To conduct an effective and organized planning process that includes timely opportunities for the participation of all stakeholders and supports the City Council s decision making at every project milestone. 2. Take full advantage of the opportunity to masterplan this large property to build the City s tax base and create an attractive, cohesive neighborhood, efficiently served by public infrastructure and enhanced by an interconnected, multi-purpose open space system. Very Important Points to Remember: These sketches are VERY preliminary. They are subject to significant change based on many factors, including development costs and economic feasibility You are being invited to participate in the design process, not comment on a proposed plan We are not at that point yet
Points to Remember (cont.) The City is considering an amendment to its Comprehensive Plan not reviewing a development application. There are many steps between now and then When a property owner subdivides their land the City can require that a portion of the land be dedicated for park. The amount of land that the City can acquire is based on a formula in its ordinance. That park dedication ordinance formula is based on the types and number of housing units. If the City chooses to plan for more park any additional land would need to be paid for through other sources
