General key points - 9 integrated plans following a similar procedure - Initiated by the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, now Civil Protection Agency - Co-funded by the EC - Smooth procedure, well structured, with external experts and internal project managers - Duration: 3-4 years - Costs: 250.000-850.000 - Technical studies and reports: 59-75 % of the budget - Public involvement and engagement: 18-29 % of the budget - Programme of measures: achievement & implementation - Problem in the phase of implementation;

Good reasons - Specific for the river basin - Interdisciplinary approach, adaptation to stakeholders demands - Efficiencies, networking for synergies - Flood prevention - Transparency through information exchange - Awareness, social acceptance, agreement through planned participation, consensus based decision making process. - Sustainability, continuity
