Produt Information Benefits Vitoell 300-W/V, EVIA/EVIB Tehnial Data Hygieni, onvenient and eonomial DHW heating with DHW tanks made from stainless steel vertial version Benefits at a glane: Corrosion-resistant tank of high-grade stainless steel offers a long servie life. Fully hygieni due to high quality homogeneous stainless steel surfaes. The high-alloy material is immune to raking or peeling. The tank stays hygieni and requires only minimum servie. Does not require a onsumable anode for orrosion protetion. The entire water ontent is heated by a e in. (35 mm) pipe diameter (OD) stainless steel heat exhanger surfae whih extends to the bottom of the tank. The positioning of the tubular heat exhanger oil further ensures that 8 to 97% of the tank volume an be drawn at onstant water temperature. The stainless steel heat exhanger oil is selfventing towards the top and self-draining towards the bottom, therefore not suseptible to redued heat transfer due to air lok or deposits. Universally suitable for appliations requiring larger quantities of hot water, multiple vertial tanks an be ombined via headers to form tank batteries. Standby losses minimized by highly effetive foam up to f in. (68 mm) thik. 9 USG (450 L) version omes equipped with removable soft PET insulation for easier handling. Vitoell 300-W/V, EVIA/EVIB Tehnial Data System Design Guidelines (ontinued) Produt Installation Sensor wells for 4 USG (60 L) to 79 USG (300 L) tanks The installed sensor wells are to be used for ontrol sensors to ensure maximum operational safety. For solar heating systems, Viessmann reommends plaement of the DHW tank temperature sensor in the solar olletor return. This requires a brass elbow with the sensor well (see page 9). WARNING To ensure optimum, safe operation, the stainless steel well must be used. The well diameter is large enough to aommodate a wide variety of sensing bulbs. Always use spring lip to ensure proper ontat of apillary bulb against the stainless steel well for proper sensing/heat transfer! Sensor lamps for 9 USG (450 L) tank Sensor lamps are supplied with the tank. Heating water supply temperature over 30ºF (0ºC) For these operating onditions, an approved high limit must be installed to limit the domesti hot water temperature to 03 F (95 C) in the tank. Reirulation tapping The reirulation tapping is on a separate tapping (see pages 8 and 9). Cap this opening if the tank is not installed with reirulation. Bakflow preventers Where bakflow preventers are required, a domesti water expansion tank installation is reommended in the old water inlet piping before the old water enters the Vitoell. For the bakflow devie, observe loal plumbing odes and regulations. Tempering valve Ensure that temperature tempering valve(s) is installed if the domesti hot water storage tank temperature exeeds 40 F (60 C) to protet from salding. Consult plumbing odes and authorities for loal requirements. Installation of additional aquastat(s) WARNING In a multiple-tank installation, it is reommended that an additional high limit temperature devie be installed in the ommon domesti hot water supply header to the system. This safety devie should be wired in series to the operating ontrol of the tank battery. The setting on this additional high limit temperature devie should be approximately 9 F (5 C) higher than the operating high limit. Temperature and pressure relief valve A 50 psi temperature and pressure relief valve (T&P relief valve) is supplied with the tank. The heating ontrator must install the valve on eah tank in a method meeting ode requirements. If loal odes require a different relief valve, substitute the manufaturer s supplied valve. Maximum operating pressure is 50 psig. The T&P relief valve supplied with the tank is tested under ANSI Z. Code for Relief Valves and Automati Gas Shut-off Devies for Hot Water Supply Systems. If the produt has been improperly installed or misapplied by the installer, ontrator or final user, Viessmann aepts no responsibility for damage howsoever aused and reserves the right to withdraw the produt warranty. In order to qualify for produt warranty, strit adherene to the installation and servie manuals must be observed. In the event that omponents not approved by Viessmann are utilized, Viessmann reserves the right to withdraw all expressed or implied warranties without written notie. The water to be heated with the Vitoell must be drinking (potable) water quality. If the tank is used to heat other media, the warranty will be null and void. Damage resulting from exessive pressure or temperature is learly not the responsibility of Viessmann. The amount of hloride and sulfate aeptable to the tank is limited.
