Scope Emergency Warning Lights (includes Rotating, Flashing, Directional and 360 Degree.) Charter Name The name of this committee shall be the TSEI Purpose & Authority Membership This committee shall be responsible for interfacing with government agencies and industry trade associations to help establish, clarify and support performance standards and regulations for TSEI member's products, which meet the category Emergency Products. Emergency Products categories are as defined in the Scope. The committee shall establish working relationships with laboratories to allow for certification and comparison testing of products against recognized standards as required. Membership in the committee is open to any interested TSEI member. Companies that have registered and paid dues in the appropriate x chart may have one voting representative. Chairmanship Meetings The committee shall have one committee chair, one committee vice chair (or two co-chairs), and one chair for each subcommittee. The term of the chair and vice chairs shall be two years. Meetings will be held at the semi-annual TSEI meetings with additional meetings scheduled on an asneeded basis. A majority of voting committee members, either in person or by conference telephone, will constitute a quorum for meetings of the committee. Minutes of each committee meeting will be circulated to each member as soon as possible following each meeting. Committee Actions All actions that would have a significant effect on TSEI or on the membership will be reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors and/or the membership before it is undertaken.

SAE J595: Flashing Warning Lamps for Authorized Emergency, Maintenance and Service Vehicles (<40 ). Emergency Warning Devices Standards Committee Current Revision: November 2008 Revision Status: Current. 5 year review due in Fall, 2013. Considering revisions for: Expanding Voltage Ranges to work with applications on industrial vehicles (e.g., Electric Vehicles) Clarification of Flash Rate requirements (2-4 Hz vs. 2.0-4.0 Hz to control variability.) Considering inclusion of J2139 reference, which allows for random vibration (in addition to J577) for full size lightbars. Revision of the optical stability requirement for light devices that increase in output during the warm-up period. Allowing the use of J2139 as an alternative to J575 for vehicles wider than 2032mm.
