1. Warning Please read the instructions carefully. It s absolutely forbidden to make any alteration to the product. The technical data reported on the identification label outside the enclosure must be observed. Make sure the enclosure has not been damaged. If necessary, use only original M.A.M. spare parts. For the external connections use only cable gland certified ATEX/IECEx. Entries not used must be plugged with ATEX/IECEx certified plugs. The installation and maintenance must be carried out in accordance with IEC 60079-14 and IEC 60079-17 or in accordance with the national requirements. These enclosures must be installed and used only by qualified personnel, having knowledge concerning electrical equipment for potentially explosive areas containing gas and/or dust. Qualified personnel must have knowledge regarding the types of explosion protection. The local national safety and accident prevention standard must be followed. Before installing the cover ensure that there are no furrow or scratches that affect the flatness of the joint between body and cover. After each opening of the cover, restore the anti-corrosion grease that does not harden with ageing and without solvent on lamination joints to ensure the degree of protection IP66. If installed in zone 21 and 22 (dust) dust accumulation on the enclosure must be absolutely avoided so as to prevent build-up of dust to surface (thickness <5mm). The internal and external hearting must be connected before being switched on. Minimum section allowed 4 mm2, or at least equal to the active conductor. The mounting screws between body and cover must be tightened completely, in the event of replacements use screws of quality A2-70 or better e.g. 12.9 DIN912. IS-EJB-A-14 rev.0 pag. 9/14

2. Description The enclosures EJB series for command, control, signaling and/or automation are available in various sizes, from EJB01 to EJB10. The enclosures from EJB 01 to EJB 06 for group IIB+H2 can be equipped with inspection rectangular windows in tempered glass of various sizes. The enclosures are made of aluminum primary alloy for groups IIB+H2 and IIIC or in stainless steel for groups I, IIB+H2 and IIIC. EJB enclosures, complete with accessories may contain electrical and electronic equipment of various kinds. 3. Standards applied The enclosures are manufactured in accordance with Directive ATEX94/9/EC, IECEx scheme and the following standards: EN 60079-0 : 2012 IEC 60079-0 : 2011 EN 60079-1 : 2007 IEC 60079-1 : 2007 EN 60079-11 : 2012 IEC 60079-11 : 2011 EN 60079-31 : 2014 IEC 60079-31 : 2013 4. 9. Special conditions In accordance with D.3.10 and D.3.5 of IEC/EN 60079-1 the following conditions will be met: Devices which create turbulence, oil-filled circuit-breakers and contactors will not be incorporated. No, holes whether for mechanical or electrical purposes, and whether blind or clear, shall be drilled in the enclosure other than those permitted and intended by the Officine Meccaniche M.A.M. on the descriptive documents. The certification label with indelible characters is mounted outside the enclosure, can be made of metal and is fixed to the enclosure with rivets or adhesive in polyester (S< 20cm 2 ). During the installation will be maintained a distance of minimum 30 mm between the flanged joint of the enclosure and all solid obstacles. In case the enclosure is re-painted, the thickness of paint is to be less than 0.2 mm to avoid electrostatic risk. The dimensions of the flameproof joints are superior to the value specified in tables of the standard IEC/EN 60079-1. For more information, contact M.A.M. The gap between the cover and the body of the enclosure is less or equal to 0,02 mm. The enclosure with cover without window can be used in the low ambient temperature of -20 C or -50 C. The enclosures with window cover can be used in the low ambient temperature of - 20 C. If installed in zone 21 and 22 (dust) dust accumulation on the enclosure must be absolutely avoided so as to prevent build-up of dust to surface (thickness <5mm). Additional conditions for group I : For installation, the user will take into account that this equipment underwent only an impact test corresponding to an energy of a low risk.
