Product Data Sheet PDS 71-EDS880/1/rev.A August 2006 Model EDS880/1 High Pressure Conductivity Monitor COMPLETE SYSTEM FOR THE DETERMINATION OF CONDUCTIVITY IN HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEMS SENSOR INSTALLS DIRECTLY IN HIGH PRESSURE LINES AND VESSELS NO O-RING SEALS. All welded construction with zirconium oxide insulator FEATURE-PACKED ANALYZER WITH DUAL OUTPUTS, three fully programmable alarm relays and dedicated fault alarm, bright three-line display, and optional HART and PID and TPC control APPLICATIONS The Model EDS880/1 is a high pressure conductivity sensor intended for applications where the use of a reducedpressure sidestream sample is impractical. The Model EDS880/1 sensor is used with the Model 54eC conductivity analyzer. FEATURES The Model EDS880/1 sensor is suitable for direct installation in high pressure (up to 2880 psig) lines and vessels. Rugged all-welded construction there are no O-rings ensures long life. The sensor insertion length is adjustable; however, once the length has been set, it cannot be changed. The sensor has a detachable cable, so there is no need to rerun cable when the sensor is replaced. Conductivity depends on temperature. Variations in sample temperature alter the conductivity even though the concentration of dissolved salts causing the conductivity remains constant. A Pt 1000 RTD in the sensor allows the analyzer to automatically correct for temperature related conductivity changes. The user can select among three temperature correction algorithms. The Model 54eC analyzer has a rugged NEMA4X weatherproof, corrosion-resistant enclosure suitable for panel, pipe, or wall mounting. A large, backlit, three-line dot matrix display continuously indicates conductivity, temperature, and two user-selectable process parameters, such as alarm setpoint or diagnostic variables. Menu screens are simple and intuitive and are available in English, Spanish, German, Italian, or French. Two independent isolated outputs provide either a 0-20 ma or 4-20 ma output. Outputs are fully programmable. The controller option allows PID control acting on conductivity or temperature. Three fully programmable process alarms are standard. One relay is a dedicated fault alarm to alert the user to an instrument or sensor fault or failure. The TPC option allows any programmable alarm relay to be used for Time Proportional Control. The Model 54eC is a member of the Rosemount SMART FAMILY 1 of instruments.
