Therefore, follow instructions carefully. Comply with the following instructions when installing the Spray-gun washer: Insert the discharge hose (pos. 16, fig. 1) into the hole on top of the Spray-gun washer and put it in upright position for at least 1 meter; connect it to the outside of the workshop. If the outlet hole is over 2 metres away, it is recommended that you use a 12 cm diameter galvanized iron pipe (no plastic) with the elbow as distant as possible from the Spray-gun washer (see figure AS). Example: if the outlet hose is 5 metres long, at least 3-4 metres should be vertical, and 2-1 metres horizontal. Avoid putting 1 metre vertical and 4 metres horizontal. Connect the gun feeding hose (pos. 4 fig.1) to the fitting (pos. 10 fig.1). Connect the brush with the hose to the fitting (pos. 22C fig. 1). Connect the filtered air feeding hose to the fitting (pos. 12 fig.1), through at least an 8 mm hole. It is recommended that you use a fast-on air inlet fitting, to facilitate periodical lubrication (3-4 times yearly) with oil for nebulizers. Connect the external ground cable (pos. 74 fig.1) to the workshop system. Install the flow regulator valve (pos.23r fig. 1) to the water inlet valve (pos. 23C fig.1) and connect it to the water mains. 14 Figure AS

Put the sheet to be sprayed on the back of the grill top (pos. 6C fig.1). Open the valve (pos.17 fig.1) to exhaust vapours. Make the colour test by discontinuously spraying the paint. WARNING ENSURE that dirty paint water inside the sink (pos. 2 fig.1) does not exceed the level of the grill top (pos. 6C fig.1). 7. SEPARATING THE PAINT FROM WATER. Follow the instructions below: Remove the grill top (pos. 6C fig.1) from the sink, remove the hose (pos. 29S fig.1) with the filter (pos. 29F fig. 1) from the water and place it next to the support (pos.g fig.3); pour the coagulating powder in the dirty paint water and stir manually with a stirrer until the powder has been absorbed. Open and adjust the air flow regulator (pos. 1 fig.1), and avoid water overflowing from the sink. After 8 10 minutes of stirring, stop the flow and ensure that the paint is well coagulated. If this is not the case, repeat the procedure. Open again the regulator (pos. 1 fig.1) and, while water and coagulated paint are in motion, open the discharge valve (pos. 30 fig.1) and let all the content out in the prefilter bag (pos. 50 fig.1): proceed slowly to avoid any overflows. Open entirely the water regulating valve (pos. 23R fig.1), open the valve (pos. 18C fig.1) and use the brush (pos. 36 fig.1) to rinse the washing sink (pos. 2 fig.1). After filtering water, put the prefilter with the sludge in an external container ready to have it collected by a water disposal company. The water in the container (pos. 53 fig.1) can be reused. Before starting to operate the Spray-gun washer, use the brush (pos. 36 fig.1) to pour approx. 10 litres of water in the washing sink (pos. 2 fig.1) and approx. 30 litres in the container (pos. 53 fig1). Put filter (pos. 29F fig. 1) inside the washing sink (pos. 2 fig. 1). Re-position the grill top (pos. 6C fig.1). N.B. : For an ideal coagulation, do not add water and paint with other products (ex. solvents, detergents, additives, etc) in the washing sink (pos.2 fig.1) 17

Figure OPERATION. Incoming compressed air flows through filter (1), feeds valve (2) and ball valves (3-4), flow regulator (5), timer (6), throttling valve (8) and blowing gun (24). When open, valve (2) feeds blowing nozzle (9). When open, valve (3), because of the Venturi effect, enables the small pump (10). When open, valve (4), because of the Venturi effect, enables atomiser (11); both suck clean water from container (12). When running water is connected to fitting (13); valve (25) has been adjusted and valve (14) is open, water runs from brush (15). Once the timer has been loaded, valve (6) feeds continuous motor (16) which generates the strokes to the diaphragm pump (17) that sucks water from tank (18) and sprays it to the automatic washing (18). When flow regulator (5) is open, this feeds mixer (20). When ball valve (21) opens, it discharges water and the coagulating powder into container (12). 19

20 10. SAFETY DEVICES. SPRAY-GUN WASHER INOX LINE AQUA Mod. ILA WARNING The following devices must never be tampered with or excluded from operation. They must always be kept in perfect working order. Vapour suction valve (pos.17 fig.1). Keep the hatch closed (pos.5c fig.1) while the automatic washing cycle is on. Earth cable connection supplied (pos.74 fig.1). 11. MAINTENANCE AND PERIODICAL CHECKS. The following ordinary maintenance procedures must be performed. Extraordinary maintenance (repair of basic machine components) must be carried out by qualified personnel only, according to the instructions contained in this manual. Disconnect the air when making repairs or maintenance. In case of failure of any control components on the upper control panel, remove cover (pos. 46 fig. 1) to access inside the hood for repairing or replacing. Once this operation has been completed, to improve fume intake, it is mandatory that you close the inspection hole by means of the cover. Periodically check the integrity and functionality of the safety devices. Safety devices must never be tampered with or removed. The labels (pictograms) on the Spray-gun washer provide information to the operator to avoid accidents. These labels must be kept clean and must be replaced if even partially damaged or detached. Use of the Spray-gun washer is forbidden if even only one of the labels is missing from the point where it was placed by the manufacturer. Use always original spare parts during repair work and maintenance. Make sure that the machine is always connected to the ground wire. Lubricate the compressed air system 3-4 times per year as follows: Disconnect the air supply at the air inlet fitting (pos.12 fig.1) and pour two spoonful of oil for nebulizers into the same fitting. Clean the grill top (pos.6c fig. 1), the swing hatch (pos. 5C fig.1) removing any incrustations. Inspect and clean the air inlet filter inside the fitting (pos. 12 fig. 1) if possible without disassembling the fitting. Clean the water inlet filter (pos.29f fig.1). Ensure that the water level in the washing sink (pos. 2 fig.1) does not exceed the level of the grill top (pos. 6C fig.1). Check that hoses (pos fig.1) are not bent, worn or broken and are well inserted in the container (pos. 53 fig.1) Clean and rinse the washing sink (pos. 2 fig.1), after draining dirty water from it. Replace the prefilter (pos. W50 fig.1) after each filtration. Clean and, if needed, replace the prefilter bag (pos.w51 fig.1). Check that the pump strokes (pos. 32 fig.1) are per minute. After every 350 working hours it is mandatory that you: - Dismantle and clean all nozzles (pos. T fig. 3) inside the washer. - Clean the inside of the diaphragm pump (pos. 32 fig.1), carefully in order not to scratch the protection inside the pump. To access the inside of the pump, remove the screws (pos.53 fig. PA) and the cover (pos.52 fig.pa), leaving untouched the body pump (pos.45 fig.pa) fixed to the machine. 20

21 11.1 TROUBLES WITH THE DIAPHRAGM PUMP. Make sure incoming air pressure is at least 6 bar. Disconnect the pump air feeding hose and with the timer on, check that the compressed air is exiting. Ensure that the pump rotates steadily at strokes per minute. If not, adjust the adjusting screw PA 56 as necessary. If the pump does not prime and no detergent is delivered, check that the filter (pos.29f fig.1) is clean, there is no water, and at least 10 litres of detergent inside the sink (pos.2 fig.1). If the pump speed is set at strokes per minute and no detergent is delivered, check that the inlet ball PA 41 is not stuck to its seat. If so, gently hit the inlet valve body PA38-40 with a small hammer while the pump is in operation. If the ball does not move from its seat, dismantle the filter (pos. 29F fig.1) and blow inside with compressed air, or blow and hit simultaneously. If the pump (pos.32 fig.1) strokes are irregular, lubricate the valve PA 54: disconnect air from the inlet fitting (pos.12 fig.1), pour nebulizer oil into the same fitting, reconnect air and enable the timer (pos.14 fig.1). If the pump (pos.32 fig.1) speed is too high or low, turn the screw PA 56 in clockwise direction. If detergent comes out of the valve silencer PA 57, then the membranes PA 48 and 49 are broken. Replace the membranes and the complete valve PA INSUFFICIENT VAPOUR EXHAUST. Make sure incoming air pressure is at least 6 bar. Check that the discharge hose (pos. 16 fig. 1) is perfectly upright for at least 1 meter with the same diameter, free from obstructions or poorly made connections. Dismantle and clean the air inlet filter placed inside the fitting (pos. 12 fig.1). Dismantle the nozzle (pos. 15 fig.1) and check that the hole is clean. Make sure that the cover (pos. 46 fig.1) is closing appropriately the inspection hole. 21
