SUMMARY This document is intended to be a reference for communicating with the Flygt APP721 controller using MODBUS RTU communication. Communication settings to the unit are as follows: MODBUS RTU, 8 data bits, No Parity, 1 Stop Bit. Connecting to the RTU will require a standard 9-pin serial cable or null modem 9-pin cable, depending on what type of equipment you are connecting. Modems and radios typically require standard cables, whereas PLC and direct computer connections typically require null modem connections. Plug in your serial cable to COM1 of the APP721 and ensure that the communications settings in the software are set to the following: Station ID: <<enter the MODBUS ID for the APP700 controller>> ID (fixed): <<enter the MODBUS ID for the APP700 controller>> Communic. COM1: RS232 Full Duplex Speed COM1: <<choose a communications speed, typically 9600 or above>> Protocol COM1: MODBUS RTS Delay COM1: <<Pick a delay before sending data after receiving a message, typically 20-50ms) >> 3X / 4X MODBUS Read Reg 16- bit Reg 32-bit 205 2410-2411 206 2412-2413 238 2476-2477 239 2478-2479 243 2486-2487 244 2488-2489 245 2490-2491 246 2492-2493 247 2494-2495 248 2496-2497 Scaling Min Max Description R/W? 1 = 1 s 0 9999 Alarm delay for digital alarms. 1 = 1 s 0 9999 Alarm delay for analogue alarms. 1 = 1 s - - Generator Runtime, today R 1 = 1 h - - Generator Runtime, continuous R - - - Generator Starts, today R - - - Generator Starts, continuous R - 0 4 Max pumps allowed to run while a generator is running - 0 4 Max pumps allowed to run under normal conditions - - - Pump 1 Failure Output Conditions: P1 Leakage, P1 High Temp, P1 Tripped, P1 High Current, P1 Low Current, P1 Switched Off, P1 No Response, P1 Low Capacity; P1 High Capacity - - - Pump 2 Failure Output Conditions: P2 Leakage, P2 High Temp, P2 Tripped, P2 High Current, P2 Low Current, P2 Switched Off, P2 No Response, P2 Low 1
