Refrigeration dryer series AS Highest level of operational reliability Compressed air requires processing In almost all branches of industry today, compressed air is taking on a significant status as a means of transmitting energy. If the preparation process is absent or inadequate, aggressive, oily condensates form. These not only infrequently lead to corrosion in pipelines and compressed air containers but even to stoppages in production caused by premature wear and failure of the consumer. How to eliminate the problem The latest generation of arctic-star refrigeration dryers combines superior advantages to form a successful concept. Emphasis was laid on environmental compatibility, compact design, the lowest possible running costs and optimal operational safety. 20 models with flow rates from 245 m 3 /h to 10.800 m 3 /h complete our range of products for the majority of compressed air applications.

At this stage already, approx. 70% of the water vapour is removed. In the second phase, the compressed air flows through a refrigerant/air heat exchanger. It is here that the cooling to the required pressure dew point takes place. The precipitated condensate is carried away from the system by the WET-X separator before the rewarming process in the air/air heat exchanger. Microprocessor with EM technology The EM controller with its innovative functions is perfectly tuned to the AS refrigeration compressed air dryer. It permits the highly effective adaptation of the arctic-star to all operating situations. From permanent visually recognisable status to fault diagnosis, the EM controller guarantees flawless running for the arctic-star. The multifunctional display digitally indicates the pressure dew-point and various warnings. The EM processor controls the energy saving function and informs the operator about the energy saving mode. The (standard) potential-free contacts and an RS 485 card option permit remote monitoring. EM energy saving management The arctic-star with EM controller (AS 720 and above) adapts to the varying compressed air requirements and to seasonal variations in temperature. The EM controller automatically identifies any potential energy saving and constantly and precisely adapts the power usage of the arctic-star to the real conditions. The controller monitors the temperature sequences with sensors and ensures a constant pressure dew point. The arctic-star is at the cutting edge with its low pressure-drop value and low power consumption when operating at full capacity. This is achieved by the generously-dimensioned full size heat exchanger and the Scroll refrigerant compressor in connection with the use of the refrigerant R 407 C. Economically dry and operationally secure Low operating and investment costs and a modern concept guarantee the economic efficiency of the arctic-star refrigeration dryer. For higher flow capacities and higher pressures, an extensive series of special dryers is available.

A specially developed sensor measures the condensate level in the heat exchanger and activates the draining process when necessary using a solenoid valve. This takes place without any loss of pressure whatsoever. The software detects any sensor malfunction and automatically resets the draining process to run at time-controlled intervals.
