Other than reduc ing the tar get pest spe cies as a food source, Con serve SC does not sig nif i cantly impact the nat u ral pre da ceous arthro pod com - plexes includ ing lady bird bee tles, lace wings, min ute pirate bugs, and pred a tory mites. Green house Pest Resis tance Avoid ance Rec om men da tions Con serve SC con tains a Group 5 insec ti cide. Any in sect or mite con trol agent may become less effec tive over time if tar get in sects or mites develop resis tance to its mode of action. This rec om mended use is restricted to com mer cial facil i ties that uti lize fully con tained above or in-ground pools or con tain ers for the pur pose of com mer cial pro duc tion of aquatic ornamental plants. Appli ca tion Tim ing and Rate: Pre pare a spray mix ture con tain ing 0.12 fl oz (3.5 ml) of Con serve SC per gal lon of water. Equip ment Cal i bra tion: In order to cal i brate the irri ga tion sys tem and injec tor to apply the mix ture con tain ing Con serve SC, deter mine the fol low ing: 1) the num ber of acres irri gated by the sys tem; 2) the amount of prod uct required and pre mix; 3) the irri ga tion rate and the num ber of min utes for the sys tem to cover the intended treat ment area; 4) the total gal lons of insec ti cide mix ture needed to cover the desired acre age. Divide the total gal lons of insec ti cide mix ture needed by the num - ber of min utes (minus time to flush out) to cover the treat ment area. This value equals the gal lons per min ute out put that the injec tor or educ tor must deliver. Con - vert the gal lons per min ute to mil li li ters or ounces per min ute, if needed. Cal i brate the injec tor sys tem with the sys tem in oper a tion at the desired irri ga tion rate. It is sug gested that the in jec ti on pump/sys tem be cal i brated at least twice before operation, and the system should be monitored during operation. Oper a tion: Start the water pump and irri ga tion sys tem and let the sys tem achieve the desired pres sure and speed before start ing the injec tor.
