During her studies, she worked on urban projects for the municipality of Maastricht, various museums, cultural institutions and the Service Science Factory, where she also studied service design. In 2013, she obtained her master s degree (cum laude) in urban geography at King's College London, with a dissertation on crowdfunding in urban development. After her studies, she worked at King's as a project manager for an internal investigation into the sustainability of education. Janne is working on numerous social and urban innovations with an interdisciplinary background, from programming to philosophy. In 2014, she participated in the Nationale DenkTank (National Think Tank) on the social potential of Big Data. She developed solutions to improve mobility and infrastructure in the Netherlands by means of big data. She prefers to work in an international environment and has led heritage and spatial projects in among other countries Bhutan, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Turkey and China. In February 2015, she joined the team at BLOC.

Every year 20 talented master students, doctoral students and recent graduates consider a social issue. In 2014, the main question was, "How can Big Data be used to make the Netherlands more mobile, more social and more healthy?" 2013 2014 Sustainability team King s College London Leadership of internal research on education for sustainable development for the Vice Principal of Education: interviews with 21 faculty heads about the sustainability of education, a recommendation report and presentation to the Board. Projects 2016 now Social City (in collaboration with Droog and OSCity) Social City is a growing, global think tank based on the dreams and desires of people. Through surveys on different topics, a huge database is created which is the basis for the development of the ideal city or neighborhood. BLOC is the connector between this approach and all kinds of spatial and urban issues. 2016 now BLOC.park Along with a collection of the most inspiring parties we speak with, BLOC is working on a modular, movable park. This park is able to purify large amounts of air and water and offers a pleasant escape from busy city life. So, like any park then? By applying techniques of tomorrow, up to a hundred times more effective! 2016 now New Concept Western Trade Area A listed building in the middle of the chic Scheepvaartkwartier (Shipping Quarter), a large group of hospitality businesses, ambitious building owners and a city in movement. BLOC combines these elements and is working on a contemporary concept for revitalization of the complex, in which our café is also located. 2015 now Experience Groene Hart Together with more than twenty businesses and governments, BLOC work on a plan to give a boost to Groene Hart. We coordinate local projects that contribute to a new experience for the area. 2015 now Big Data Masterclasses Digital technology and increasing globalization have drastically changed our lives. This involves all sorts of issues on innovation, openness and monitoring. For various ministries and congresses, I teach masterclasses on Big Data and all issues, opportunities and application connected to it. 2015 now Development Dutch National Parks With Nationale Parken Nieuwe Stijl (National Parks New Style), a strong trade mark is developed for the National Parks of the future. For that reason, BLOC has developed an economic prospective and helps to put this prospective into practice from new angles. 2015 now Development Dutch Windwheel The Dutch Windwheel is renowned throughout the world as game changer in the field of sustainable development. BLOC leads the development of this icon in Rotterdam, in collaboration with architect DoepelStrijkers and various prominent companies. 2015 now Destination Waterpoort BLOC works on an investment program for the Waterpoort (Water Gate) area around
the Volkerak-Zoom lake. BLOC build plans for travel by water, a better experience and more visitors and more spinoff for the local economy. 2015 2016 Organization Forum & Workshop Landschap College van Rijksadviseurs (Landscape Board of Government Advisors) During two meetings, in conversation with the usual and unusual suspects about the future of the landscape. The recommendation will be included in the National Area Agenda and Vision. 2015 Developer Haringvliet Natuurherstel Haringvliet (Nature Restoration Haringvliet) is a special partnership headed by the Wereldnatuurfonds (World Nature Fund). Haringvliet must become a unique nature reserve and tourist attraction where the eagle, sturgeon, porpoise and white-beaked dolphin can settle. BLOC is developing a tourist-recreational approach and a business case study for the connection by water that would make Haringvliet also accessible from Rotterdam. 2015 Consultant Economy Province Zuid-Holland Together with the Bureau of Economics of the Province of Zuid-Holland, work on the structuring of the program, sub-programs and network the development of goalseffort in order to give an extra boost to the economy program. 2014 2015 Process Management water security Kampereilanden The Kampereilanden (Kamper Islands) are designated as a water retention area. I support the development of a spatial package and a toolbox for residents and municipalities to come to a water-resistant design of the area. 2014 2015 Kinderdijk: future-proof World Heritage Less than five years ago, Kinderdijk was technically bankrupt. Based on the investment approach for visitor management and investment strategy developed by BLOC, 7 million euros has been invested in the development of the world heritage, including a new visitor center.
