Neighbour Communications. - NPWS Ranger located Goat Island Details In Site Copy - If required and deemed necessary due to direction of winds or uncontainable Fire or Spill that is deemed to be a potential hazard to local neighbours located adjacent to the western end of the Ship Yard, a door knock advisory action would be activated and leaflet drop would follow up advising the residents of the incident and status of the hazard.

8. Minimising Harm to Personal, Environment and Property In the event of an incident the emergency evacuation siren should be activated and all personal are to muster at the muster point on the main wharf behind the store. The supervisor or competent person is to retrieve the daily sign in sheets (Staff & Visitor) and check off all names. During this procedure the highest person in authority will activate the emergency plan and if required notify the relevant authority of the incident & request assistance.

Response Plans Fire & Explosion 1. Activate evacuation siren and raise alarm by verbal communication with any persons in the proximity of the alarm or fire. 2. Muster all staff & visitors at the muster area, retrieve the emergency incident response plan and sign in sheets located on the store bench and check off all names. 3. Call 000 4. Call Sydney Ports for assistance. - 02 9296 4000 5. Slipway supervisor to activate fire fighting hoses and equipment at a safe distance to prevent injury to personnel with selected staff members until Fire Brigade is on site. Remaining staff & visitors are to stay at muster point unless it is deemed unsafe and are then are to relocate to the floating pontoon furthest away from the incident, or a place deemed safe. 6. The emergency response plan is to be shown and discussed with the Fire Brigade / Police and Sydney Ports giving them all site plan information and any assistance required. The Manager of SSRE in conjunction with the highest ranking person of authority from the local emergency services body will notify neighbours and relevant government agencies. 7. Once emergency services are onsite and in control SSRE personnel & visitors will follow instructions from the body deemed to be in charge. 8. Once emergency is under control SSRE will fill out an incident report and look at the cause and investigate processes to prevent the incident re-occurring.

Spill 1. Activate evacuation siren and raise alarm by verbal communication with any persons in the proximity of the alarm or spill. 1a. If possible isolate the source of the spill to prevent a larger contamination area. 2. Muster all staff & visitors at the muster area, retrieve the emergency incident response plan and sign in sheets located on the store bench and check off all names. 2a. Slipway supervisor to activate spill and containment equipment with selected staff members ensuring the safety of staff and to prevent injury until emergency services are on site. Spill Kit Locations - Main Store entrance - On Main Wharf at Pontoon gangways - Shipwright Shed at Front of 20 ton slip 3. Call 000 4. Call Sydney Ports for assistance. - 02 9296 4000 5. Training - SSRE staff will undertake a six monthly simulated training on site using the emergency pollution response management plan. - All staff will be reminded about the plan and briefed on the requirements during and incident or evacuation during a monthly toolbox talk. - The Six monthly simulated training will be recorded in the Staff Training log.
