Supply Air Application Remove the clear cover of the smoke detector. Place the sampling tube filters into both the exhaust tube and the inlet tube. See Figure 3. Replace cover removed in Step 1. Step 3: Attach smoke detector to supply bracket with two #10-16 x 1" Hextec screws. See Figure 4. Step 4: Open blower access panel and remove the two screws shown in Figure 5. FILTER Figure 3 Step 5: Slide out blower assembly and insert two (2).875" snap bushings, one of each side of the blower. Insert the copper extension tube through the snap bushings as shown in Figure 6. Step 6: Slide blower assembly back into unit. Align holes in the smoke detector bracket with the holes where screws were removed in Step 4, and secure. Step 7: Remove jumper plug from unit socket (S14). Insert plug (P14) of the smoke detector into unit socket (S14). See Figure 7. Figure 4 Step 8: Test per smoke detector manufacturer spec. See (IM) instructions. Step 9: Close blower access panel. Return Air Application With Economizer Remove the clear cover of the smoke detector. Insert 12" extension tube in the inlet tube of the smoke detector secure with screws provided. Step 3: Place the sampling tube filters into both the exhaust tube and the inlet tube. See Figure 3. Replace cover removed in Step 1. Figure 8 Step 4: Attach ½" liquid tight fittings to both ends of the liquid tight flex. Slide "A" over flex and then insert "B" by screwing it into flex. Place "C" over "B" then tighten "A" on to "C" until fitting is secure. Step 5: Remove return air damper from unit. "C" "B" "A" Step 6: Insert 23" sampling tube into side of return air damper Step 7: Secure sampling tube with four 10-16 x ½" screws provided. Make sure the air holes of the sampling tube face into the airflow. See Figure 11. Figure 9 Step 8: Insert red tube plug into the end of sampling tube where it was secured to the return air damper. Return Air Application With Economizer (con t) Step 11: Slide nut and compression ring from the flex fitting upon the sample tube. Put the end of the flex fitting over the end of the sample tube and then tighten nut down on to fitting. Secure flex to the sample tube. Repeat for extension tube. Figure 13 Step 12: Slide return damper back into the unit. Step 13: Remove jumper plug from unit socket (S13). Insert plug (P13) of the smoke detector into unit socket (S13). Return Air Application Without Economizer (Downflow Applications Only) Remove the clear cover of the smoke detector. Insert 23" sampling tube in the inlet tube of the smoke detector. Make sure the air holes of the sampling tube face into the airflow. Insert 6.562" extension tube into exhaust tube of the smoke detector. Step 3: Place the sampling tub filters into both the exhaust tube and the inlet tube. Replace cover removed in Step 1. Figure 17 Step 4: Insert red tube plug into the end of sampling tube. Step 5: Attach smoke detector to return bracket with the two #10-16 x 1" Hextec screws. Step 6: Open return split panels. Step 7: Drill holes through the smoke detector bracket into unit divider wall. Secure with four #10-16 x ½" screws provided. Figure 18 Step 8: Insert 12" extension tube in hole above filter rack. Secure with two #10-16- x ½" screws provided. Step 9: Take clear tubing and place ends over the 12" and 6.562" extension tube. Secure with two 9" wire ties. Supply Air Application Re move pan els as needed to ex pose the fresh air and blower access sections. Determine the wiring configuration of the unit by locating unit socket S18. If S18 is located in the fresh air compartment, proceed to Step 3. If S18 is located in the blower section proceed to Step 9. See Figure 26 and 27. Step 6: Re move the clear cover of smoke de tec tor. In sert the metal sam pling tube in the in let tube of the smoke de tec tor. Make sure the air holes of the sam pling tube face into the air flow. Se cure with screws pro vided. Note that the sam pling tube may need to be cut to the ap pro pri ate length to span the sup ply air open ing. S18 Step 7: Place the sam pling tube fil ters into both the ex haust tube and in the in let tube and re place cover. Step 8: In sert red tube plug into the end of the sam pling tube. Figure 26 S18 Step 9: Remove the (2) 7 8 knock-outs from the upper and lower blower plates. If the blower assembly is not equipped with knock-outs, drill (2) 7 8 holes. The holes are to be located 4.25 from the right edge and 7.25 (6.00 on 15-ton unit) from the front edge of the blower plate. See Figure 28. Figure 27 4.25" Step 10: Insert the 90-degree copper sampling tube through the (2) 7 8 holes in the blower assembly. Next, slide a 7 8 snap bushing over each end of the sampling tube and insert into the blower assembly. See Figure 29. 7.25" Figure 28 Step 11: Place the foam gaskets over the sampling tubes of the smoke detector and secure the detector to the supply air mounting bracket with two #10-16 x 1 hextec screws (provided). Step 12: Remove the clear cover of the smoke detector and place the sampling tube filters into both the exhaust tube and in the inlet tube and replace the cover. Step 13: Insert the 90-degree copper sampling tube into the inlet opening of the smoke detector and secure the mounting bracket to the inner frame post. See figures 30 and 31. Step 5: Place foam gas kets over sam pling tubes of the smoke de tec tor and mount in the Re turn air par ti tion panel. Se cure with the two #10-16 x 1" Hextec screws (pro vided). Step 6: Re move the clear cover of the smoke de tec tor; in sert the metal sam pling tube in the in let tube.
