Preview Texprocess 2017 Texprocess 2017, Frankfurt, 9 th -12 th May 2017, Hall 5.1, Booth C46 Mitsubishi Electric launches the Industrial Internet of Industrial Sewing Machines Ratingen, 11. April 2016 Visitors of the Texprocess can see how Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) connectivity boosts productivity and increases quality for users of Mitsubishi Electric industrial sewing machines in the context of Industry 4.0. As new industrial sewing machines gain more intelligence they are also offering greater levels of connectivity to higher level plant management systems. Mitsubishi Electric is highlighting the benefits of what it has called the Industrial Internet of Industrial Sewing Machines in the context of Industry 4.0. On booth C46, Hall 5.1 at Texprocess 2017, Mitsubishi Electric will show how its industrial sewing machines and automation solutions help users to increase quality, boost productivity and reduce maintenance costs. Mitsubishi Electric will feature five industrial sewing machines on its booth, all addressing the requirements of high value and safety critical applications. Demonstrations will show how production data can be extracted from the machine controllers for real time, historic analysis and product traceability. Each industrial sewing machine will have a local operator HMI terminal displaying actual process data on quality, productivity and machine availability. In addition a larger line-side screen

will display live trending data. With the ability to see this information, users can ensure quality standards are being maintained. They can look at which industrial sewing machines are exhibiting more downtime than others and investigate the reasons why. Any maintenance can also be scheduled on-demand, based on meaningful process data, rather than wasting time on rigid schedules or waiting for emergencies. Mitsubishi Electric will also show how advanced features of the industrial sewing machines increase usability and prevent errors, for example with the machine control system checking cloth thickness and finding any setting errors before sewing starts. The Guided Operator Solutions from Mitsubishi Electric also ensures operators are picking the right material pieces in the right order for feeding the industrial sewing machines, further boosting quality. At the same time, machine frames for the industrial sewing machines can carry barcodes to ensure the correct frame is selected, vision cameras can be also used to monitor stitching quality, and all of this information can be stored to provide full traceability through the supply chain. Experts from the Mitsubishi Electric Industrial Sewing Machine and Industrial Automation Business Unit will be on hand to discuss all of these issues with visitors, and to explain the role of industrial sewing machines and automation solutions within an Industry 4.0 context.
