Model FPODEXD-XJLGCHN4X provides intrinsically safe circuits for use in Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C, and D Hazardous Locations when installed in accordance with manufacturer s control drawing no. IS 6095. GENERAL: Model FPODEXD-XJLGCHN4X is a permanently mounted flow meter consisting of an explosion-proof enclosure containing a PCB with LCD mounted on an internal chassis, an IS barrier, and a communication interface connected to sensor model ULCOVERXA, followed by two single digit numbers. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Installation Instructions are provided with each device and shall include the following: 1. The supply voltage shall not exceed 36 V dc, and The supply must be isolated from mains voltage by double/reinforced insulation 2. Intended use of the equipment, technical specifications including the supply voltage and power or current rating and a description of all input and output connections, instructions for use, name and address of manufacturer or supplier from whom technical assistance may be obtained 3. A statement of the range of environmental conditions for which the equipment is designed 4. Assembly, location and mounting requirements, instruction for protective earthing, field wiring size, type, tightening torque and recommended strip length 5. That a switch or circuit-breaker shall be included in the building installation, and a recommendation that the switch or circuit breaker used as the disconnect be located near the equipment 6. Instructions for interconnection to accessories and other equipment 7. If the display (explosion-proof enclosure) needs to be mounted away from the meter care should be taken when routing the armored cable. The cable should be fixed (clamped) within 20 in. (500 mm) of the glands (both meter and enclosure) to support and maintain the integrity of the seal. After installation these seals should be visually checked for damage. The cable length will not exceed 33 feet (10 m). CONSTRUCTION DETAILS: General The device is constructed in accordance with the following figures, illustrations and descriptive pages. Dimensions are approximate unless specifically indicated otherwise. Spacings Where affecting intrinsic safety, spacings have been evaluated and found to be in accordance with Table 8.1 in UL 913, Fifth Edition.

Clearances were evaluated and determined to comply with the requirements outlined in Table 5 of UL 61010-1. Creepage distances were evaluated and determined to comply with the requirements outlined in Table 7 or UL 61010-1. Internal Wiring Unless otherwise indicated, all internal wiring is R/C (AVLV2) rated 300 V, 100ºC minimum, and 24 AWG minimum with minimum insulation thickness of 0.25 mm. The complete assembly consists of an explosion-proof enclosure containing a 2-line LCD, temperature transmitter, F-Lin PCB, internal chassis, and IS barrier; along with a flow meter sensor connected via a cable, with a maximum length of 10 m. 1. Enclosure Listed (FTRV) enclosure manufactured by Adalet-PLM Fetzer Co., Cat. No. XJLGCHN4X. Overall dimensions of 6 5/32in.H by 7in.W by 7 in.d. The enclosure is provided with a 4 in. diameter window and two 3/4 in. NPT conduit entries. The enclosure is suitable for an ambient temperature of -20ºC to +60ºC. All unused conduit entries shall be filled with a UL Listed (EBNV) Plugs suitable for at least the same class and groups as indicated under the product covered and with at least five (5) full threads engaged. Cable contains three (one cut back) Recognized (AVLV2) 14 gauge, Type XHHW-2 copper insulated conductors. Rated 600 V. 10. Flow Meter Sensor Housing may vary, only contains reed switch. Marked with the following nomenclature: ULCOVERXAYY, where YY may be any two digit number, varying with the housing.
