OFFICIAL BACHELOR DEGREE IN INTERIOR DESIGN Equivalent, in all respects, to a University Degree granting access to the Official Master. Higher Art Education in Interior Design adapted to the European Higher Education Area. An interior designer should be able to analyze, research, design and direct interior design project teams and implementation teams, as well as to act as a direct intermediary before the public administration from its professional scope. The LCI Interior Design course is our response to the growing demand for this professional career, in a sector that now demands increasingly-advanced training and preparation. Society and the business sector need talent that is capable of providing know-how based on both cognitive and functional skills, while providing real-world solutions to everyday situations. Interior design is the implementation of creative knowledge in the developmental process of a product, as well as being a service in a living environment. The proper use of interior design helps to increase value, reduce costs and improve the efficiency of production processes and productivity, as it integrates the dimension of aesthetics with functional, economic, social, cultural and environmental factors.

PROFESSIONAL PROFILES The main working areas of a interior designer are: Housing and interior spaces design for the house. Design of commercial and entertainment spaces. Design for administrative spaces. Design for cultural, educative and fun spaces. Design for temporary spaces. Rehabilitation of houses. Landscaping and design of public spaces. Business management of creative activities. Design of interior spaces of different transport systems. Works, measures and budget management and risk prevention in the field of interior design. Project management in the field of interior design. Research and teaching.

TECHNICAL SHEET The duration of these studies is 4 years and 240 ECTS credits, according to the European Credit Transfer System. Languages: Catalan, Spanish and English. Price: On request ITINERARIES Commercial spaces House and furniture Temporary spaces @ Circular Studio

STRUCTURE Basic training Introductory courses enabling students to acquire the fundamental knowledge required to study the specialized subjects as the course progresses. These are essential. Specific compulsory training Core training In this group of subjects you will find more specific material and the student will be asked to acquire and master knowledge, techniques, and manufacturing processes. Optional This set of subjects make up the specialization body of the studies and are always divided into three possible itineraries, from which the students can choose. Students will be asked a plus to add personal initiative for experimentation and ability to innovate. The spark that makes you different. Mobility programs LCI Barcelona, Official School of Higher Education in Design, is part of the LCI Education Network. Therefore, students have the possibility of completing a part of their study program in another LCI Education campus, thanks to the Studies Abroad program. Also students may apply for exchanges with European universities and schools through the ERASMUS+ program. These exchanges will be completed during the second half of the third year. External internships Implementation of everything the student has learned. The center offers students a long list of partnership agreements with companies, but also allows students to seek alternatives on their own. End-of-course project Under the personalized supervision of a tutor, an active working professional of the center, students will research and create the End-of-course project. Apply all your skills to get the best result!

INTERNSHIP AND JOB BANK Students relationship with the business and professional world begins through internships in companies in their third year of studies. These internships are provided and tutored by the School. Students in their last year of studies may, as an option, apply for professional internship. We are currently collaborating with the most important companies and institutions in the design field. These agreements have forged direct links that have allowed us to acquire first-hand knowledge of the constantly changing demands of the working environment to inform our training provision, as well as the opportunity to offer our students a first glimpse of the professional world, empowering them to acquire the skills and essential knowledge they need for their professional development.

FAQ

Are the Official Higher Degrees in Design equivalent to university degrees? Yes. They are framed within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and they constitute the first cycle or grade required by the EHEA leading to postgraduate studies. With the Official Higher Degree in Design, can I access a master or a state competitive examination? Yes. The Official Higher Degree in Design will allow you to access an official master, a subsequent PhD and competitive examinations for public administration. If the Official Higher Degrees in Design are equivalent to the Degrees, why have they got a different classification? The classification depends on the center where they are taught. If they are taught in a university they are called Degrees and if they are taught in a School of Higher Education in Design they are called Higher Degrees, although the only difference is the access. In Spain there are over 140 Schools of Higher Education in Design. Will my degree have the same value as a university degree? Yes. Higher arts education is equivalent, in all respects, to a university degree. You will be able to ask for state scholarships, study with an Erasmus and your Degree will have recognition at European level, both academically and professionally. As a student of a School of Higher Education in Design, can I access the Erasmus program? Yes. LCI Barcelona has the Erasmus University Charter since 2007 and numerous partner universities/schools all around Europe. Can I access a master in the European Higher Education Area? And a master in the US or any other country outside the EHEA? Yes. You can access any master of any country in the European Higher Education. For other countries, it will depend on the local regulations and the access requirements of each school. And will I get the European Supplement to the Degree? Yes, with the same conditions as university students, as specified in the publication of the Official Spanish Gazette in which the rules of the regulation Grado en Diseño, BOE1614/2009 art. 6.4. are established. And will I be able to apply for public grants? Yes. You will be able to ask for study grants from the Ministry of Education convened every year, as well as other national and international scholarships. Has the Official Higher Degree in Design the same didactic structure as the Degree? Yes. The duration is 4 academic years, 140 ECTS. The syllabus includes courses in basic training, specific compulsory training, optional, external internship and end-of-course project.

ADMISSIONS Higher Arts Education is regulated by Royal Decree 633/2010, of 14 May 2010 (BOE no. 137 05.06.2010). In order to access candidates must meet the following criteria: To hold the baccalaureate or equivalent To have passed the university admission test for students over 25 years Students aged 18 or over who do not hold these qualifications are subject to a test in which they must demonstrate sufficient knowledge in relation to the baccalaureate objectives. In each of these three cases, the student must also pass the Specific Admission Test in which the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for these studies will be assessed. Persons holding one of the following qualifications will have direct access to the studies: Higher Degree of Fine Arts or equivalent Degree or Graduate degree in Fine Arts Degree of Technician in Fine Arts and Design. GRANTS AND STUDY AID Students can request throughout their training general and mobility grants and study aids from the Ministry of Education through the Departament d Ensenyament (Department of Education). In order to process this type of aid, the school provides the necessary documents and manages the process. In addition to these grants, LCI Barcelona provides scholarships to reward students graduating with excellence in the ordinary examinations.
