2. Genera Information The Thermo shaker PHMP / PHMP-4 is designed for shaking 1 to 4 standard 96-we pates in the therma reguation mode. The Thermo shaker was designed using the muti-system principe, which aows using it as three independent devices: 1) incubator for asting incubation of micro quantities (insect, pant ce cutures, etc.) in pates; 2) pate shaker for operation in the cod room or other conditions, which do not require temperature stabiization; 3) micropate thermo-shaker for immunochemistry and moecuar diagnostics, where the requirements to the resut reproducibiity and thus to the precise method reguation are particuary high. The Thermo shaker PHMP / PHMP-4 provides: soft or intensive sampe shaking; rotation speed reguation, stabiization and indication; even shaking ampitude throughout Shaker-Thermostat patform; required operation time setting and indication; automatic stopping of the patform movement after the set time expires; current operation time indication; setting and indication of the required temperature. The device can be used in: cytochemistry for in situ reactions; immunochemistry for immunofermentative reactions; biochemistry for enzyme and protein anaysis; moecuar bioogy for matrix anaysis, DNA and RNA anayses. The maximum guaranteed number of diagnostic cyces in the Thermo Shaker mode, which require 15-30 min work in one cyce, is 7000-14000 times. Externa 12V power suppy unit is used to power the device. It makes it safe to work in the cod room, where condensation may cause eakage current from eectric circuit. Page 5

3. Getting started 3.1 Unpacking Remove packing materias carefuy and retain them for future shipment or storage of the unit. Examine the unit carefuy for any damage incurred during transit. The warranty does not cover in-transit damage. 3.2 Thermo-Shaker set incudes: 3.3 Set up Thermo Shaker PHMP/PHMP-4...1 piece Spare rubber drive bet...2 pieces Externa power suppy unit...1 piece ; Decaration of Conformity...1 copy Pace the unit onto an even horizonta non-fammabe surface away from any fammabe materias (not ess than 30 cm); Remove protective fim from the dispay; Pug the externa power suppy unit into the socket at the rear side of the PHMP and position the unit so that there is easy access to the power switch and the externa power suppy unit. Page 6

4. Operation of PHMP / PHMP-4 4.1 Connect the externa power suppy unit to a grounded power socket and set the power switch ocated on the rear pane of the unit to position I ("ON"). 4.2 The dispay wi turn on with the upper ine (Set) showing time, speed and temperature set earier and the ower ine (Actua) showing current readings of the same parameters (thermobock temperature C, which automaticay starts rising according to the temperature set in the upper ine). The time of temperature stabiisation depends on the initia temperature. Setting the parameters Use the readings in the upper ine of the dispay (Set), whie setting the necessary parameters. Setting time (TIME) 4.3 Using the pand qkeys (Fig. 1/u) set the required working time interva in hours and minutes (increment - 1 min). Pressing the key for more than 3 s wi increase the increment. Setting speed (RPM) 4.4 Using the pand qkeys (Fig. 1/v) set the required speed (increment 10 RPM). Pressing the key for more than 3 s wi increase the increment. Setting temperature (T,ºC) 4.5 Using the pand qkeys (Fig. 1/w) set the necessary temperature (increment 0.1ºC). Pressing the key for more than 3 s wi increase the increment. Caution! Set Actua 00:00 1000 35.0 STOP 0000 35.0 hr : min Thermo-Shaker Fig. 1 Contro pane The patform heating can be turned off ony by setting the required temperature beow 25 C (the dispay wi show OFF T,ºC set point). It can be used in cod rooms as a mixing device without therma reguation in this mode. Whie the patform is not shaking (STOP indication on the dispay), press Time RUN/STOP key and hod for 8s to enter id temperature mode (LID indication on the dispay). Press RPM RUN/STOP key to exit the mode. Page 7

Program execution After the therma stabiisation of the unit (when the set and current temperature readings become the same) 4.6 Micropate fixation: PHMP PHMP: Pace micropates on the patform and fix it with the specia push-down cip by pressing it against the pate covers. PHMP-4: Unscrew the fixation screws. Pace micropates on the patform and fix them by tightening the fixation screws. Caution! For mode PHMP: Load ony pairs of micropates for best fixing. PHMP-4 Correct oading Wrong oading Caution! For mode PHMP-4: The micropate fixation screws must aways be tightened to avoid damage. Tighten the fixation screws competey when micropates are removed from or paced on the patform. Do not cose the id if the micropate fixation screws are not tightened to avoid damage. 4.7 Press the RPM-RUN/STOP key (Fig. 1/x). The patform wi start rotating and the timer indicator wi start counting up the time interva (with 1 min precision). 4.8 After finishing the program the patform motion wi stop and the timer wi show the fashing reading STOP accompanied by the repetitive sound signa unti the RPM-RUN/STOP key is pressed. 4.9 If the working time is not set (or is reset) and the timer indicator in the upper ine shows 00:00, pressing the RPM-RUN/STOP key wi start continuous operation of the Thermo-shaker (timer indicator wi start counting up the time interva in the ower ine (Actua)) unti the RPM- RUN/STOP key is pressed again. Pease note! The patform temperature wi be constanty maintained in accordance with the set temperature. This aows the devise to be used again without pre-heating. 4.10 The timer can be reset during operation if required. Press the TIME-RUN/STOP key once (Fig. 1/y) to stop the timer. Press the TIME-RUN/STOP key again to restart the timer. 4.11 The patform motion can be stopped at any time by pressing the RPM-RUN /STOP key. In this case the program reaisation run and the patform motion wi stop and the timer wi switch into the STOP mode saving previousy set time. Press the RPM-RUN/STOP key to repeat the operation with the same time and speed. Caution! At the end of the set time period the patform movement is stopped automaticay, but the heating can be stopped ony by reducing the temperature using the qt(ºc) key (Fig. 1/wower key) ti the OFF sign appears in the upper part of the dispay. 4.12 After finishing the operation set the power switch, ocated on the rear pane of the unit, in position O (Off) and disconnect the externa power suppy from eectric circuit.
