Con serve SC should be mixed with water and applied in a man ner to pro - vide com plete and uni form plant cov er age. Due to its unique mode of action, Con - serve SC can be used in resis tance man age ment pro grams in rotation with many other classes of products. Gen eral Use Pre cau tions Adults, chil dren, and pets should not con tact treated sur faces until the spray has dried. Do not treat pets. Regard less of the crop or pest being treated (exclud ing, spi der mites and/or di a mond back moths), do not apply Con serve SC more than 10 times in a 12-month pe ri od inside a green house or a struc ture that can be altered to be closed or open. If Con serve SC is used for leaf min er, spi der mite and/or di a mond back moth con trol, do not apply Con serve SC more than 6 times in a 12-month pe ri od inside a green house or a struc ture that can be altered to be closed or open regard - less if other in sect pests are also being treated. It is a vio la tion of fed eral law to use this prod uct in a man ner incon sis tent with its labeling. For areas of com mer cial pro duc tion of her ba ce ous (non-woody) ornamentals in nurs er ies (includ ing plant prop a ga tion beds), do not apply Con serve SC more than 10 times in a 12 month pe ri od per crop regard less of the pest being treated (exclud - ing, spi der mites and/or di a mond back moths). If Con serve SC is used in areas of com mer cial pro duc tion of her ba ce ous (non-woody) ornamentals in nurs er ies (includ ing plant prop a ga tion beds) for leaf min er, spi der mite and/or di a - mond back moth con trol, do not apply Con serve SC more than 6 times in a 12- month pe ri od per crop regard less if other in sect pests are also being treated. It is a vio la tion of fed eral law to use this prod uct in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Do not graze live stock in treated areas. Do not feed treated grass cut tings (hay) or seed screen ings to live stock or use hay for live stock bed ding. Do not apply directly to fish pools and other bod ies of water.

SPEC I MEN LABEL 2 Con serve SC may be applied by sprin kler irri ga tion in the fol low ing crops: field grown glad i o lus pro duced for cut flow ers, field grown roses, field grown Dutch iris, and field grown del phi ni um. Do not apply this prod uct by chem i ga tion to any other crop except as spec i fied on Dow AgroSciences sup ple men tal label ing. Do not apply to the above listed crop(s) through any other type of irrigation system. Inte grated Pest Man age ment (IPM) Pro grams Con serve SC is rec om mended for IPM pro grams includ ing in sect con trol on turf - grass and ornamentals. Other than reduc ing the tar get pest spe cies as a food source, Con serve SC does not sig nif i cantly impact the nat u ral pre da ceous arthro pod com - plexes includ ing lady bird bee tles, lace wings, min ute pirate bugs, and pred a tory mites. The feed ing activ i ties of these pred a tory beneficials will aid in extend ing nat u ral con trol of other in sect pests and reduce the like li hood of se con da ry pest out - breaks. If Con serve SC is tank mixed with an in sect con trol prod uct that reduces its selec tiv ity in pre serv ing pred a tory beneficials, then the full ben e fit of to the IPM program may not be realized. Green house Pest Resis tance Avoid ance Rec om men da tions Con serve SC con tains a Group 5 insec ti cide. Any in sect or mite con trol agent may become less effec tive over time if tar get in sects or mites develop resis tance to its mode of action. Adher ence to the fol low ing green house pest resis tance avoid ance rec om men da tions will help to ensure the pro longed use ful ness of in sect and mite con trol prod ucts in the greenhouse: Avoid use of the same active ingre di ent or mode of action on con sec u tive gen er a - tions of in sects or mites. How ever, mul ti ple appli ca tions to reduce a sin gle gen er a - tion are accept able. If uncer tain of the gen er a tion cycle, no more than 3 con sec u - tive appli ca tions should be used, nor should there be con tin u ous use for more than 30 days. Con sider rotat ing to a dif fe ren t active ingre di ent with a dif fe ren t mode of action or use no treat ment for the next gen er a tion or 30 days if the generation cycle is not known. Avoid using less than labeled rates of any in sect or mite con trol prod uct when applied alone or in tank mix tures. Appli ca tions should be tar geted against early in sect and mite devel op men tal stages when ever pos si ble. For guid ance, con sult with the state agri cul tural exper i ment sta tion or local exten - sion spe cial ist for infor ma tion on resis tance man age ment pro grams in your area. If pos si ble, in clu de mul ti ple tac tics (e.g., cul tural or bio log i cal con trols) when using IPM programs. Require ments for Use of Con serve SC in Green houses 1 and for Com mer cial Pro duc tion of Her ba ce ous (Non-Woody) Ornamentals in Nurs er ies 1 Regard less of the crop or pest being treated (exclud ing, spi der mites and/or di a mond back moths), do not apply Con serve SC more than 10 times in a 12-month pe ri od inside a green house or a struc ture that can be altered to be closed or open. For areas of com mer cial pro duc tion of her ba ce ous (non-woody) ornamentals in nurs er ies (includ ing plant prop a ga tion beds), do not apply Con serve SC more than 10 times in a 12-month pe ri od per crop regard less of the pest being treated (exclud ing, spi der mites and/or di a mond back moths). If Con serve SC is used in areas of com mer cial pro duc tion of her ba ce ous (non-woody) ornamentals in nurs er ies (includ ing plant prop a ga tion beds) for leaf min er, spi der mite and/or di a mond back moth con trol, do not apply Con serve SC more than 6 times in a 12-month pe ri od per crop regard less if other insect pests are also being treated. Because gen er a tions of a spe cific pest may over lap, rotate con trol prod ucts and never apply more than 3 con sec u tive appli ca tions of Con serve SC or prod ucts con - tain ing the same active ingre di ent or prod ucts with the same mode of action. Use only rec om mended label rates. It is rec om mended to make local ized area treat ments of orna men tal plants where pest prob lems are antic i pated or occur rather than gen eral area-wide broad cast treat ments. 1 A green house is defined as a struc ture or space enclosed with a nonporous cov er ing inside which plants are pro duced. A nur se ry is defined as a facil ity engaged in the out door pro - duc tion of plants. Mix ing Shake Well Before Use Avoid Freez ing Mix ing Con serve SC (Sus pen sion Con cen trate) Alone: Fill the spray tank with water to about ¹ ₂ of the required spray vol ume. Start agi ta tion and add the required amount of Con serve SC. Con tinue agi ta tion while mix ing and fill ing the spray tank to the required spray vol ume. Main tain suf fi cient agi ta tion dur ing appli ca tion to ensure uni for mity of the spray mix. Do not allow water or spray mix ture to back-si - pho n into the water source. Tank Mix ing: When tank mix ing Con serve SC with other mate ri als, a com pat i bil - ity test (jar test) using rel a tive pro por tions of tank mix ingre di ents should be con - ducted prior to mix ing ingre di ents in the spray tank. Vig or ous, con tin u ous agi ta tion dur ing mix ing, fill ing, and through out appli ca tion is needed for all tank mixes. Spar ger pipe or mechan i cal agi ta tors gen er ally pro vide the most effec tive agi ta tion in spray tanks. To pre vent foam ing in the spray tank, avoid stir ring or splashing air into the spray mixture. Mix ing Order for Tank Mixes: Fill the spray tank with water to ¹ ₄ to ¹ ₃ of the required spray vol ume. Start agi ta tion. Add dif fe ren t for mu la tion types in the order indi cated below, allow ing time for com plete dis per sion and mix ing after addi tion of each prod uct. Allow extra dis per sion and mix ing time for water dispersible gran - ules and dry flowable prod ucts. Dry and flowable for mu la tions may be pre mixed with water (slurried) and added to the spray tank through a 20 to 35 mesh screen. This pro ce dure assures good ini tial dis per sion of these formulation types. Add dif fe ren t for mu la tion types in the fol low ing order: 1. Water dispersible gran ules and dry flowables 2. Wettable pow ders 3. Con serve SC and other sus pen sion con cen trates Main tain agi ta tion and fill spray tank to ³ ₄ of total spray vol ume. Then add: 4. Emul si fi able con cen trates and wa ter-based solu tions 5. Spray adju vants Fin ish fill ing the spray tank. Main tain con tin u ous agi ta tion dur ing mix ing, final fill - ing, and through out appli ca tion. If spray ing and agi ta tion must be stopped before the spray tank is empty, the mate ri als may set tle to the bot tom. Set tled mate ri als must be resus pended before spray ing is resumed. A spar ger pipe or mechan i cal agi - ta tor is par tic u larly useful for this purpose. Uses Com mer cial Aqua ti c Plant Pro duc tion Con serve SC Turf and Orna men tal in sect con trol is rec om mended for con trol of China mark moth lar vae infest ing aqua ti c orna men tal plants grown in com mer cial pro duc tion facil i ties. This rec om mended use is restricted to com mer cial facil i ties that uti lize fully con tained above or in-ground pools or con tain ers for the pur pose of com mer cial pro duc tion of aquatic ornamental plants. Appli ca tion Tim ing and Rate: Pre pare a spray mix ture con tain ing 0.12 fl oz (3.5 ml) of Con serve SC per gal lon of water. Apply the spray mix ture to aqua ti c fo li age at a rate not to exceed 1 gal lon of spray mix ture per 100 sq ft of water sur face area using suit able hand or power-oper ated appli ca tion spray equip ment. Apply when China mark moth lar vae are pres ent. Appli ca tions at 2-week inter vals 2 to 3 times per year have been shown to be effec tive when larvae are present. Phytotoxicity: Con serve SC has been tested alone on a wide vari ety of her ba ce ous and woody orna men tal plants with out phytotoxic symp toms. How ever, because it is not pos si ble to test all pos si ble tank mix com bi na tions (includ ing adju vants) and orna men tal plant spe cies, vari et ies, and cultivars, and because envi ron men tal fac - tors and vari etal and plant stage of growth may affect phytotoxic expres sion, it is rec om mended that a small group of test plants be treated at the antic i pated use rate of Con serve SC either alone or in tank mix com bi na tions and observed for at least 5 to 7 days to deter mine phytotoxicity before treat ing large num bers of those plants. Note: The pro fes sional user assumes respon si bil ity for deter min ing if Con serve SC is safe to treated plants when applied either alone or in tank mixtures under commercial growing conditions. Restric tions: Do not apply this prod uct to aqua ti c envi ron ments (such as ponds; land scape pools or con tain ers or ponds; lakes, rivers or streams) other than fully con tained com mer cial pro duc tion pools or containers. Do not reap ply within less than 7 days. If Con serve SC treated water needs to be dis charged due to clean ing, repair ing, or other rea sons, dis charge is allowed only onto land. Do not dis charge Con serve SC treated water from com mer cial pro duc tion pools or con tain ers into sur face water. Fire Ants Mound Appli ca tion in Turf grass and Ornamentals, in Green - houses, and in Other Out door Areas Recommended Dilution Rate per 1 gal lon per 10 gal lons 0.1 fl oz (3 ml) 1 fl oz (30 ml) ml = mil li li ters, 1ml = 1cc (cubic cen ti me ter) Spe cific Use Rec om men da tions: Fire ants, such as red im port ed: Apply diluted Con serve SC to indi vid ual fire ant mounds as a drench appli ca tion. Use 1 to 2 gal lons per mound depend ing on the mound size. For mounds less than 8 inches in diam e ter, use 1 gal lon of dilu tion per mound. Use a higher vol ume, up to 2 gal lons, on mounds 8 inches or larger in diam - e ter. Apply approx i mately 10% of the dilu tion vol ume around the per im e ter of the mound out to about 12 inches and pour the remain ing vol ume directly on the mound. Do not dis turb mounds prior to appli ca tion. If pos si ble, make appli ca tion fol low ing a recent rain fall. For best results, apply in cool weather, 65 to 85 F, or in early morn ing or late e ven ing hours. Treat new mounds as they appear. Pres sur ized sprays should not be used as they may dis turb the ants and cause migration, reducing control. Home Gar dens In the state of Geor gia, do not apply Con serve SC to: Broc coli Raab, Chi nese Cab - bage (Bok Choy), Col lards, Kale, Mizuna, Mus tard Green s, Mus tard Spin ach, Rape Greens. Con serve SC may be tank mixed with other in sect con trol prod ucts if broader spec - trum in sect con trol is required. When using tank mix tures, also fol low all label direc tions of the mix ing part ner(s). Use of Con serve SC in lath and shadehouses is per mit ted. Research has dem on strated that some spot ting of Saintpaulia (Af ri ca n vi o let) flow - ers may occur. Appli ca tion by Chem i ga tion (Sprin kler Irri ga tion) Con serve SC may be applied by sprin kler irri ga tion in the fol low ing crops: field grown glad i o lus pro duced for cut flow ers, field grown roses, field grown Dutch iris, and field grown del phi ni um. Do not apply this prod uct by chem i ga tion to any other crop except as spec i fied on Dow AgroSciences sup ple men tal label ing. Do not apply to the above listed crop(s) through any other type of irrigation system. Do not apply this prod uct through any other type of irri ga tion sys tem. Sprin kler sys tems that deliver a low coef fi cient of uni for mity such as cer tain water drive units are not recommended. For con tin u ously mov ing sys tems, the mix ture con tain ing Con serve SC must be injected con tin u ously and uni formly into the irri ga tion water line as the sprin kler is mov ing. If con tin u ously mov ing irri ga tion equip ment is used, apply in no more than 0.25 inch of water. For irri ga tion sys tems that do not move dur ing oper a tion, apply in no more than 0.25 inch of irri ga tion imme di ately before the end of the irrigation cycle. Prep a ra tion: The fol low ing use direc tions are to be fol lowed when this prod uct is applied through irri ga tion sys tems. Thor oughly clean the chem i ga tion sys tem and tank of any fer til izer or chem i cal res i dues, and dis pose of the res i dues accord ing to state and fed eral laws. Flush the in jec ti on sys tem with soap or a clean ing agent and water. Deter mine the amount of Con serve SC needed to cover the desired acre age. Mix accord ing to instruc tions in the Mix ing sec tion above. Con tin u ally agi tate the mixture during mixing and application. Equip ment Cal i bra tion: In order to cal i brate the irri ga tion sys tem and injec tor to apply the mix ture con tain ing Con serve SC, deter mine the fol low ing: 1) the num ber of acres irri gated by the sys tem; 2) the amount of prod uct required and pre mix; 3) the irri ga tion rate and the num ber of min utes for the sys tem to cover the intended treat ment area; 4) the total gal lons of insec ti cide mix ture needed to cover the desired acre age. Divide the total gal lons of insec ti cide mix ture needed by the num - ber of min utes (minus time to flush out) to cover the treat ment area. This value equals the gal lons per min ute out put that the injec tor or educ tor must deliver. Con - vert the gal lons per min ute to mil li li ters or ounces per min ute, if needed. Cal i brate the injec tor sys tem with the sys tem in oper a tion at the desired irri ga tion rate. It is sug gested that the in jec ti on pump/sys tem be cal i brated at least twice before operation, and the system should be monitored during operation. Oper a tion: Start the water pump and irri ga tion sys tem and let the sys tem achieve the desired pres sure and speed before start ing the injec tor. Check for leaks and uni - for mity and make repairs before any chem i ga tion takes place. Start the in jec ti on sys tem and cal i brate accord ing to man u fac turer s rec om men da tions. This pro ce - dure is nec es sary to deliver the desired rate per acre in a uni form man ner. When the appli ca tion is fin ished, allow the en tire irri ga tion and in jec ti on sys tem to be thor - oughly flushed clean before stopping the system.

SPEC I MEN LABEL 4 Pre cau tions: Lack of effec tive ness or ille gal pes ti cide res i dues in the crop can result from nonuni form dis tri bu tion of treated water. If you have ques tions about cal i bra tion, you should con tact state exten sion ser vice spe cial ists, equip ment man u fac tur ers or other experts. Do not con nect an irri ga tion sys tem used for pes ti cide appli ca tion (includ ing green house sys tems) to a pub lic water sys tem unless the pes ti cide label-pre - scribed safety devices for pub lic water sys tems are in place with cur rent cer tif i ca - tion. Spe cific local reg u la tions may apply and must be followed. A per so n knowl edge able of the chem i ga tion sys tem and respon si ble for its oper a - tion, or under the super vi sion of the respon si ble per so n, shall oper ate the sys tem and make nec es sary adjust ments should the need arise and con tin u ously monitor the injection. Do not apply when wind speed favors drift beyond the area intended for treat ment. End guns must be turned off dur ing the appli ca tion if they irri gate nontarget areas. Do not allow irri ga tion water to col lec t or run off and pose a haz ard to live stock, wells, or adjoin ing crops. Do not enter treated area dur ing the reen try inter val spec i fied in the Agri cul tural Use Require ments sec tion of this label unless required PPE is worn. Do not apply through sprin kler sys tems that deliver a low coef fi cient of uni for - mity such as cer tain water drive units. Spe cific Equip ment Require ments: The sys tem must con tain an air gap, or approved backflow pre ven tion device, or approved func tional check valve, vac uum relief valve (includ ing inspec tion port), and low-pres sure drain appro pri ately located on the irri ga tion pipe line to pre vent water source con tam i na tion from backflow. Refer to the Am er i ca n Soci ety of Agri cul tural Engi neer s Engi neer ing Prac tice 409 for more infor ma tion or state specific regulations. The pes ti cide in jec ti on line must con tain a func tional, auto matic, quick-clos ing check valve to pre vent the flow of fluid back toward the in jec ti on chem i cal supply. A pes ti cide in jec ti on pump must also con tain a func tional inter lock, e.g., mechan - i cal or elec tri cal, to shut off chem i cal sup ply when the irri ga tion sys tem is either auto mat i cally or manually shut down. The sys tem must con tain func tional inter lock ing con trols to auto mat i cally shut off the pes ti cide in jec ti on when the water pres sure drops too low or water flow stops. Use of pub lic water sup ply requires approval of a backflow pre ven tion device or air gap (pre ferred) by both state and local author i ties. Sys tems must use a meter ing device, such as a pos i tive dis place ment in jec ti on pump (or flow meter on educ tor) effec tively designed and con structed of mate ri als that are com pat i ble with pes ti cides and capa ble of being fit ted with a sys tem inter - lock. An elec tric pow ered pump must meet Sec tion 675 for Elec tri cally Driven or Con trolled Irri ga tion Machines NEC 70. To insure uni form mix ing of the insec ti cide in the water line, in jec t the mix ture in the cen ter of the pipe diam e ter or just ahead of an elbow or tee in the irri ga tion line so that the tur bu lence cre ated at those points will assist in mix ing. The in jec ti on point must be located after all backflow pre ven tion devices on the water line. The tank hold ing the insec ti cide mix ture should be free of rust, fer til izer, sed i - ment, and for eign mate rial and equipped with an in-lin e strainer sit u ated between the tank and the in jec ti on point. chry so me li d leaf feed ing bee tles, such as: elm leaf (1) vi bur num leaf (lar vae) wil low leaf (1) lepidopterous lar vae, such as: az a le a ca ter pil lar bag worm beet ar my worm cab bage looper California oakworm can ker worm diamondback moth E. tent ca ter pil lar fall web worm Flo ri da fern ca ter pil lar geranium budworm gypsy moth oblique banded leafroller o le an der ca ter pil lar orange striped oakworm spruce bud worm tussock moths (hickory, whitemarked) W. tent ca ter pil lar yellownecked ca ter pil lar (2) saw fly lar vae, such as: European pine pear redheaded pine shore fly (ex pos ed) in green house set tings, such as: (3) Cuban lau rel west ern flow er dipterous gall midges pin yon spindlegall fl oz/gal lon fl oz/100 gal lons 0.06 6 (2 ml/gal lon) (177 ml/100 gal lons) 0.1 (3 ml/gal lon) 11 (325 ml/100 gal lons) (ex pos ed) in out door set tings, such as: Cuban lau rel west ern flow er (3) dipterous, such as: ser pen tine (4) Nan tuck et pine tip moth lewis mites spi der mites, such as: spruce two -spo tted (5) (See 5 below for mite sup - pression/control expectations) fl oz/gal lon 0.2 (6 ml/gal lon) Num bers in paren the ses refer to Spe cific Use Rec om men da tions below. ml = mil li li ters, 1 ml = 1 cc (cubic cen ti me ter) fl oz/100 gal lons 22 (651 ml/100 gal lons) Spe cific Use Rec om men da tions (for pest con trol in the green house or nur se ry, also refer to Green house Pest Resis tance Avoid ance Rec om men da tions): 1.
