Professional and Excel provide a wide selection of the highest quality water-soluble fertilisers available Why choose Peters? 1. Peters takes into account water quality 2. Peters leads the way technically and is of the highest quality 3. Only Peters fertilisers contain M-77 You can choose the right Peters formulation for your water hard, neutral or soft. Peters has high levels of purity and solubility. The Peters fertiliser range uses the proprietary M-77 ingredient which provides maximum certainty that the nutrients end up where needed in the plant. The result is fast response following application and a perfect crop. Peters Professional Free flowing (non-caking) formulas Scotts innovation has resulted in the Peters range being more free flowing and less likely to cake, without reducing solubility. High purity fertilisers Peters fertilisers are manufactured from high grade technical quality materials with a high safety factor. Under normal rates of application, there is virtually no risk of burning crops. Completely soluble Even at abnormally high concentrations, Peters fertilisers are 100% soluble and crystal clear with no undissolved material to clog lines or emitters. Peters stays in solution and will not precipitate out over time. Exclusive chelating formula Our exclusive M-77 formula added to Peters Professional formulations assures that, the NPK plus trace elements all remain available to the crop due to enhanced solubility and availability. Low salinity Peters fertilisers contain no excess salts such as chlorine, carbonates or sulphates. The result is a high rate of feed with low salt levels. Completely available trace elements Mainly chelated trace elements are used in Peters Professional formulations. This ensures full availability to the crop through roots or leaves and prevents precipitation in tanks and lines. There are 3 levels of trace elements: Winter Grow for soilless media, Allrounder for soil containing media and see table notations on page 2.23 for specific crops. A wide range of formulations A Peters product is available for extensive general use to crop specific formulations. Technical information Unprecedented levels of technical information and Australia s own field staff and technical services department provide product support. Laboratory tested and quality controlled Peters fertilisers are tested and quality controlled by our in-house commercial testing laboratory so you can be confident you will receive the highest quality product time after time. 2.20

Peters Excel Water quality plays an important part in the choice of the best water soluble fertiliser. That is why Scotts introduced Peters Excel, the right solution for hard and soft water. Peters Excel is made of the purest raw materials and contains NPK, all trace elements and unique patented water quality improvement properties. Water Quality Bicarbonate Level Soft Water <100 ppm HCO 3 Hard Water >100 ppm HCO 3 Peters Excel CalMag for soft water and calcium demanding crops As calcium is not found in normal water soluble fertilisers, Peters Excel CalMag will add calcium to soft water. This particularly suits plants with high calcium needs. e.g. bedding plants and plugs. Benefits of Peters Excel CalMag for soft water: Less labour and chance of error by avoiding alternating fertilisation with calcium products Maintain NPK balance through only one nutrient application Complete feeding from one tank mix, only simple fertigation equipment needed Growing power through 100% solubility No residue on plants because of 100% solubility Clean irrigation system Peters Excel Hard Water Grow Water with high bicarbonate levels (hard water), of above 100ppm bicarbonate, causes water system blockages and reduces the uptake of nutrients by the plant. One traditional way of dealing with this problem has been acid dosing. This results in a high capital cost requirement and the use of hazardous chemicals. It also upsets the NPK balance. Now, with Peters Excel Hard Water Grow you can improve hard water quality at the same time as feeding with an easy and safe to use soluble fertiliser. Bicarbonate levels are significantly reduced avoiding build-up in the potting mix. All nutrients remain available to the crop, giving better colour and. Benefits of Peters Excel Hard Water Grow for hard water Eliminates the need for separate acid dosing All nutrients are available at the same time maintaining NPK balance Operators are not exposed to hazardous chemicals One tank mix: only simple fertigation equipment needed Growing power through 100% solubility No residue on plants because of 100% solubility Clean irrigation system Only Peters fertilisers contain M-77 M-77 is an important component in Peters. This Scotts innovation optimises the availability and absorbability of all nutrients elements according to the principle: it s not just about what you offer a plant; it is primarily about what the plant absorbs. The strength and formulation of M-77 is a combination of ingredients. The effects of these ingredients ensure that nutrients remain available to the plant and optimise absorption. The combined actions of good availability of nutrients and optimum conditions directly around the roots make M-77 an indispensable component. M-77 unlocks the roots, increasing the effectiveness of the nutrients. You can see the effects in your plants! Only Peters fertilisers contain M-77. 2.21

Product selection guide Following is some helpful information that will assist you to select the correct formulations for your crop. The table on page 2.24 narrows down the choice of a Peters product for various crops and stages of. Regulating This can be achieved in two basic ways: Adjust the N:K ratio an N:K ratio of 2:1 will encourage foliage. A ratio of 1:1.5 will produce a squatter, hardier plant Total rate of addition a rate of 1.5 g/l will produce much faster and lusher than will 0.75g/L Choosing nitrogen source The Peters range gives you a choice of the percentage mix of nitrogen sources (nitrate, ammonium and urea) Greenhouse potted crops a higher nitrate source with little or no urea is preferred (e.g. Pot Plant, Winter Grow ) Foliar feeding high urea will allow nitrogen uptake through the leaves (e.g. Foliar Feed) Outside potted and in-ground crops a blend of the three nitrogen forms gives good performance (e.g. Allrounder) Summer crops all three forms are good. A higher urea content is easily tolerated (e.g. Allrounder) Winter crops higher nitrate nitrogen preferred. Little or no urea should be used (e.g. Pot Plant, Winter Grow ) 2.22 Growth stage variants Young plants higher P for good root development and moderate N and K Vegetative growing stage higher N to encourage with moderate P and K Finishing higher K to harden and winterise foliage of trees and shrubs and to encourage flowering. Moderate N and P Foliar feeding to apply through spray equipment mix Peters Foliar Feed at 3g/L. If mixed with pesticides, trial on a small area first. Do not mix Peters with copper fungicides, bactericides, chlorothalonil, methomyl (Lannate ), mineral oils, dinitro products or Aliette In combination with Osmocote If potting media or soil contains Osmocote, use Peters at 60% of recommended rate and reduce Osmocote to 70% of normal recommended rate. Trial first A small trial to verify you are using the correct product at the correct rate to give the desired response is recommended. The use of symbols in the Peters range gives you useful information about the application for which the product is most suitable. These symbols appear on the bag. promotes root encourages vegetative encourages compact, controlled The use of this product will bring about a stable ph level in the substrate is intended to provide NPK and calcium in a single solution is intended for use in soft water encourages bud formation and development has been developed for foliar feeding is particularly suitable for use in combination with single fertilisers can be used in water of any quality is intended for use in hard water Indicates the EC value in ms at 1.0gram/litre
