Operating Instructions Grind Table Series (DDG xxxx)

WARNINGS Never allow any unauthorized or untrained person to operate this machine. Lockout and tag out anytime maintenance is performed on this machine. Never open any door while machine is running. Maintain at least ¼ to ½ of water in the water tray at all times while in use. Disconnect all power before servicing. NEVER GRIND OR SAND ANY ALUMINUM OR MAGNESIUM PRODUCT ON THIS MACHINE Warranty Information This machine is covered with a 12 month warranty. The warranty covers the replacement of parts, except filters. Dynamo will not cover the cost of labor for repair work, unless the work is done by Dynamo at Dynamo s Facility. In this case, shipping of the unit is the responsibility of the customer (owner of the machine) both ways. Otherwise, you may contact your Dynamo dealer to discuss local repair options. Dynamo assumes or accepts no responsibility more than the cost of the machine. In the case of repair, Dynamo will decide either to fix or replace the product. Dynamo reserves the right to modify or change the design of this and any model of their machines, without changing or updating any previous manufactured machine. Warranty will not cover any damage done by fire or any other act of nature or if abuse or improper maintenance was or was not performed.

Filter Maintenance The filters are the primary maintenance obligation. The cleaner the filters are, the better the machine will perform. This unit comes equipped with a pulse-cleaning cartridge filtration system, which makes cleaning the filters easy. If you have an auto-cleaning timer installed (optional), this cleaning may be done automatically at a preset time interval (see below for more information). Otherwise, manual cleaning should be conducted 3-5 times per hour of work. Connecting the Air Source A clean compressed air source of 100-140 PSI (follow the label if different) should be connected to the machine in order for the pulse-cleaning system to work. Manual Cleaning Procedure To clean the filters manually, push the manual filter cleaning button (the white and black buttons on the side of the machine) and wait at least 10 seconds before pulsing again so tank can refill. This manual procedure needs to be done 3-5 times per hour if the machine is not equipped with timers to activate automatically. The filters will clean better with the machine turned off. For best performance, shut the machine off and before it slows to a complete stop, pulse the filter. This allows the fan to prevent the dust from exiting the filter compartment. NOTE: If you pulse after the fan has come to a complete stop, it may blow dust back into the work area. Filter Cleaning Timers (optional on some units, standard on others)

If this machine is equipped with timers to clean the filter, a pulse of air will be released into the filter after the set number of minutes. The time between pulses is adjustable; please refer to the electrical diagram for settings information. WARNING: If the time between pulses is set too far apart, the filter may plug up, reducing the machine s performance. Filter Replacement Please replace your filter with a filter of the same model # (as listed on the inside of the filter door). Dynamo offers competitively priced filter replacements, and can assist you with your replacement filter needs. If for some reason, you are not getting the expected performance or life from your filter, we may want to replace the filter with one composed of a material better suited for your application. Please call and discuss your needs with a Dynamo expert: (800) 878-5030. Regarding the Water Pan and Dust Drawer The water pan (depicted below) is designed to hold a small amount of water to help extinguish hot sparks and cinders to help prevent filter fires. Because the air flow passes over the water pan, heavy sparks will fall into the pan. Therefore, it is essential to keep ¼ ½ of water in the pan at all times (when the machine is in use). The pieces that do not stop in the pan will continue down the second baffle (halfway down the filter) before they can come in contact with the filter again. The dust drawer should be cleaned regularly, as needed.

Pulse Cleaning System Moisture Drain Valve Moisture should be drained from the tank on a daily basis. There s no need to drain the air in order to drain the moisture. Simply crack the valve and the air will push out the moisture from the tank. 150 PSI Pressure Relief Valve This is a ¼ NPT male thread pressure relief valve. If you have air leaking from the tank area, this is the first place to check. Valve Solenoid This 120 Volt Solenoid activates the valve that releases the air which cleans the filters. It is attached to the machine by a clip, and also attached to an electrical plug on one end by a screw. Compression Nuts These hold the valve to the tank. Always apply a small amount of grease or oil to the threads when reassembling to the tank.

Switch and Gauge Guide Machine On Button (Green) Press this button to turn the machine on. Machine Off Button (Red) Press this button to turn the machine off. Motor Reset Button (Blue) Press this button to reset the motor. Manual Filter Cleaning Buttons (White and Black) Press this button to manually clean the filter. This button may be pressed when machine is or is not on (see Filter Maintenance section above for more information). Magnehelic Gauge (optional) The magnehelic gauge will tell you when to replace and/or deep clean your filters by comparing the needle on the dial to the gauge sticker on the side of the unit. Blue is the normal operating range, whereas a red range reading indicates that the filter needs to be removed and given a deep cleaning with a blow nozzle, blowing from the inside out. If this red reading persists or becomes too frequent, it is time to replace the filters.
