FIREPRO When it comes to fire safety, at Rockwool we re focused on providing solutions that don t just meet the regulations, but exceed them. An innovation in fire protection We re committed to researching and developing products that will save people, property, business and the environment in the event of a fire. Our FirePro range is specially designed to provide a comprehensive choice of superior fire protection and firestopping solutions across a range of applications including cladding, partitions, ducting systems, pipe work, fire walls and compartment walls. Through continued innovation of the FirePro range, we are now able to offer a FirePro Coated Batt that delivers unrivalled fire performance. Our latest product development has been achieved following extensive investment in manufacturing. By fully automating the production process we can give you the assurance of a product that performs every time. Superior fire-resistance at its core Our coated batts have Rockwool stone wool at their heart. Manufactured from natural diabase rock, it possesses inherent fire resistance. In fact, it can withstand temperatures in excess of 1000 c. This property enables Rockwool insulation products to achieve a non-combustible (EN A1) reaction to fire classification. However, the performance of a coated batt also depends upon the fire-rated ablative finish. Spray-applying the ablative coating by hand often results in uneven coverage, which can jeopardize the integrity of the batt in a fire. Automation of this process ensures consistent thickness and coverage, delivering superior fire resistance. 04 FIREPRO FIRESTOPPING AND PENETRATION SEALS PRODUCT GUIDE

Certified performance at a cost-effective price Testing of the FirePro Coated Batt was performed to the latest version of the CEN standard pren1366-3. Following an intensive testing programme, the product achieved a unique two-hour rating for both fire insulation and integrity, a four-hour integrity rating for metal pipes and cables and a two-hour integrity rating for plastic pipes. And it all comes at a cost in line with the lowest priced competitors. One product fits all The FirePro Coated Batt can be used across a range of applications to suit the requirements. Available in one standard size to avoid potential errors on site, the batt is simple to use but versatile in its capabilities. FIREPRO COATED BATT FirePro Coated Batt is used to firestop mechanical and electrical services where they pass through fire-rated walls and floors. It is manufactured by spraying high-density Rockwool with a fire-protective ablative coating. ROCKWOOL COATED BATT CONLIT BANDAGE ROCKWOOL INSULATED FIRE SLEEVE CABLE TRAY ROCKWOOL FIRE TUBE 06 FIREPRO FIRESTOPPING AND PENETRATION SEALS PRODUCT GUIDE

Installation The FirePro Coated Batts are simply cut and friction fitted between the services and the edges of the wall or floor void to completely seal the void. The fire-protective coating is used as an adhesive to bond sections of the batt together and to the surrounding structure, to form a fire-resistant barrier. All joints in the batt are pointed in FirePro Acoustic Intumescent Sealant to complete the seal. Plastic pipework needs to be sleeved with FirePro Insulated Fire Sleeve prior to installation of the FirePro Coated Batts. It must be noted that plastic pipes (PVC, ABS and HDPE etc.) must be sleeved with FirePro Insulated Fire Sleeves at the point at which they pass through the Ablative Coated Batt. Similarly to achieve fire resistance insulation (I) with metal pipes such as steel and copper, the pipes must be fully insulated along their length and, for a minimum distance of 500mm either side of the coated batt, this insulation must be Rockwool FirePro FireTube. The joint between the Batt and Fire Sleeve or Fire Tube must be pointed with the FirePro Sealant.
