Summary The Friends of Chase Park in partnership with Gateshead Council have a shared vision to bring about the renaissance of Chase Park. The HLF bid will focus on the conservation and restoration of heritage features whilst improving this much loved park as a leisure facility for the whole of the local community. Restoration works will be carried on the listed windmill, entrance gates and stone walls, the path system and the former Whickham House Garden. Improvements will also be made to the toddler play area, the MUGA, and new facilities developed including community garden, community cafe, trim trail, mini golf, and skateboard area. An Activity Plan will be developed and capacity building will encourage volunteers to further develop the existing events programme and create external funding strategies, building on the success of the Flora play area competition and recent sponsorship and volunteer initiatives improving floral displays in the village.
