California's romance with the mission and hacienda life will be addressed. And finally, the gardens of Santa Barbara will take center stage to demonstrate how these influences dictated the "indoor-outdoor" living unique to the Santa Barbara Mediterranean architectural and garden style. Included will be the study of 2-3 local extant estates - tours and study groups. Prerequisites: Not open to freshmen.
