Operation of Pumps & Boiler THERMOSTATS FOR COMFORT HEATING AND SNOW MELTING Product presentation: Part 6

Operation of Boiler & Pumps Thermal Actuators opens Time 0:00 Boiler Time 4:10 Main Pump Time 3:10 UFH Pump Time 3:00 The boilercan only start again 5 minutes after it has stopped. (max run time 12 times per hr) The pumpswill continue operate 60 sec after the boiler stops allowing flow to dissipate through the system, Advantages: No water pressure against closed valves. Only start up by larger heat demand. Filter out operations under 3½ minutes. Longer life time with good economy.

Operation with Weather Compensation Mixing valve Sensor Outdoor module Operation with Weather Compensation: Outdoor module creates water supply target temperature. The mixing valve will open 20% during start-up process. Residual hot primary water is used before the boiler will start. When the boiler starts the mixing valve operation is released.

Special features THERMOSTATS FOR COMFORT HEATING AND SNOW MELTING Product presentation: Part 7

Network functions In large buildings with multiple areas it is possible to use a master to create a network of multiple zones. Circulation pump control of each string String 2 A network master could be a Digital Master for centralized control of mixed supply water or a Basic Master where no mixing is required. WLM- BA/FS 2,1 WLM-AO WLM- BA/FS 2,2 WLM- BA/FS 2,3 Slave Masters can then be added to the network to create additional zones. Boiler String 1 Slave Masters controlling a common pump are connected as a string on the network system. Up to 15 strings, each of up to 9 masters, can be connected as a network. Switching between cooling and heating can be done via the Network Master using a single WLAC interface. WLM- BA/FS 0,0 WLM- BA/FS 1,1 WLM- BA/FS 1,2 WLM- BA/FS 1,3 Network communication cable ID-selectors on the Masters Have to be set in order to identify the master on the network

Cooling functions In addition to controlling heating, all WLM masters have the ability to control the system for cooling. String 1 A WLAC module is required for the master to know that cooling is required. WLM- BA/FS 2,1 WLM- BA/FS 2,2 WLM- BA/FS 2,3 By using the humidity sensor (WLH-19) the system limits the formation of condensation on floor surfaces due to high humidity. Energy source WLH Local attached humidity sensor for local dew point protection Humidity sensors are attached to each master, and in a network the worst case situation will control the water supply temperature. If cooling is being limited due to high humidity a dehumidifier can be enabled by a master. WLM- BA/FS 0,0 wlac Changeover module WLAC-19 for switching between heating and cooling When cooling is enabled the cooling set point will be pre-determined by the master and will override any settings in any clock thermostat to ensure optimum energy efficiency. Signal for cooling/heating changeover

BMS functions The BMS function: In buildings with a Building Management System, this system can communicate with the WLM2 system by using the versions with BMS interface. This enables full remote control to ensure optimal control and energy efficiency in the building. Main BMS features: Read & set all individual room & floor limit temperatures Read all masters in a WLM2 network through the WLM2 network master. Read out status of all outputs like pumps, boiler and actuators Read & set weather compensation values Override functions to support testing RTU MODBUS via RS485 Example 1: Building Management Computer communicating with a standalone WLM2 with BMS interface Example 2: Building Management Computer communicating with a network of WLM2 with BMS interface

Domestic Hot Water Control It is possible to control the domestic hot water temperature with a special clock thermostat to ensure optimum energy saving. A sensor from the thermostat measures the temperature in the storage cylinder. A zone valve is then controlled via the WLM master, which in turn activates the boiler on demand. The under floor heating pump will NOT be activated 2-Wired type WLCT2-19/HW Wireless type WLCT2-29/HW 29/HW Boiler Hot Water cylinder Special WLCT2-19/HW sensor to enable control of the Hot Water Temperature Hot Water Sensor Automatic day and night temperature. Only for Control of Domestic Hot Water cylinders. Pre-programmed, requires only actual day and time to be set. Programs can be changed. External Sensor must be connected. WLM- BA/FS

Radiator Control It is possible to control a radiator circuit room temperature with a special Room Controller to ensure optimum energy saving. The thermostat measures the temperature in the room, and a zone valve is then controlled via the WLM master, which in turn activates the boiler on demand. Boiler Radiator Special WLCT2-19/R or WLCT2-29/R controller to enable control of a Radiator zone 2-Wired type WLCT2-19/R Wireless type WLCT2-29/R 29/R Automatic comfort and setback temperature. Only controlof of zones heated by radiators. Pre-programmed, requires only actual time and day to be set. Programs can be changed. WLM- BA/FS

2 Stage Heating Control If there is a need for enabling a secondary heat source in a room (e.g. a backup electrical radiator), it is possible to use a special room controller that will control two separate outputs. Additional heat source in the room Special WLCT-19/2 or WLCT-29/2 controller to enable control of a 2 step zone The second output will be activated only if the temperature cannot be achieved within a preset time period and a programmed hysteresis. Boiler Stage 2 WLM- BA/FS Stage 1 Room with additional heat source

System Check System check: Correct operation of the system can be checked using a special Install Mode. This enables the installer to individually test and prove each output without the normal delays in the system. System check is enabled by setting the Masters DIP 1 switch to ON. While using the system check it is possible to activate and deactivate outputs by changing the temperature settings from minimum to maximum on the Room Sensors / Room Controllers.

Interconnection of WLM2 products Interconnections: For easy installation, interconnections between master modules, master and add on modules, and master and wireless receivers, are made by pre-wired plug in RJ14 connectors (like telephone plugs) For connecting the WLM2 add on modules to WLM2 masters, a plug in connector is provided with the add on module. A WLRC2 wireless receiver is also connected to a WLM2 master, using the plug in connector provided with the receiver. For connecting a WLM2 master to another master, a plug in connector kit is available (WLM-NET)
