Lone Worker Duress Security Hazard Zone Remote Area Health Care DURESS & SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES www.duressandsafety.com.au

Creating safer environments for people Increasingly organisations recognise the need to provide improved protection for people in their care. Whether they are employees in an unsupervised area of the workplace, patients in an aged care facility, plant workers or a mine worker on a bulldozer 10km away, they'd like you to know quickly if a worker is suddenly incapacitated or has a problem. The technology that supports this urgent need is broadly known as Duress Systems. Wired & Wireless offers a full range of tailored solutions for any need including our unique PACCS system. PACCS stands for Platform for Advanced Communication, Control and Security and is an economical extremely flexible system for leading edge security in any location - across a room, a building, a site, a city or a country. What system is right for me? A duress system comprises a set of components brought together in a tailored system to satisfy your unique requirements. The units that make up the system will differ from need to need. Here are the main questions you need to consider. Coverage area Message activation Message type Message receiver Acknowledge & escalate Monitored/ non-monitored Number of transmitters Across a room, house, large building, site, city, country. Message sent by sender pushing button, man-down tilt switch or no-motion detection. A built-in switch detects if sender is lying horizontal or not moving. Or pull cord where a message is sent if unit is pulled from the sender s belt. The transmitter unit (carried by the person) activates an auditory message such as an alarm, a visual message like a flashing strobe light, a voice message, SMS or sends a message to a computer, or combinations of these. An on-site or off-site telephone or mobile, a computer, an alarm, a light, a pager or other receiving device The message can escalate through five or more phones. If the first doesn t answer, then it goes to the next and so on. The person who finally answers then cancels the escalation (acknowledgement). The message can also go to a central monitoring point like a security company or computer for record keeping. How many sending units are required? (How many people require a unit at any given time) DURESS & SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES

A Duress system comprises three broad functions Duress alert transmitter (usually carried by the user) Message Centre and Master Transceiver which receives and processes the messages and re-directs appropriate alerts End recipients of the message (a phone or mobile, a flashing light or alarm, a computer or a security monitor.) Systems range from simple to complex. On-Site - Duress On-Site - Duress, Man Down On-Site - Duress, Man Down, Voice On-Site - Duress, Man Down, Voice, SMS Messaging & Alarm Wide area - Private Network up to 10km Wide area - Public Network - anywhere in GSM, satellite coverage anywhere in Australia Why a tailored solution is imperative While the end need for personal security is a common goal of every duress system, the way that system is configured can be very different depending on a variety of factors. These include the type of action required, the size of the coverage area, geography, the architecture of the building, availability of cellular coverage, even the need for GPS positioning. Off-the-shelf systems frequently fail to deliver and require more costly re-engineering. Duress Systems International with its highly qualified engineers and technicians tailors then builds your system by integrating a range of leading brand hardware and software to create a solution that best fits your particular need.

1. Mini PACCS System and options The mini-paccs on-site man-down and duress units are designed for use by people working alone in industrial, health care, aged care, security and other high-risk facilities. Belt units, wrist-worn units and pendants can be used to activate the duress alarm. Mini PACCS TRANSMITTER OPTIONS mp BeltT man Down Belt-carried transmitter The mini PACCS belt units has five types of events: Distress press the two emergency buttons simultaneously. Man-down / no movement when the wearer falls down. Pull-cord when transmitter is pulled off the wearer Test for testing the transmitter. Tamper an unauthorised person opens transmitter. mp Pendant waterproof transmitter A miniature pendant transmitter for emergency and control applications in wireless security systems, home automation and remote control systems. Suitable for wet environments such as factories, hospitals, gardens, pools and wet conditions Fully waterproof Comfortable miniature attractive design Superior transmission range Smart anti-collision algorithm supports multiple simultaneous transmissions Long-life lithium battery (3years+) visible and transmitted low battery indication Neck-chain and key-ring accessories included mp BeltL man Down Belt-carried transmitter This stylish man-down unit functions both as a standard manual emergency alert button and a fall detector, which automatically triggers a call for immediate help. The fall detection is enabled by a built-in tilt sensor that can sense when the unit worn by the user tilts at more than 60o; for a predefined period of time. This activates an alert message to the control panel, which notifies the monitoring station, enabling help to be sent immediately. This wireless waterproof transmitter has a factory-sealed case and can be used safely in wet environments often found in light or heavy industry, and also in bathrooms, kitchens, showers, gardens, and pools. mp WristT waterproof Wrist transmitter Ideal for personal emergency signalling where the transmitter needs to be in instant reach at all times. Easy to wear as wristband Attractive, comfortable, ergonomic design 3 volt coin-type lithium battery; long battery life (3years+) Visible and transmitted low battery indications mp Fixed push button Wireless or Wired Suitable for permanent placement on wall or desk Up to five years battery life Low battery warning Backlight with on/off switch DURESS & SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES

Mini PACCS MESSAGE CENTRE Calls up to five pre-designated phone numbers with pre-recorded message with your choice of escalation The message centre is the heart of the Mini PACCS system, receiving, processing and distributing the critical alarm messages to the right people. The message centre comprises receivers, transmitters, diallers, with their relevant interfaces, stores and distributes pre-recorded messages from pre-programmed phone numbers, sending them out a range of receiving units such as mobile and land line phones, computers and warning devices such as strobe lights and audible alarms. Messages can be voice, SMS and even GPS coordinates for pin-pointing duress locations. Siren / Strobe Can be attached to Message Centre or placed elsewhere, for visual and auditory warning to people in immediate area. Enables voice and data alarms to be sent over GSM network Highly secure using unique factory-programmed randomly selected digital alarm ID code selected from 16 million possible combinations Anti collision algorithm prevents signal jamming Optional high gain antenna capability for areas of poor GSM coverage Excellent rage (50-100m indoors and 200-300m outdoors with option for repeater unit to extend signal) Remotely accessible for re-programming of phone numbers and messages Mains power with battery back-up option Expandable to multiple users Supplied as Plug & Play for simple amateur installation Powder-coated steel enclosure

2. PACCS - Duress - Integrated with Voice and Text Messaging The PACCS platform also offers the ability to integrate with site wide PABX s and IPPBX systems to deliver high quality voice and SMS. Examples of application of the PACCS PBX / NETcall range from personal alarm systems to handling of alarms in production lines or emergency teams at hospitals. Other advanced alarm and messaging applications where acknowledge, absent handling, data from pocket units, and alarms from external equipment are included is another example of application. The PACCS PBX / NETcall can be programmed to take care of alarms and other events from PACCS DECT handsets or other 3rd party software. The PACCS PBX / NETcall can react on input from alarm modules, personal alarms with location information, messages, and data from handsets. Different actions can be taken for different types of input. For example; send a message with request for acknowledge, activate an output in the system, and send information to an Alarm Location Client. If absent information or a positive or negative acknowledgement is sent, and the PACCS PBX / NETcall can take another action. The input information can be processed, for example a location code can be translated to a text string. System variables that contain information on, for example, a current shift can be created in the PACCS PBX / NETcall. The value of a system variable can be altered on input from the system, for example data from a handset. An action can be delayed in the PACCS PBX / NETcall, which provides the possibility to time schedule actions on an input. The programming of the Event Handler is performed with help of a web browser. When the PACCS PBX / NETcall receives an alarm, a chain of reactions can be started. First some information in the alarm is processed, for example the location of a fixed alarm button is translated to a descriptive text. Then the information can be put together to a message that can be sent to a pocket unit in the system. If a response has not been received with a preset time further actions can be taken. Having a wireless PABX handset, duress, man-down, lone-worker protect and advanced text messaging all in the one handset is a very powerful option. DURESS & SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES

Mini PACCS wide area Duress City and Country mobility The Mini-PACCS Wide Area Duress has been designed to be a compact GPS device which can be used for security and surveillance purposes. It has been specifically designed to be portable and rugged allowing it to be used in a variety of ways including surveillance, personal protection and asset protection such as the tracking of vehicles and boats. The unit is surprisingly small, fitting into the palm of the hand, but is still packed with useful features such as PACCS Alert. When the "Alert" button is pushed the device immediately sends information on the units position, direction and speed to a designated contact and establishes a one way communication channel an invaluable feature for personal protection. The size of the unit also makes it ideal for monitoring and surveying the position of vehicles and machinery such as cars, caravans, and boats. The unit can be discreetly hidden in a vehicle and using the "geo-fencing" function an automatic alarm trans-mission is activated if the vehicle moves beyond predetermined boundaries set by the user. The alarm is an SMS sent to two designated phone numbers with information about the object, its position, whether it is still moving and it's direction and speed. Additionally the GSM functionality means it is possible to call the unit and establish a one way communication channel. The Locator can also be tracked using our Security Service. Positions are delivered to the Security Service Centre, here they are matched against a database of street locations and names, then the descriptive location is sent to the authorised recipient(s) via SMS text message e.g.: ALERT: "John Citizen (+61411234567) is requesting Assistance in the vicinity of Wellington Street, Colin Street, Sydney, NSW REQUEST: "John Citizen (+61411234567) is recorded in the vicinity of Wellington Street, Colin Street, Sydney, NSW"
