Remanufacturing the HP Color LaserJet 5500/ 5550 The HP Color LaserJet 5500 was released back in November 2002, as the replacement for the HP Color LaserJet 8500 and The Color LaserJet 5500 is based on a similar engine as the Color LaserJet 4600 only wider to accommodate the A3 paper this tabloid printer handles. While the HP Color LaserJet 8550 printer series was based around a multipass engine that could print 24ppm in monochrome and only 6ppm color. The Color LaserJet 5500 was a little slower when printing monochrome, 21ppm but it could also print 21ppm in color. When HP released the HP5550 they increased the overall print speed to 27ppm for both monochrome and color. The toner cartridges for the HP Color LaserJet 5500 are similar in design as the HP 4600 and the remanufacturing procedures are similar as well. The black cartridge (C9730A) yields 13,000 pages at 5% and sells for $ while the cyan cartridge (C9731A), yellow cartridge (C9731A), and the magenta cartridge (C9733A) yield 12,000 pages and sells for $ info@futuregraphicsllc.com Website:
