Understand the climate and weather and its elements. Recognize and understand the classification of tropical climates. Recognize and understand the elements of climate. Know the local climate principle. Understand the climate of Indonesia. Know and understand aspects of climate-based building design. Understand and master ventilation techniques in buildings.

Know the principles and application of sustainable building materials. Know and understand sustainable building principles. Students should display evidence of having developed a multidisciplinary understanding of urban life. Students will demonstrate an understanding of, and a willingness to act in accordance with, the ethics and values of the professional. Students can understand energy resources in nature, energy linkages with architecture and environment, energy use in building systems, energy saving technologies on architecture and environment and capable of applying energy-efficient architectural concepts to planning and designing buildings. Able to conduct historical studies that include analysis of social context, economy, politics, culture of society where the mosque was in that era. Understand the link of the mosque to its historical context. Able to conduct formal analysis of the chosen mosque. Able to understand the development of traditional architecture and history of the archipelago is associated with the concept of local knowledge, human needs, space, time, scale, and symbols.
