City of Pacifica Beautification Task Force Beautification Project Site Plan: Project Description: Name:

Description: Project Priority: Location: AP#: Owner/s: Site Layout: Development Plan: Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 Photos: Recommended Plant Materials: Suggested Design Layout: Notes: The teams that were assigned to develop ideas for the different areas were asked to give the initial reports. The ideas presented for the Pacific Manor area were: The Pacific Manor area was divided into two main sections. One area being the 600 foot strip adjacent to Manor Shopping center and the other area being the 800 foot section along the freeway. The suggestion is to create a list of possible projects for these areas that would have ascending levels of difficulty. This would allow any specific volunteer group to pick a project from the list that would match the available time and manpower that the group had to offer. The ideas presented for the Sharp Park area were: Level 1 weed removal and litter pick up was recommended for the two mile long section between the intersection of Francisco Boulevard and Paloma Avenue and the intersection of Clarendon Road and Francisco Boulevard. General cleaning up of the area was recommended for the golf course frontage along Francisco Boulevard. Trimming of the Ceanothus bushes was recommended at the Sharp Park Library.

Ideas for the Grace McCarthy Vista Point include: 1) Replace missing plaques. 2) General cleanup and plant pruning a couple of times a year. 3) Planting of the center strip. 4) General cleanup around the City organization sign. Planting of flowers at the intersection of Sharp Park Road and Gypsy Hill Road. Cleaning up and foliage trimming of the area around the GGNRA sign behind the Moose Lodge on Mori s Point Road. The ideas presented for the Linda Mar area focused mainly on the Linda Mar center strips and included: Removal of small trees that are obstructing the view. Removal of 80 to 90 percent of the existing plants. Replacement with plans that will not grow over four feet high. Landscaping that would reduce the tendency for pedestrians to cut across the islands. Replacement of the existing irrigation system with a drip irrigation system. Three areas with design features that might be incorporated into the Linda Mar center strips are: 1) Planted islands at Harding Park. 2) Northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge. 3) The intersection of Highway 92 and Highway 1. The Beautification Task Force was again divided into groups in order to continue evaluating areas and making recommendations. The new groups are as follows: David Martinez and Wendy Santiago are to work on designing a landscape plan for the Linda Mar center strips and the Manor Shopping Center. Susan Vellone, Ann Long and Michael Mooney are to make suggestions regarding the Crespi Community Center and the Oddstad Boulevard center strips. Ginny Jaquith and John Edwards are to work on projects in the northern part of Pacifica Chris Porter and Jerry Crow are to make suggestions regarding the intersection of Highway 1 and Rockaway Beach Avenue and the entrance to Pedro Point from Highway 1. The final topic covered was the recommendation for Earth Day Projects.
