Is equipment stored safely / secured when not in use? Are stores tidy with good housekeeping? Are foam mats or any soft play equipment stored in a locked storage area? Are mats/soft play equipment in a good state of repair? Caretaker trained. Lettings are responsible for setting up their own equipment. On gas struts or hinged from wall to avoid lifting. Gym Club responsible but Sports staff trained to set up if and help where necessary and available. Gym Club responsible for checking setup. Annually checked by Sportfix gym club responsible. All lettings have their own public liability insurance and must provide evidence of this or buy into the Council s policy. Lettings are responsible for their own staff and staffing ratios. Gym Club coach always present or club is cancelled. Other groups do not necessarily have coaches. Hall is hired to Severn Gymnastics and Trampoline club who have responsibility for setting up equipment and running their session. Caretaker helps with this when available. Floor suitable. Property Maintenance cover all aspects of maintenance including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, mains wiring, water temperature and showers. Access and egress routes adequate and kept clear of obstruction. Automatic doors can be opened by pushing if electricity is not working. Part time Caretaker undertakes emergency lighting and fire point checks in accordance with recommendations. Records kept. Main store has extractors linked to fire alarm to remove fumes in the event of fire. All portable electrical equipment PAT tested annually by qualified staff. Part time Sport staff put out equipment when they are available. Lettings responsible for checking before use. Part time Sports staff set up for badminton session and monitors session. Centre has a premise licence with Shropshire Council. In accordance with Fire Officer recommendations Fire drills held regularly and recorded. Regular hirers advised annually of evacuation procedures. New hirers given copy upon booking. Fire extinguishers and alarm points checked through Property Maintenance contractors.

Adequate maintenance inspection regime? Adequate cleaning regime? Walls: Surfaces smooth? Any edges, protruding doors etc? Door handles flush? Build up of dust on ledges? Ceilings and lights: Fittings appropriate and resistant to ball games? Fittings secure from collapse? Any trap hazards for balls adjacent to lighting units? Lighting level sufficient to activity? Access arrangements in place for maintenance of light fittings? Seating Unit Electricity: Sufficient power supply for activities and events minimising extension leads? Access to sockets by infants (soft play)? Area subject to periodic building inspection? Granwood floor Cleaned at least twice a week. More often if hall is well used. Sport worker visually checks floor when putting out equipment and checking security. Resealed every 2 3 years, depending on wear, by approved contractors. Fair faced brick walls. Smooth. Climbing wall no longer in use, all projections removed. Emergency exit door handles flush or high level. No ledges to collect dust. Lighting recently replaced recently throughout games hall to improve quality for sports. High level lighting with protection. No low level lighting units. Lighting has two levels to accommodate different needs. Lighting maintained by contractors using cherry pickers or scaffolding. Safe to use but ideally needs to have sides and back fenced to prevent small children crawling underneath. Access needs to be left to clean under structure. Currently, staff closely monitor seating area to prevent access beneath seats. Adequate electrical supply. Floor cleaner requires extension leads but these are of good quality and are regularly visually checked and PAT tested. No low level sockets. Building audit undertaken biannually. Daily checks by Sport worker/caretaker and defects
