers from Windows 2003 to Windows 2012. Fire Alarm Modernization Request for Qualifications for Design Build Entities (DBE) was issued in late August. Submitted qualifications are under review by the District to short-list 3 DBEs. The RFP for DBEs is in development. Interface Engineering is preparing the technical fire alarm design criteria to be included in the RFP. The RFP will be issued to the shortlisted DBEs to solicit proposals to design and construct the project. Independence High School Retrofit Panels A PG&E brown out caused the aged fire alarm system panels at Independence to malfunction beyond repair. Installation of retrofit equipment by Intrepid Electric Systems Inc. is in progress. Interface Engineering, who is already on the Fire Alarm Modernization project creating the criteria documents, is overseeing the installation at Independence. Testing and certification of existing fiber network was completed in September. Preliminary system testing and device testing is scheduled to commence in early October and continue for 4-6 weeks.
