The College of Corridor Knowledge The SR 7 Collaborative owes it s beginning to a simple observation among a few Elected Officials stranded in an Airport several years ago and discussing how similar the challenges faced by their cities on the SR7 Corridor were. What they recognized as commomon among their cities as regards SR 7 was profound: Automobile Dealers, Restaurants, Retailers had all but moved-out entirely and the value of corridor properties was fast eroding jobs and neighborhood shopping were dissapearing at an alarming rate all-along the corridor! Regional investment was concentrated upon westward growth and it was agreed-something had to be done to plan for and encourage Community Redevelopment! An appeal for help was directed to the South Florida Regional Planning Council and the SR7 Collaborative was formed to help corridor communities plan and ACT collaborativelly for the future.
