Southeast Idea # 1012 Benches in Southeast London Parks Add eight more benches into Southeast Parks - specifically Kiwanis & Bonaventure Meadows Parks. Total Cost = $20,000 8 Benches - $20,000 The Age Friendly London Network has determined that more seating is needed in Southeast area parks to encourage more older adults to use the parks, to exercise and socialize. Kiwanis & Bonaventure Meadows Parks

Southeast Idea # 4795 Clarke Road Movie Night A night to get together as a community and enjoy a movie. The movie can be picked at a later date with some input. Total Cost = $875 Movie License - $ 500; TVDSB Rental - $ 375 The goal of the movie night is to become a closer community and connect with more people. Clarke Road High School

Southeast Idea # 4954 Community Basketball Court in Grampian Woods Make the existing half court in Grampian Woods to a full sized court. Total Cost = $25,000 Extend to full court - $25,000 There is often kids waiting to play basketball at this park and are often not able to play, missing out on an opportunity to engage in an activity that builds relationships and confidence. A full court would bring the community together, encouraging residents to engage in an active lifestyle. Grampian Woods Online (all-day) or at your local library (10 am - 4 pm) For more info & to vote, visit: getinvolved.london.ca/ndm

Southeast Idea # 4866 F.D. Roosevelt Yard Enhancements Enhancing our school yard by adding wooden planters, concrete water fun, wooden mud kitchen, elevated log climbers, funnel ball, and soccer standards. All of the proposed additions would be accessible before, during, and after school, as well as during holidays, to staff, students, and community members. Total Cost = $17,400 Wooden Planters, Concrete Water Run, Wooden Mud Kitchen, Elevated Log Climbers, Funnel Ball, Soccer Standards - $17,400 This project will provide our school staff, students, and community members a purposeful space to plan and engage in developmentally-appropriate playbased learning. The planters will provide opportunities for authentic outdoor learning opportunities by providing a dedicated and appropriate space to plant different plants, fruits, and vegetables, and encourage individuals to make predictions and observe how these plants may grow, learn and extend upon their experiences, and enjoy eating the healthy fruits and vegetables they have grown. These features will be open for the surrounding community to enjoy. Franklin D. Roosevelt P.S

Southeast Idea # 1091 Fast Growing Shade trees in Meadowgate Park and Carroll Park Planting 10 trees in Caroll Park and 15 trees in Meadowgate Park. Total Cost = $37,500 25 trees - $37,500 These trees would provide shade for park users, and would make the parks more enjoyable. Carroll Park and Meadowlily Park

Southeast Idea # 4872 Fun Day at Westminster Park Fun Day in Westminster Park has become a very popular annual event and needs funding to obtain additional equipment to respond to participant needs in displaying their information, programs and products. Equipment and supplies needed include sun shade canopies, tables and chairs, extension cords etc. Total Cost = $5,250 Tables - $1,450; Chairs - $ 1,200; 4 Tents - $600; 2 Generators - $2,000 This annual event gives Westminster residents an opportunity to attend a free fun event in their neighbourhood with activities for the children and opportunities to get information about local agencies including fire, police, LTC bus, school bus and service clubs. It is also an opportunity to visit and become more familiar with the location and programs of both the Westminster Park Optimist Centre and the Westminster Family Center. Westminster Park

Southeast Idea # 4864 Grampian Woods Playground Improvements The idea is to replace the current outdated play equipment in the park along with adding some small play equipment (swings) for smaller children under 3 years old. A refresh of the basketball net and court would go a long way as well! Total Cost = $50,000 Basketball Court Refresh - $20,000; New Playground Equipment - $30,000 This court is desperately needed within this community to allow for people of all ages to engage in a sport they love. Too often, the east end is overlooked for these sorts of opportunities. Groups gather at courts similar to this proposed idea to establish friendships new friendships and build valuable life skills such as confi dence and team work. We ask that this opportunity be given to the people of this area so we are given a change to strengthen our community as a whole. This is a way to positively focus our energy and bring our community together. Grampian Woods

Southeast Idea # 4926 Heritage Park Baseball Field Improvements The addition of spectator seating at Heritage Park Baseball field. Total Cost = $15,000 Bleachers - $10,000; Concrete pad - $5,000 Improved baseball field will allow for these spaces to be easier to use, more accessible and safer for families. Heritage Park

Southeast Idea # 4787 Heritage Park Garbage Bin Heritage Park Garbage Bin Total Cost = $2,000 Garbage Can and Cement Pad - $2,000 Lets keep our park free of garbage all year long! A great way to do that would be to have a Garbage bin here permanently - all year long! Heritage Park Online (all-day) or at your local library (10 am - 4 pm) For more info & to vote, visit: getinvolved.london.ca/ndm

Southeast Idea # 1192 Log Benches in Meadowlilly Woods Installing more benches along the trails in the Meadowlilly Environmentally Sensitive Area. Total Cost = $4,000 3 Log Benches - $4,000 More people on the trails and staying longer than normal. If they can have a place to sit and relax for a few moments, or rest so they can continue, then they would use the trails more often. Meadowlily Woods

Southeast Idea # 4788 New Bench in Heritage Park Placing a bench along the path in Heritage Park Total Cost = $2,000 One Bench on Concrete Pad - $2,000 Let s update our current bench along the path in Heritage Park. It will make the park look cleaner and more inviting to sit under our big beautiful tree! Heritage Park Online (all-day) or at your local library (10 am - 4 pm) For more info & to vote, visit: getinvolved.london.ca/ndm

Southeast Idea # 4892 Outdoor Ice Rink in Summerside This proposal is for a multi-use pad that can be flooded in the winter for outdoor skating. Total Cost = $50,000 Multi-use Pad - $35,000; Accessible Pathway and Benches - $15,000 Installation of an ice skating pad would encourage more wintertime outdoor community activity for the growing population of Summerside subdivision. Because of the pre-existing sled-hills and the sizable areas of green-space, Carrol Park is an ideal space for an Ice Pad. Carroll Park

Southeast Idea # 4716 Primrose Court Playground Restoration Addition of more equipment to the playground, in particular slides, swings and monkey bars. Total Cost = $50,000 Playground Equipment and Circle - $50,000 A lot of children live here and they have very little to do. Adding more equipment will let more children play at one time. London Middlesex Housing Corporation, Primrose Court

Southeast Idea # 1121 Signage for Glen Cairn Park East 3 signs to entrances at Thompson Road & Helena Avenue, Shirl Street & Helena Avenue, and Arlington Crescent & Gladstone Street. Total Cost = $2,000 Signage - $2,000 Residents will know the community park partners and features of the park. Glen Cairn Park East Online (all-day) or at your local library (10 am - 4 pm) For more info & to vote, visit: getinvolved.london.ca/ndm

Southeast Idea # 4914 Walking in a Westminster Wonderland Signage placed at the entrances of Southdale & Adelaide, Parliament and the South Ponds on Pond Mills Road. Another sign would be placed to identify the Meeting Tree which is located closer to Parkwood Hospital. A geo-tag will allow users to identify where they are, utilizing their smart phones. Total Cost = $20,000 4 Interpretive Signs - $5,000 These signs will allow Londoners and new comers to identify trails, foliage, wildlife and educational information at access entrances. It will also include updated trail maps as to not confuse hikers. They will make the place look cleaner and more accessible. These signs will help develop our neighbourhood spirit. Westminster Ponds

Southeast Idea # 1096 Westminster Ponds Environmental Signage Better directional signage throughout the ponds, as well as environmental and species signage to help people learn about what lives in the ponds.
