GAMES COURT SKETCH
Large Generally, trees in grass or paving are the preferred vegeation cover as they take minimal maintenance, minimal space, provide shade and shelter and are a strong design response to a property the size of a school. In habitat areas like the duck walk and skink garden where a neat and tidy aesthetic is less important, a variety of New Zealand native shrubs can be used. Amenity shrub and floral planting should be kept to a minimum but used in high visibility areas such as near the flagpole due to relatively high maintenance requirements. Medium Locally native plants should be the first preferance. These contribute to the sense of place, provide food and habitat for fauna and are more likely to thrive under local conditions.
