4 OPERATING LIGHTS: marled V-series marled V-series Outstanding LED light of the latest generation Mechanical design Lighting system The support arm system ensures unlimited mobility and creates a large, > 360 stop-free action radius and extensive adjustability for height. The use of light materials such as aluminum minimizes weights and torques and increases operating convenience as a result. The light head comes with several handles for easy and safe positioning, plus a sensotouch control panel for non-sterile control of all light functions. The hygiene requirements for fast and reliable disinfection of the light head are satisfied by a closed housing with smooth surfaces and soft transitions in form. Thanks to its laminar flow-optimized design and structure, the light is excellently suited for use under laminar-flow ceiling panels. High-performance LEDs of different chromaticities are used as a basis for illumination of the surgical site. The special arrangement of the light engines inside the light head ensures shadow-free illumination while providing deep-cavity light at the same time. Computer-calculated lens systems enable color shadow-free illumination of either small or large surgical sites, as required. The LED light generated consists of visible light only, without any infrared content. The unique VariLUX function allows variation of the field geometry as circular or oval light fields can be created to match the form of the surgical site. The color temperature can be preset according to the surgeon s preferences. The large number of single LEDs ensures almost 100 percent failure safety, with the additional benefit of an extremely long life of the light sources. 4

5 Operation All operating functions can be controlled via an intuitive, easy-to-use touch panel provided on the cardan joint of the light. Besides, the sensogrip multifunctional central handle gives surgeons control of all parameters with surgical relevance. Brightness control and light field adjustment are fully electronic, no mechanical components involved. The currently used settings are displayed on the novel, dynamic ErgoScreen graphical display of the touch panel. High-precision positioning of the light head is ensured in any surgical situation, thanks to integrated handle elements providing access from all sides. Light field adjustment is possible in two ways: non-sterile via the control panel, and sterile via the sensogrip multifunctional central handle. Optional equipment Touch-sensitive KLS Martin pilot laser system for precise positioning of the center of the light field. KLS Martin camera system surgicam for the highest demands on image quality and resolution, with optional network compatibility for digital transmission of video, audio and control signals. The system can be optionally installed either directly in the center of the light or on a separate video support arm. 5

48 OPERATING LIGHTS MARLED : Accessories Camera integrated into light head Cameras for marled Camera system for medical requirements, intended for (live) transmission of surgical procedures. The camera is installed in the center of the light head within the sterilizable handle. This ensures the simultaneous positioning of the light and the camera. In this version, the image rotation and zoom functions can be controlled directly on the light head equipped with the camera. The separate martouch control unit allowing external control of all camera functions is optionally available for the camera. In this version, the signal is transmitted via slip rings, no stops involved. This allows rotation exceeding 360. Item no.
