Code No. 2071 1052 Rev. 1.4 Page 4/16 SCAN200E User s Manual SCAN200E GAS DETECTION CONTROLLER Introduction SCAN200E Gas Detection Controller is designed to implement real time gas detection of large industrial sites by using one controller. The Controller can accommodate up to 64 gas detectors and 128 relays depending on the number of modules installed. Every Input Module holds 8 inputs and every Relay Module holds 8 relays. The first logical Relay Module has following reservations, relays 1 3 are general alarm class relays and relay 4 is generally the fault relay. Modules communicate using RS-485 up to a distance of 1 km. Galvanic isolators will be used between Main Controller and Sub Controllers when needed. The Main Controller has backlit LCD display to represent concentrations, trend graphs and alarm history. Normal alarm classes, 1/C, 2/B, 3/A (or 0/D = only relay control without an alarm) and relays are assigned for each of the three alarm levels for each channel. An additional alarm class of 4/AA will activate class 3/A alarm and class relay. Additional relay control (a selected relay from 5 to 128) for class 4/AA alarm will function as a relay (latching relay) which controls the function of a solenoid valve. This relay control can be acknowledged only after alarm has ceased. There is no dedicated class relay for class 4/AA alarm. In case of fault the yellow fault LED will be lit and relay number 4 activates. Alarm and fault cases are stored in the alarm history. Passwords The Controller has 2 replaceable passwords, password 1 and password 2. Factory defaults for these passwords are found on the original inspection sheet. Password 1 gives access to ALARM INHIBIT, relay test, alarm levels, date and time. Password 2 gives in addition access to other parameters and password change Image 1, User Interface

Code No. 2071 1052 Rev. 1.4 Page 16/16 SCAN200E User s Manual CONTROLLER FUNCTION AT ALARM SITUATIONS Class 0 When a set alarm limit is passed, the set control relay activates. The relay will be restored when the signals from all concerning channels are back to normal again. The set delay and dead band affect the relay functions. Note that several channels can activate the same relay. At this class, no information of the relay activities is stored in the alarm history. Class 1 and 2 Control and class relays are activated, LED class indicators are lit. The information of the relay activities is stored in the alarm history. Class 3 In addition to class 1 and 2, also a buzzer is activated and an alarm message is displayed. The class relay and buzzer functions are deactivated by pressing ACK. The LED class indicator and the control relay follow the signal (they are not deactivated by pressing the ACK button). Class 4 Class 4 activates also class 3. Class 4 does not have a dedicated class relay. The alarm limit, which activated class 4, control relay is active until acknowledged from the dedicated acknowledge button, after concentration has returned to normal. This is known as the acknowledge-after-alarm. See ALARM LIMITS. Failure When an error in the sensor connections or another malfunction occurs, the FAULTindicator is lit, the fault relay activates and the buzzer beeps. A message will be displayed. The buzzer can be deactivated by pressing ACK. The fault relay and the fault indicator functions are restored when the failure is corrected.
