The radiator connection set consists of a control valve, connection pipe, bypass bodies and pipe connections. All components are supplied in nickel-plated design and can be combined according to requirements Models The connection sets are fitted to the side of the radiator with the control valve above and the bypass bodies below. Mode of operation Wet two pipe heating systems installed with calibrated steel or copper pipes and/or plastic pipes. Maximum operating pressure 120 C Maximum operating temperature 10 bar Hot water quality according to ÖNORM H 9195 and/or VDI guideline 2035. Operating data for compression unions for metal pipes When using compression unions for copper and steel pipes the permissible temperatures and pressure information according to EN 1254-2:1998 table 5 is to be followed. for plastic connections Plastic connections are suitable for application categories 4 and 5 according to ISO 10508 (surface heating and radiator connection) and for pipes made of PE-RT (DIN 4721), PE-MDX (DIN 4724), PB and PE-X (DIN 4726) as well as plastic-metal connecting pipes (ÖNORM B 5157). Thus the maximum usage temperature is 95 C at 10 bar. The user must select the operating pressure, (P.oper) and the operating temperature (T.oper) for the type of pipe, so that the standard values and permissible operating data of the pipe manufacturer are adhered to. Deviations from this information are specially noted in the technical documents. HERZ - Pipefix HERZ press fittings are designed as multi-sealing radial press connectors for multilayer pipes and seal internally with two o-rings. Calculation of the pipe lengths to match the hub distances: Hub distance of the radiator - plug-in depth of the pipe = required pipe length Hub distance H L Pipe plug-in depths 550 514 (505-517) 540 504 (495-507) 548 512 (503-515) The connecting pipe should be cleanly cut using a pipe cutter, and calibrated if necessary. The paragraph compression union assembly should be noted. Balancing connecting pipes For two pipe systems the bypass body, 1 7650 00-181, is used. 100% of hot water sent through the pipes is fed through the radiator. Constructional details For two pipe versions, pre-setting should be carried out with the control and shut-off screw. The covering cap must be removed. Adjust the now visible pre-setting screw with an allen key, SW 8, beginning from the closed valve. The pre-setting values can be seen on the diagrams. Pre-setting using control screws The HERZ thermostatic valve upper part can be changed with the HERZ Change-fix tool when under pressure for: - Cleaning the seat seal on the spindle and/or changing the valve upper parts. With this, faults on the valves, e.g. from foreign bodies such as dirt, welding or solder remnants, can be easily removed. Changing the thermostatic upper part NOTE: When changing valve upper parts: The control valve, 1 7650 00-180 is fitted with an upper part, 1 6367 98. When using this the instructions included with the Change-fix tool must be followed. 1. Remove the HERZ thermostatic head, manual drive or screw cap. 2. Set the orange adjusting knob (factory setting between 4 and 5 ) by hand or using the adjuster key (1 6819 98) to the desired pre-setting stage 1 6 (0). 3. Fit the HERZ thermostatic head or manual drive. Setting procedure for HERZ-TS-98-V, setting key 1 6819 98 A special sealing ring serves as the spindle seal, guaranteeing the maximum freedom from maintenance and lasting ease of movement for the valve. Where the spindle seal is worn out, the valve upper part can be changed and at the same time any damaged seat seal renewed. The existing pre-setting can be re-set after replacement of the upper part. Spindle seal HERZ-TS-98-V upper part 1. Remove of the HERZ thermostatic head and/or HERZ-TS manual drive. 2. Unscrew the valve upper part and replace with a new one. 3. Re-fit the HERZ thermostatic head and/or HERZ-TS manual drive. Changing the upper part can be carried out when the system is under pressure using the HERZ Changefix tool, and the operating instructions for the device must be followed. Order number for HERZ-TS-98-V valve upper part: 1 6367 98+A59. 3
The protective cap serves to activate during installation (pipe flushing). By removing the screw cap and screwing on the HERZ thermostatic head the thermostatic valve is completed. Setting the nominal lift using the screw cap: 1. Close the valve by turning right. 2. Turn the screw cap about 90 left HERZ thermostatic valve In the unlikely case that a HERZ thermostatic valve lower part is not fitted with a HERZ thermostatic head, the HERZ-TS manual drive replaces the protective cap. HERZ-TS manual drive The instructions included should be followed when fitting. After closing the control screw on the bypass bodies and shutting off the control valve, the radiator can also be removed during normal operation of the system. For thermostatic operation shut-off is denoted as 0 on the thermostat. Therefore, only a thermostat that can be shut off should be used. NOTE: For long-term removal, cap the open connections with a 1 1056 66 cap for safety reasons. Removing the radiator 1. Tightly screw the radiator connections in the Rp 1/2 radiator boss. 2. Fit the control valve. 3. Attach the connecting pipe (lengthed as required required) to the control valve using a compression union. 4. Connect the bypass body to the radiator, and plug-in the connecting pipe. 5. Fix the bypass body to the connecting pipe with the compression union. 6. Fit the flow and return pipes with, compression fittings to the bypass body. 7. Tighten the nut (approx. 1/4 turn). Mounting the No adjustable spanners or similar tools should be used, as this may lead to distortion of the clamping nut! The use of support sleeves is recommended. The pipe must be cleanly calibrated and deburred. The thread of the clamping nut should be lubricated using silicone oil during installation (mineral oil damages the O-ring of the clamping ring}.
