Girard Equipment s DOT-407 vent is a stainless steel, pressure actuated unit that is engineered to limit excessive internal pressure to the tank test pressure. The flow rate of the vent is large enough to provide all the required pressure relief of virtually every DOT-407, DOT-412, MC-307, or MC-312 tank. Equipped with teflon encapsulated o- rings, these vents offer a bubble-tight seal with complete chemical resistance. The entire vent is designed to be easily removed from the tank vehicle for inspection and/or cleaning. The vent is available with different connection options as well as pressure settings. All the benefits of the 400 series vents are yours without expensive hot-work. Flow rates are slightly less than standard 4 DOT407 vents, but are more than sufficient for most tank trailers. See table below for specific flow rates. The stainless steel valve seat seals on a Teflon encapsulated silicon O ring. This o ring provides complete chemical resistance and a bubble tight seal to meet the latest DOT requirements. The unit also meet the surge requirements of 178.345-10 (b) (3). TANK VENTING - CHEMICAL - SECTION ONE FUNCTION The new ultra low-profile Magnetic Vacuum Breaker is a valve design to limit negative pressure (vacuum) in a typical tank trailer. The unit employs the already popular New Generation design, which can be disassembled, cleaned and repaired without the need for special tools. A permanent magnetic force controls the movement of the valve poppet caused by road vibration to open only on demand of 4 Hg or greater. All working parts are kept away from the airflow paths, which promotes easy cleaning and hassle free repairs. This model has a 3 NPS swivel connection and stands less than 4 when installed ona typical tank nozzle making it easy to install under already existing overturn protection. Customers interested in purchasing the older MC307 style 3MVB should consider this new model, which is lower in cost and will provide an increased flow rate over the 3MVB. 1-6
