ISO/TC 211 N 4320 Resolutions of the 42nd plenary meeting of ISO/TC 211 Tromsø, Norway, 2016-06-16/17 Liaison with Small Business Standards ISO/TC 211 appreciates and accepts the request for a category A liaison from Small Business Standards, and instructs the secretariat to inform the ISO Central Secretariat of its approval. Progress of the revision of ISO 19101-2:2008 ISO/TC 211 notes that WG 6 has revised ISO 19101-2:2008 according to the comments received at systematic review and through discussions in the project team. Noting that the comments have been resolved, ISO/TC 211 decides to omit the committee draft stage. ISO/TC 211 requests that the WG 6 convenor distributes the updated version to the WG for their approval, and that the document is forward to the secretariat for a six weeks review by the members. Recommendations on vote on systematic reviews ISO/TC 211 recognizes that the upcoming systematic reviews have a number of standards where the members are requesting guidance on how to vote. Ad hoc group on classification issues Noting the comments on the revision of ISO 19126 (N 3982), ISO/TC 211 decides to establish an ad hoc group on the topic of geographic information classification schemes. The ad hoc group shall develop and present their scope of work for discussion at the next plenary. The ISO/TC 211 accepts the offer from the WG 7 Convenor, Mr. Antony Cooper, to chair the group. 8
ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to send out a call for members of the group before the end of June. Joint work with ISO/TC 59/SC 13 Buildings and civil engineering works Organization of information about construction works Noting the ongoing discussion in WG 10 concerning the GIS-BIM integration and previous resolutions (575, 605, 690), ISO/TC 211 instructs the secretariat to contact the ISO/TC 59/SC 13 secretariat to discuss how to organize joint work between the two committees. Creation of harmonized models at an early stage ISO/TC 211 resolves that every project in ISO/TC 211 that includes a UML model shall create and validate the model in the Harmonized Model before the document becomes a Committee Draft or Draft Technical Specification. In order to support this, the need for a UML model should be explicit in the new work item proposals, and member bodies are encouraged to nominate required expertise. Geographic information standards wiki ISO/TC 211 thanks the International Cartographic Association for its initiative to establish and host a wiki for geographic information standards (ISO/TC 211, OGC and IHO), and the contribution by Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences. ISO/TC 211 encourages its members to maintain the wiki. Offers to host the Secretariat for ISO/TC 211 ISO/TC 211 thanks the national bodies of China, Sweden and Turkey for offering to take on the ISO/TC 211 Secretariat. Further, noting the TMB resolution 66/2016, ISO/TC 211 congratulates Swedish Standards Institute on being selected and looks forward to their successful leadership of ISO/TC 211 from January 2017.
