All states, including Partial are supported. Five tone groups are supported ( Wormalds A,B,C & Chubb A,B). The IEI Network interface allows existing IEI panels to report on the Tecom Direct Line Network via an E63 concentrator. Cover: The cover is secured by 4 M3 screws. Mounting: The TS2040 IEI Interface is supplied in a small metal enclosure which can be mounted in a convenient location. Mounting holes are provided in the base. Cable entry points are provided by a Knock-out at one end of the enclosure. An Installation kit is included with all connectors required for operation. Dimensions: 182 x 110 x 45 mm Links: TERM: GND: This termination link is fitted if the unit is the first or last device on the RS485 Sublink LAN. See LAN details on page 5. This Link connects the negative of the supply to the chassis and earth lug and should be left in. LEDs: The TS2040 is equipped with five indicator LEDs; PWR UP DN P R +12VDC power indicator. RS485 UpLink Communications to TS2030 (Link). Indicates Interface is replying to polling from the Network Concentrator Link RS485 DownLink Communications from TS2030 (Link). Indicates Interface is receiving polling data from the Network Concentrator Link IEI Poll Indicator. Indicates polling data being sent to the E63 Concentrator, or E62 Panel. IEI Response Indicator. Indicates E62 Panel responding to polling data. (Either directly, or via E63 Concentrator) When system is operating, the Poll LED will indicate a double flash followed by a double flash from the Response LED after a brief delay. LAN connection: The RS485 Sublink LAN is used to connect Network Concentrator Sublinks and IEI Network Interface Sublinks to a main Network Concentrator Link. Sublinks must be connected via a 2 pair twisted shielded data cable (Belden 8723 is recommended) from the LAN connection. The shield of any data cable connected to the Sublink should be connected to earth at one end only. i.e. The Link or Sublink that the other end of the data cable is connected to. It is recommended that where the distance between an IEI Network Interface Sublink and the nearest Link is more than 100 metres, a separate power supply be used to power the Sublink. To power the unit, do not connect + from the LAN. Connect '+' of the local power supply to '+' on the Interface and connect 0 volts from the power supply and 0 volts from the LAN connection to the terminal marked -. See wiring diagrams on page 4. Earthing: The earth terminals on every piece of equipment in the system must be earthed by connecting them all to one common earth point via separate Earth wire run with the LAN cable/s back to the main Network Concentrator Link. The separate Earth wire must be at least 2.5mm5. A heavier guage is recommended for runs of over 500 metres. The "GND" link must remain fitted. The Sublinks must not be connected to a local earth. This method of earthing is the only way to guarantee that the difference in earth potential between any two Network products connected to the LAN remains at an acceptable minimum. Commands Supported by TS2040 IEI Panel Interface: The TS2040 supports all of the TECOM direct-line command sets. These include the following; AN HKS AN HKSL AN HKSLP RN HKS RN HKSLP RS HKS - Activate the IEI sublink, and all of the panels attached. - Activate a downline (0 or 1) on the IEI intetface, and all of the panels on that downline. - Activate an individual IEI panel - Recall the software version from the IEI sublink. - Recall the software version of the IEI panel. - Recall the status of the IEI sublink. RS HKSL - Recall the status of the downline (0 or 1). RS HKSLP MN HKS MN HKSLP RC HKS PN HKSLP PO HKSLP - Recall the status of an IEI panel. - Set the Mapped Address of the IEI sublink and Activate it. - Set the Mapped Address of the IEI panel and Acticate it. - Recall Comm's errors on with the IEI sublink. - Point ON. Relay Control. / Closing Point Number. *See below. - Point OFF. Relay Control. / Opening Point Number. *See below. All other commands will provide data that is of no use to the user. An understanding of the TECOM direct-line HKSLP numbering systems is necessary to appreciate all of these commands. Page 11 contains a Direct Line Network block diagram which explains the numbering system. *Open / Close reporting Control: Each IEI E62 Panel connected to the TS2040, can be programmed to report Open or Close on a user defined Status number. To distinguish the Open / Close reporting control command from the standard Relay Control command, the status number is prefixed with a "1". Numbers in the range 100 to 109 may be used. Status numbers 100 to 108 may be used to program the Opening and Closing Point Status numbers, while Status number 109 is used to remove the Opening or Closing Point Status number if the facility is no longer required. e.g. To program panel 00100 to report a "Close" on Status #0/10, and an "Open" on Status #3, the following commands would be used: PN 00100 100 Report Closing on point status 0 PO 00100 103 Report Opening on point status 3 To program panel 00100 to no longer report a closing, the following command would be used: PN 00100 109 8 TS2040IN.PM5. IEI Panel Numbering: IEI panels are numbered from 0-9 and A-F. This numbering system has been modified for use with the TECOM Direct-Line and the TS2040.
