2 Planning Guide. The beauty of ergonomics Ergonomics is the trend, just like elegantly simple handle-free furniture fronts. Grass Senso - tronic supports both of these trends. Drawers, pull-outs and interior pull-outs open and close in response to a gentle tap. They move different loads of up to 70 kg uniformly open and shut at the set speed. This assistance in the kitchen is particularly helpful when you consider that stored items are accessed up to 10,000 times a year. And the drawers think with you: they sense resistance and stop, avoid collisions amongst themselves and protect against nip injuries. Intelligence moves. And yet it s so simple. 4 System Description Drawer. The cabinet member Each cabinet member is equipped with a drive which determines the speed profile and the opening length. In addition, the drive reacts to blockages, pressure, pulling, etc. Lengths range from NL 270 to 650 mm. From nominal length 400 mm upwards, cabinet members can bear a load of 70kg. The screw positions remain the same as for the standard Nova Pro cabinet member. As the drive is fitted to the rear end of the cabinet member, an additional installation depth of 79 mm is required. Inside cabinet depth: nominal length + 79 mm. The depth of the left and righthand cabinet members can be adjusted on the respective cabinet member in order to achieve properly aligned fronts The drive shaft The drive shaft synchronises the left-hand with the right-hand cabinet member. The rigid connection ensures perfect side stability even in the case of wide pull-outs. If necessary, the drive shaft can be cut to size for special widths. Drive sleeves must be ordered separately. The wiring Vertical cable Every drawer requires a vertical cable to supply power to the cabinet member drive. It connects a power supply unit and / or distributor with the first cabinet member and each cabinet member with the next within a cabinet. Horizontal cable A horizontal cable connects one cabinet with the next. It starts from the power supply unit and runs to the adjacent distributors, then on to the next distributor in each cabinet. Power cord The power cord is available with the respective plug type for the country in which it is to be used and is approx. 2 m in length. 4

5 System Description Elektronics. The power supply unit The power supply unit is required to supply Sensotronic with power. It contains the busmaster and thus the system intelligence. For up to 22 drawers (without lighting) or 15 drawers (with lighting), you will only need one power supply unit. If you wish to use more drawers, you will need another unit. To prevent a noticeable drop in power, the greatest distance between the power supply unit and any one cabinet member should not exceed 5 metres. An installation height (must be installed in an upright position) of 23 cm is to be envisaged. The power supply unit can be used worldwide. Only the power cord has to be ordered for the specific country. The distributor You will need one distributor in each cabinet where there is no power supply unit. The distributor is used on the one hand to serve all the cabinet members in the cabinet and on the other to connect the horizontal cable to the next cabinet / distributor. The dongle Once the kitchen has been installed, the system has to be configured. Configuration turns the standard kitchen into a convenient and intelligent kitchen. The dongle is required for this operation. It is a kind of electronic key which is provided with every kitchen and which tells the busmaster that the configuration is being performed is plugged into a vacant slot in the horizontal wiring (power supply unit or distributor) during this operation and then removed again afterwards makes configuration possible for anyone (also after moving house) 5

6 The Planning. Notes for cabinet planning Provide switchable power outlets (e.g. to allow the user to switch the system off when going on holiday or cleaning the drawers). Required inside cabinet depth: NL + 79 mm (see range overview for plannable slide lengths) Use Sensotronic for modern furniture planning and incorporate fronts which are flush with the cabinet sides. Determine the depth of the cabinet sides on the basis of the front thickness used and the largest front gap defined for the cabinet. Front gap with Sensotronic To ensure reliable activation when opening the drawer by tapping, an activation distance of 3 mm is required. This gives a front gap (space between drawer front and front edge of cabinet) of 3 mm. The activation zone encompasses the full width of the front. Depending on the stability of the pull-out and/or the rigidity of the front, it will be possible to tap at different heights with a front gap of this size. Front buffers will enlarge the front gap. The drawer The screw positions of the cabinet member are the same as on the standard Nova Pro cabinet member. Special applications where there is resistance for either the opening or closing operation cannot be used with the standard software (e.g. waste disposal pullouts with lift-up lid, some plinth drawers, backward sloping slides, etc.). 7 Notes on the electronics The power supply unit The power supply unit should be placed near a power outlet (power cord length approx. 2 m). It can be used worldwide. Only the power cord must be ordered for the specific country. Please note the range of the power supply unit of approx. 5 m and the number of cabinet members which can be connected (see System Description). If separate cabinet blocks are planned (e.g. cooker island), one power supply unit per cabinet block is recommended. For safety reasons, the power supply unit must not be fitted beneath a sink. An installation height (must be fitted upright) of 23 cm is to be provided. Mains connection: Voltage supply: V Mains frequency: 50 / 60 Hz Max. output: 240 W Other notes Neither the drawer nor the cabinet member is energized. All live parts are fully enclosed and inaccessible. In the event of a power outage, the drawers can be opened and closed conventionally.
