Wiring methods Pick one method to foow, depending upon your dishwasher and oca codes. a Direct wire method (cdbe connecting dishwasher to a junction box). Eectrica Shock Hazard Disconnect eectrica power at the service pane (fuse box or circuit breaker box). Faiure to do so coud resut in serious injury or death. Recommended grounding method - 1. Disconnect power suppy. 2. Run fexibe, armored or non-metaic sheathed, copper cabe (with grounding wire) from fused disconnect, circuit breaker or junction box through the 3/4 cabinet hoe to the dishwasher ocation. The cabe must extend 24 from the back wa. The hoe cut through a wood cabinet shoud be sanded unti smooth. The hoe cut through a meta cabinet must be covered with a grommet (Part No. 302797), avaiabe from your oca deaer or parts suppier. A U.L.-isted strain reief or conduit connector must be instaed at each end of the power suppy cabe (at the dishwasher and at the junction box). Wire sizes (COPPER WRE ONLY) must conform with the rating of the dishwasher.

Connect the white and back wires of the power suppy cabe to the white and back eads in the termina box with twist-on wire connectors. (See Figure 3.1 4. Loosen the front nut on the grounding connection stud ocated on the back of the termina box. Do Not -sz: oosen the rear nut on the,, grounding connection stud. Form the bare 0 grounding wire into a U-shaped hook. Wrap the grounding wire hook around the grounding connection stud between the two nuts on the stud. Securey tighten the front nut over the grounding wire. 5. Check that strain reief or conduit connector screws are tight. Repace termina box cover. B. Power suppy cord method (connecting dishwasher to outet). Loca codes may permit the use of a U-L.- isted, fexibe, three-conductor, power suppy cord terminated with a threeprong, grounding-type pug. t is recommended that cord kit (Part No. 4317824), avaiabe at your oca deaer or parts suppier, be used. Foow the instructions packaged with the power suppy cord kit. f the cord kit is not avaiabe ocay, the fexibe cord used must be a U.L.-isted, three-conductor, 1 &gauge cord that meets the Nationa Eectrica Code, ANS/NFPA 70 - atest edition and oca codes and ordinances. The ength of the cord must not exceed six feet. t must be routed so it does not touch the dishwasher motor or the ower portion of the dishwasher tub. A strain reief (Part No. 596171), avaiabe at your oca deaer or parts suppier, or a simiar part must be used to secure the fexibe cord to the dishwasher frame or termina box. The fexibe cord must be pugged into a mating, 3-prong, grounding-type wa receptace, grounded in accordance with the Nationa Eectrica Code ANS/NFPA 70 - atest edition,* and a oca codes and ordinances. Foow the instructions packaged with the fexibe cord. Recommended method grounding j-prong, groundnghe, wa receptace power suppy cord Figure 4 For your persona safety, this appiance must be grounded. A power suppy cord having a 3-prong grounding pug must be used. t is the persona responsibiity and obigation of the customer to have a propery grounded, 3-prong wa receptace instaed by a quaified eectrican. The receptace shoud be instaed on the rear or side wa of the cabinet next to the dishwasher opening. Water requirements The hot water ine to the dishwasher must provide between 15-120 psi water pressure. The hot water heater shoud be set to deiver 140 F water temperature to the dishwasher for best resuts. Use 3/8 minmum 0-D. copper tubing or /2 mnmum pastic tubing inet ine. Dishwasher inet vave has 3/8 N.P.T. interna pipe thread. Drain requirements ^ 20 mn. to foor The drain hose MUST have a high drain oop, 20 minimum ABOVE FLOOR, to prevent backfow or water siphoning out of dishwasher during operation. NOTE: An air gap MUST BE USED in the high drain oop if the drain hose is connected to house pumbing ower than 20 above the foor. Drain hose, suppied, meets AHAM DW- 1 test standards, Cut - /2 hoe in cabinet wa for drain hose. Additiona drain ine (a minimum of /2.D. and no onger than 20 feet) can be used if needed. Now start... Turn shutoff vave to the OFF position. Eectrica Shock Hazard Disconnect eectrica power at the service pane (fuse box or circuit breaker box). Faiure to do so coud resut in eectrica shock or other persona nurv. eectrca wrng aternate eectrca wrna ocaton \? 6 4 n Cut a - /2 maximum hoe for power suppy cord or a 3/4 hoe for direct wiring in the cabinet or foor for the eectrica wiring to pass through. f this hoe is cut in a wood cabinet, sand the hoe unti it is smooth. f the hoe is cut in a meta cabinet, the hoe must be covered by a grommet (Part No. 302797), avaiabe at your oca deaer or parts suppier. nsta wa receptace on rear or side wa of a cabinet next to dishwasher opening. nsta a 3/4 U. L.-isted conduit connector to connect the fexibe armored or non-metaic sheathed, copper cabe (with grounding wire) to the fused disconnect, circuit breaker or junction box. Run the cabe through the hoe in the cabinet opening. The cabe shoud extend 24 from the back wa.

---- Recommended drain hose connection methods: Drain hose to air gap to waste tee. ar-gap kt (Part No. 300096) 5 n toe p Remove the 4 screws attaching access pane and toe pane to dishwasher using a /4 hex socket, nut driver or Phiips screwdriver. Remove access pane and toe pane. 6 Measure height of cabinet opening from the front edge of the underside of cabinet opening to foor. Check chart for that height opening. Put the whees in the required position. The dishwasher shoud be instaed as eve as possibe from front to back. Loosen and then turn front eveers the number of times indicated in the char-t. 8 w Latch dishwasher door. Push dishwasher into pace, siding drain hose through hoe cut in cabinet opening. Do not pinch power suppy cord or kink power suppy cabe between dishwasher and cabinet. Check that front eveing egs are firmy against the foor. Aign dishwasher door with cabinet doors, so that spacing is the same on both sides. 9 m Connect drain hose to an air gap or waste tee using one of the recommended or aternate methods. Turn front eveers (each turn s approximatey /16 n height). f connecting drain hose to an air gap or waste tee, cut end of drain hose as shown. Secure drain hose with screw-type or spring-type hose camp (camp type varies with modes). Do Not cut drain hose when connecting to a 7/8 disposer connector. Knock out pug from disposer inet. Secure drain hose with hose camp provided. DO NOT cut ribbed section to shorten drain hose. Entry must be above trap. nsta air gap according to kit instructions. f other brands of air gaps are used, they shoud be checked to make sure they aow for the same air fow. Connect the air gap to a waste tee or disposer using a rubber connector*. Most disposers have 7/8 connectors or specia connectors are avaiabe at pumbing suppy houses. Be sure to remove the disposer pug befor connecting the drain hose. You may need to remove disposer from sink to remove the pug. You may have this type connector... drain Numbers correspond to steps. 7 n Put spring-type drain hose camp over connector. Push drain hose onto connector. Use piers to open camp and side camp over drain hose and connector. Check that drain hose is secure. f screw-type camp is used instead of spring-type camp, use a 5/ 6 nut driver to tighten drain hose securey to connector. To minimize noise and vibration, route drain hose to avoid contact with door springs, motor, water ine, cabinet or fooring. Do Not run drain hose over top of tub. Drain hose Foor Damage Tit dishwasher backwards on whees when moving across foor. Faiure to do so may cause damage to foor covering. Pane C

Aternate drain hose connection methods: Drain hose to waste tee.,~~~~~~t~r abbve trap. H f oca pumbing codes permit, dishwasher drain hose may be connected directy to waste tee. The waste tee connection MUST be made ahead of the trap and a minimum of 20 inches above the foor. Drain hose to disposer. 20 minimum cearance to foor f oca pumbing codes permit, dishwasher drain hose may be connected directy to disposer. Most disposers have 7/8 connectors or specia connectors are avaiabe at pumbing suppy houses. Be sure to remove the disposer pug before connecting the drain hose. You may need to remove disposer from sink to remove the pug. A parts are avaiabe through your deaer or oca hardware or pumbing store. Pace a newspaper, arge sheet of paper or a towe over bottom of dishwasher to prevent screws or other items from entering the pump area when securing dishwasher to countertop. Persona njury/product Damage Hazard The dishwasher must be secured to the countertop to keep it from titing when door is open. Do Not drop screws in dishwasher tub. f screws shoud fa into pump, pump and motor damage may occur. Faiure to foow these instructions may resut in persona injury or product damage. 13 n Secure dishwasher to countertop with two, No.-10 x /2 Phiips-head screws from parts bag. You MUST secure dishwasher to keep it from titing when door is opened or cosed. Do Not drop screws in dishwasher tub. Remove paper from bottom of dishwasher. 14 \ Equay spaced \mrn @ w Open door approximatev 3 and check for equa $&zing betw een inner door and tub sides. f necessary, oosen screws that fasten dishwasher to countertop and shift tub. Tighten screws. 17 m Check that a parts have been instaed and no steps were skipped. Check that you have a the toos you started with. 18 m Turn bn eectric suoov. Start dishwasher and aow it to cb~bete a cyce. Check that dishwasher is working propery and that there are no water eaks. toe pbne - pane 19 n Repace the access pane and toe pane. Turn on water suppy and check for eaks. 11 H Check eectrica requirements. Be sure you have correct eectrica suppy and recommended grounding method. See Panes A and B for $roper conneckon. 15 n Check door for orooer operation.
