Convenience range, frost free Based on the static range, develop a cost efficient range of Frost free 60cm combi bottom models to meet the growing mass market price for frost free combi bottom products.
Frost Free Generation 1 - Product range CBFF340 CBFF380
Bigger internal capacity The Convenience range offers an extra 10-15% usable storage capacity compared to the actual models with the same external dimensions. This has been obtained with Full height side panels Removing the conventional top and leaving only a front panel Reducing the plinth to 5 cm Optimizing the internal layout of the appliances Model Height Gross cap. Models with Electronic Control ERF2021 + Dual Smart The electronic models are equipped with a new electronic control, consisting of: Power Board ERF2021 User Interface Dual Smart It offers quasi-independent temperature control in the 2 compartments of an 1-compressor combi, using separate temperature sensors and an intelligent balance heater This type of electronic control can be used on models with staic freezer too
Power Board ERF2021
User Interface with LCD
Dual Smart 2 rotary temperature selectors (potentiometers), with maxmiddle-min settings corresponding approximately to: +8 +5 +2 C in refrigerator -16-18 -24 C in freezer LC Display will normally show ambient temperature, user can switch to refrigerator or freezer temperature Functions : Fast Freezing, Shopping, Freezer temperature alarm

First Power On Press ON/OFF Display shows ambient temperature and the house symbol Temperature alarm symbol flashing, display backlit in red, acoustic alarm on Press function selection button to cancel the acoustic alarm Set desired temperatures in refrigerator and freezer respectively, using the selector potentiometers (N.B.: it is not possible to set an exact numeric value, but only an approximate angular setting)
Temperature Display normally, the ambient temperature will be shown pressing the temperature selection button will scroll through: refrigerator temperature freezer temperature ambient temperature after 10 seconds without any action, the display will revert to ambient temperature
Switch off Apliance Press ON/OFF for about 1 sec Countdown 3-2-1 Display blank
Fast Freezing Press function selector button until star symbol is shown in display Freezer temperature is set to the value corresponding to the lowest setting To cancel, press function selector button until star symbol disappears Maximum duration: 52 hours
Shopping (Supercool) Press function selector button until shopping symbol is shown in display Refrigerator temperature is set to the value corresponding to the lowest setting To cancel, press function selector button until shopping symbol disappears Maximum duration: 6 hours
Freezer Temperature Alarm Activated when freezer temperature is above - 8 C Display backlit in red, flashing Alarm symbol in display Display shows freezer temperature Buzzer sounds (can be cancelled with function selection button) If freezer temperature drops below - 8 C, the buzzer sound will be cancelled Optical alarm (alarm symbol & red backlighting) remains When pressing the function selection button, the highest temperature reached in the freezer is shown, after which the optical alarm is also cancelled

Location of Balance Heater Balance heater not replaceable (under fridge evaporator)
Wiring to Balance Heater
Balance Heater 16 W The balance heater is controlled by triac ACS2 on the power board By using phase cutting, the heater can be used at variable power The software will determine the power level based on ambient temperature, and of actual demands from the 2 compartments, as measured by the air sensors This ensures a good control at ambient tempeartures as defined for SN/N/ST climatic class (10-38 C) In case of heater failure, the appliance will work more or less satisfactorily (i.e. like a conventional 1-compressor combi) at ambient temperatures above 16 C (N/ST)
Control Limits of Balance Heater at Different Ambient Temp. -15-16 -17 Freezer Packages Temperature -18-19 -20-21 -22-23 10 25 38-24 -25 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Fridge Air Temperature
Defrost First defrost routine: 5 hours after power-on, or after power reset The following defrost routines are initiated after 14, 30 or 71 hours - depending on a series of factors: activation of fast freezing, accumulated door opening, compressor duty cycle, time limit reached at previous defrost The defrost routine will start after the next compressor cutout (if the compressor continues to run for more than 2,5 hours, it will be forcibly stopped) Fan off at 2 min after start of defrost routine Heater on 5 min after start of defrost routine Minimum defrost time: 20 min
Defrost Under normal conditions, the defrost heater will be cut off by the fixed bimetal thermostat, which opens at +8 C After the minimum defrost time of 20 minutes has elapsed, the electronic control starts checking if the thermostat has opened Once this has happened, the heater triac will also switch off the supply to mark defrost end Compressor start 5 min after defrost end Fan start 3 min after compressor start
Defrost Safety: Temperature limit + 40 C (thermostat in series with the other side of the heater Time limit 60 min
Service Mode The special functions: forced defrost service mode component activation are not accessible because of the separate bi-polar main switch
