PARAMOUNT COURT /// CORRIDOR LIGHTING WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT TO CREATE MOOD & LIFT THE CORRIDORS - VISUALS ILLUSTRATING ROUTE 1 PALETTE CEILING LIGHTING It may prove too expensive to do an ornate feature ceiling all the way along the corridors, so there could be an inverse shadow gap with inexpensive LED lighting to create a glow along the main length of the corridor. SOFT INVERSE SHADOW GAP In the vestibule area near the lifts, there could be a more ornate stepped ceiling feature, again featuring an inverse shadow gap light creating a glow around the centre edge of the cornicing.
Corridor Columns The columns found on the 4th floor have also had a steamliner Deco stepped detailing added to them to disguise the boxing in. The stepped column curves into the coving detail (side elevation detail below). Stepped detailing to apartment door frame Stepped detailing to column nibs (left) in graduated paint shades existing nib size Stepped skirting
PARAMOUNT COURT /// STAIRWELL DOORS - DESIGN IDEAS TO HARMONISE WITH THE NEW FIRE DOORS Stair Doors Copper kick plate and flat flush door handles DOUBLE DOORS A design close to our corridor doors with multi-pane top glazed panels and flush copper push plates. Other corridor doors for example at the ends of corridors and service doors would follow a similar style. In this design we have made the lower panels plain not glazed as the view beyond in the stairwell is not the hero, but keeping enough glazing for light Bearing in mind the design for the other fire doors, we have played with different combinations of door handles - flush and raised but decided for the stairwell doors flush handles will be more practical - In terms of glazing we have proposed a version matching the multi-panels of the other fire doors
Carpet Runner We have added a shot of honeyed Deco yellow to the edge of the carpet from the Colour Palette of Route 1 The carpet colour is from the same family as the wallpaper for practicality & wear & tear The decorative chair rug can be lighter as it will get less use CARPET & RUGS
