1. Understanding the ATMOX System Thank you for purchasing the ATMOX Controlled Ventilation System for your crawlspace. This section covers the basics of the ATMOX system for a homeowner once the system has been installed. This manual covers the ATMOX EZ System, both EZ 100 and EZ 150. This manual also covers the ATMOX EZ 100S and EZ 150S System. (Note: EZ 100S and 150S Systems are the same as the EZ 100 and EZ 150 but have the option of connecting to a battery and green energy source. All references to EZ 100 or EZ 150 also encompass the EZ 100S and EZ 150S.) 1.1 Operating Principle ATMOX EZ System Control Box mounted on attached Power Supply Crawlspaces need dry and proper ventilation. The goal of ATMOX is simple reduce the moisture and humidity level in your crawlspace. The basic principle of how it works is also simple. Ventilate with good air from the outside only when it will improve the conditions in the crawlspace. Using sensors, ATMOX measures dew point inside and outside your crawlspace to determine when the fans or dehumidifier should run. The fans allow for natural air circulation into the crawlspace. Once installed properly, the ATMOX System will operate on its own and automatically. The system will adjust for seasonal changes as needed. There is no need to manually make any changes to the system. Page 2 of 29

1.2 Control Buttons ATMOX Systems have four control buttons to control the system, adjust system from defaults and test hardware attached to the system. From these buttons you can manually turn the fans on and off, change quickly between default information screens, and get to any of the three setup parameter menus. The and Buttons are used for accessing parameter menus and changing values. Once installed, you will rarely need to use these buttons. Each time you push the button, the system will switch between default displays. If the system is in one of its setup menus tapping this button will allow you to scroll through the setup menu. The button serves two functions. It returns out of a custom menu. It starts a manual key stroke sequence that will manually start and stop the fans. 1.3 Alarms and Notifications The ATMOX Controller has an alarm light to notify you of any problems. The alarm could be an indication of hardware that is not working correctly, such as a defective or missing sensor. The alarm is also there to show when there is a potential problem in the crawlspace. Depending on the alarm issue, the alarm light will either be a flashing red light or a solid red light. By tapping the button several times, you can scroll through the display and the system will tell you what the problem is. High Humidity Alarm The goal of the High Humidity Alert alarm is to let you know that the humidity level within the crawlspace is above a preset limit. Red Alarm Light Page 4 of 29

The humidity alarm setting is defaulted to the off position, so it may not be active on your system. This feature can be turned on to alert you anytime the crawlspace exceeds a set internal relative humidity level. It can be set anywhere between 73-98%, in increments of 5%. See Section for alarm settings. Note: It is not recommended to set this alarm setting below a relative humidity level of 88%. The alarm may trigger on and off too often if set lower. Temperatures and humidity levels in crawlspaces can swing a great deal from day-to-day weather conditions. Even if the alarm goes off for short periods of time, it does not mean you have a problem as fluctuation is normal. However, if you have the humidity alarm set at 88% and the alarm is consistently triggered, then the setup of the ATMOX system should be reviewed. In this case, contact ATMOX or your installer to check on your crawlspace and see if a dehumidifier needs to be added to the system. While the ATMOX EZ system cannot incorporate the use of a dehumidifier, it is possible to upgrade the ATMOX EZ system to an ATMOX Flex system if a dehumidifier is desired. The power supply and fans used would be the same. Contact ATMOX for more information. 1.4 Maintenance As mentioned before, the operation of the ATMOX system is completely automatic and no action or adjustments are required once installed. Controls Of course, the ATMOX system cannot run without electrical power. You should periodically check that the system has power (the LCD display will be on). In the case of a power outage, the system will reset and restart itself. If the system is set on a GFCI outlet and the outlet trips for any reason, the GFCI usually has to be manually pushed to reset. Fans It is also encouraged that the fans be kept reasonably clean. Depending on where external fans are located and the landscaping around them, they can get full of debris, particularly intake fans. Just check to make sure landscaping materials are not clogging any fans. They can be cleaned off by just sweeping with broom or blowing with a leaf blower. You should also periodically check that all of the fans are running properly. You can manually turn the fans on and just walk around the perimeter of the house to make sure that they are active. How to turn the fans on manually is described in the next section. Page 5 of 29

1.5 Manual Operation of Fans The following describes how to start or stop the fans manually by overriding the automatic controls of the ATMOX system. Press the buttons as described below. To start the fans manually: To stop the fans manually: Note: After tapping the return arrow, the manual light should be lit before you tap the + or keys. The system will return to automatic in one of three ways: After 24 hours the system resets automatically. If you unplug the system or the power is reset, the system restarts in automatic. If you input the same start/stop command a second time in a row, it will reset to automatic. 1.6 Frequently Asked Questions When will the fans run? Basically, the ATMOX system will activate the fans to run when the dew point calculated by the outside sensor is lower than the dew point calculated by the inside sensor. The fans will not run continuously as the system just wants to make sure that you get several exchanges of air flow through the crawlspace. There can be some variations to this in the case of extreme temperature and weather conditions. Will the fans running cause too much cold air to be brought in during the winter? The system adjusts for Summer and Winter ventilation modes. The fans will not bring outside air into the crawlspace below a set temperature setting during the winter. It is raining outside and the fans are running. What is wrong? The answer is probably nothing. You have to trust the system even when it doesn t seem intuitive. The fans will be activated by dew point and not humidity levels. If a cold front comes through (even with rain), it is possible that the colder air will have a lower dew point than what is in the crawlspace. The air with the lower dew point will be beneficial to the crawlspace. I have question, who should I contact? Contact your local installer first as they will have more information about the specifics of your home and system. For any additional information or questions, contact ATMOX by phone at or at info@atmox.com. Page 6 of 29

2. Planning for Installation As you prepare for the installation of your ATMOX System, you will need to determine where you will place your components and fans. The system can be adapted to various crawlspaces so placement can be customized for your setup. The goal of the fan placement is to create a cross circulation of air throughout the entire crawlspace. You will want to keep intake fans on one side and exhaust fans on the other side to pull and push air across. Depending on your crawlspace, it may be advantageous to close or block other vent openings to keep air from escaping without pushing through the entire area. We are happy to provide any assistance needed with layout suggestions. Just or fax us a sketch of your crawlspace. 2.1 Things to Consider in Layout Intake fans should not be placed under a deck or porch, which are often sources of high moisture. Intake fans should not be installed within 10 feet of a horizontal HVAC gas chimney or a gas meter. Openings under a deck should either be closed off or if necessary used as an exhaust side. Intake fans should not be installed in the vicinity of the outside HVAC compressor. This could pull in the hot air from around the compressor. Ideally, an intake fan should not be put in an underground vent well as it will collect too much debris. Try to exhaust the air from the area that has the worst moisture problem, which is normally the shallow side. If there is no worst spot, exhaust on the side of the house where the outside compressor(s) of the HVAC is (are) located. Always establish a cross air circulation. Fans only work to dry out the crawlspace if enough air can flow across all areas of the crawlspace. Page 7 of 29

2.2 CFM Calculation Tool In order to determine how many fans will be needed, the following table gives a simplified calculation to achieve approximately 4 air exchanges per hour. (It is recommended to have between 4-6 air exchanges per hour.) Cubic Feet of Crawlspace = (Square footage times average height) Multiply above number by 0.07 Total CFM of Exhaust Fans Needed = Divide number by CFM of fan selected to determine number of exhaust fans needs Total Quantity of Exhaust Fans Needed: = Total Quantity of Intake Fans Needed: = If Exhaust Fan Quantity is 1-2, then Intake Fan Quantity should be equal to Exhaust Fan Quantity. If Exhaust Fan Quantity is 3+, then Intake Fan Quantity should be no less than Exhaust Fan Quantity minus 1. Quantity of Dead Space Fans needed will be determined by layout of crawlspace. Look for any areas that would not get a cross circulation of air. Total Dead Space Fans: = 2.3 Other suggestions for Crawlspaces We highly recommend that the crawlspace has a vapor barrier. It should be a 6 mil plastic covering at least 90% of the soil throughout the crawlspace. Keep shrubs back at least one foot from the wall. Make sure that rainwater and downspouts from gutters can flow away from the house. Avoid excessive water from a sprinkler system that can contribute to moisture in the crawlspace. Make sure the condensate from your HVAC air-handler is pumped or gravity drained at least 4 feet away from house (same for any other HVAC air-handler in the attic, or a service pack right outside the crawlspace). 10 3. Material and Tools 3.1 Hardware shipped with each EZ System Controls and Sensors: Control Box (Shows Display) with Power Supply attached Inside and outside combination climate sensors (RH and Temp). Four 20ft extension wires with couplers for inside and outside sensors to reach location needed 3.2 ATMOX Fans The ATMOX EZ system only runs in conjunction with the ATMOX DC-Powered Fans. For details on the available ATMOX Fans, please refer to information on latest fan specification sheet. ATMOX will provide the necessary snap splices and wire connectors to connect with the low voltage cable. The EZ system can be used with any combination of the ATMOX DC-Powered Fans. The maximum number of fans will depend on the fan being used. The ATMOX EZ 100 can power up to 100 Watts. The ATMOX EZ 150 can power up to 150 Watts. Check the specification sheet on the ATMOX DC- Powered Fans to determine the usage rate of each fan. 3.3 Low Voltage Cable The EZ system uses a low voltage cable to either be purchased from ATMOX or a local hardware store. (This is the same type of wire used in landscape lighting.) The low voltage cable must be 14 gauge. ATMOX will provide the necessary red and black banana plugs. The length needed will depend on the distance from the control box to the fan locations. There is a limit to how far DC current will travel without a considerable loss in voltage. If the circuit is more than 100 feet long, then we recommend splitting it into a Y configuration. 3.4 Power Supply Booster (Optional) If the usage rate of the fans needed exceeds the 150 Watts of power available from the ATMOX EZ System, then an optional power supply booster can be used in conjunction with the system. To add power booster to the EZ system, see detailed installation instructions that are supplied with the power booster. 3.5 Tools Needed Wire staple gun or nailing clamps for control wiring and wires of the sensors. General tools including: Flashlight or floodlight Assortment of screws (best to use Philips head) and plastic anchors. Drill Screwdrivers Pliers Page 9 of 29

4. Installing the Fans 4.1 Safety Instructions Do not use ATMOX fans to exhaust or intake hazardous or explosive materials or vapors. When you service and clean the fans, make sure the fans are disconnected. 4.2 Mounting Fans Installation will vary by fan and somewhat by size and opening available in the crawlspace. Please see specific information in the ATMOX Fan Specification Sheet relevant for the fan that you are installing. 4.3 Using DC Power Supply on EZ Control Box for Fan Installation The low voltage wiring for connecting the fans is generally run through the crawlspace. Wire 12VDC Location of box If crawlspace is very shallow or not even accessible then the wiring can be run from the outside as well. If running wire from the outside, the cable can easily be brought behind the fan at a corner of the grill. Steps for hooking up fans to low voltage cable The DC-Powered Fans will receive their power from the gray ATMOX Power Supply attached to the ATMOX EZ Controller. 1. Use a low voltage 14 gauge cable. 2. Connect the red and black banana plugs to the end of the cable a. On one end of wire, pull the two strips apart about 2-3 inches down. b. Strip the ends of the wire to prepare them for banana plugs. c. From the cable, select the wire with the grooves on the side. Use this as the negative (-) side. Mount the black banana plug on this side. Page 10 of 29

d. Use the cable with the markings (----) as the positive (+) side. Mount the red banana plug on this side. e. The banana plugs mount by inserting the cable and then tightening the screw on the back until it holds tight. f. Note: These plugs are already mounted on the wire if purchased from ATMOX. Also, if you purchase cable on your own and the markings are different, it doesn t matter as long as you are consistent with a positive and negative side. g. The jacks for the banana clips are color-coded on the power supply. They should only be connected AFTER the wires are all hooked up to the fans. 3. Inside the crawlspace begin pulling the wire through the crawlspace going around to all the locations where the fans will be located. To keep the wire out of the way and off the ground, staple the wire or use nailing clips to secure the wire to the joists. Leave extra slack at each fan location to work with the cable. 4. At the fan location, separate/split the 14 gauge cable in the middle for about 6 inches. Use a knife to split the wire. 5. Take the fan wire that is provided. Strip 1 inch of wire insulation from fan connector wire and twist it back onto itself over the insulation on each side. Page 11 of 29

6. Mount the yellow banana clips (provided). Note: Depending on fan type, there are new different types of fan connector wires. Fan information will indicate which jack is to be used. If you are using different types of fans with two different wire connectors, they will be labeled. For fans using 2.1mm Connector Jack: a. Take your negative (-) wire (with the grooves) on low voltage cable and insert into the banana clip so that it goes completely through the clip. Then take the fan wire and take the cable with the white on it and insert into the banana clip so that it is on the side that goes halfway through. Take pliers to push the metal down into the wire. Then close up the cover on the clip. b. Take the positive (+) wire (with the markings -----) on low voltage cable and repeat the same step as (a) using the fan wire cable that does not have the white on it For fans using 2.5mm Connector Jack: a. Take your negative (-) wire (with the grooves) on low voltage cable and insert into the banana clip so that it goes completely through the clip. Then take the fan wire and take the cable that is smooth and insert into the banana clip so that it is on the side that goes halfway through. Take pliers to push the metal down into the wire. Then close up the cover on the clip. b. Take the positive (+) wire (with the markings -----) on low voltage cable and repeat the same step as (a) using the fan wire cable that has the groove on it 7. Plug the coax cable from the fan wire into the jack on the back of the DC fan 8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for each fan. 9. Test the fans to make sure that they are all working properly. Fans can be tested by manually starting fans as described in Section 1.6. Once running, check to see if all of the fans have started. If there are fan issues, see troubleshooting section of manual. 14 5. Installing the Sensors 5.1 General Instructions Since all crawlspaces are different in size, the inside and outside climate sensor come with a cable and separate extension wire so that you can best place the sensors. The extra or slack wire should be tied up to keep it out of the way. 5.2 Combination Climate Sensors (Temp/RH) The inside sensor is supplied with a 6 foot cable, a black mounting bracket and a coupler for the wire extension. The extension length will depend on the distance from the sensor to the Control Box. Extension wires with couplers are included. Place the inside sensor in a location where it is away from any heat sources, outside walls or an HVAC unit or anything else in your crawlspace that can give inaccurate readings of the general conditions in the crawlspace. The distance can be up to 40 ft from the control box. You will need two screws to mount the bracket to a joist. This also serves as a tensioning device for keeping the sensor in place. If the screws are too tight, it might be difficult to snap the sensor into place. If it does not go in easily, try to loosen the screws of the bracket. The outside sensor is supplied with a 6 foot cable, a black mounting bracket, an outside cover and a coupler for the wire extension. The extension length will also depend on the distance from the sensor to the Control Box. Extension wires with couplers are included. The inside and outside sensors are identical. The distance can be up to 40 ft from the control box. The outside sensor should ideally be placed on the east or north side of the house, away from direct sun light. The cover will help to keep water from staying on the sensor. The sensor can get wet, but it can be damaged from pressure washing or being sprayed with chemicals or paint. If the outside sensor can only be placed in a direct sunlight setting, please see Section to make an adjustment in the settings to account for the excessive heat on the outside sensor. Page 13 of 29

5.3 Using the Crimper Tool All sensors and wires shipped by ATMOX will have already been crimped with jacks. The RJ11 crimper tool will only be needed to install the sensors if extension wire supplied is not long enough. It can be purchased from ATMOX or if you purchase your own, it should be similar to this. Steps for crimping the wires for sensors: 1. Use the wire cutter to cut the desired length with a flush end. 2. Use the stripper to remove the outer sheath of the cable to a standard working length. Hold the crimper tool in your right hand with the tools side facing you. Then place the cable into the stripper section on the right side until it is stopped by the black plastic block. This gives you the proper length to strip your cable. 3. Take your jack and align the wires so the black wire is on the left side when placing the cable into the RJ jack with the gold contacts on the jack facing up. 4. Place RJ jack (with cable inside) into the plug holder and press firmly on the handles to secure the cable to the RJ plugs to crimp it. Page 14 of 29

5.4 How to Wire the Extensions to the Sensors Sensor RJ 11 RJ 11 RJ 11: for Combination sensors Connection (extensions) with straight through couplers: At coupler only RJ11 jacks are used. Crimp the jack that goes into the coupler the same way as the extension wire that was shipped to you. You will always crimp the extension wire to have the black on your left with gold contacts on top. All line couplers used to connect or extend sensor cables cannot get wet or be exposed to condensation. It is important that any of the couplers are inside the crawlspace and protected from the elements. Do not use the crimper on any lines plugged into a system with power. If you make a mistake, the system will let you know after you plug the sensors in. The alarm will flash and provide you a message on the screen. The sensor should not be damaged from a wiring mistake. Page 15 of 29

6. Installing the Controls 6.1 Controls for EZ System The controls for the EZ system can be plugged into any outlet in the house but must be in a location that low voltage cable and sensor wires can be fed to the control box. In most cases, it is the easiest to mount the control box in the entrance to the crawlspace. The control box can be mounted in a garage or closet in the house for viewing but then the wires will need be fed up to it. NOTE: Do not power controls until Section 8 when everything else is in place. 6.2 Sensors Sensors should be mounted as described in Section 5. All the extension wires should be brought to the Control Box location. Climate Sensors: The inside sensor plugs into the jack marked Inside and the outside sensor plugs into the jack marked Outside. 7. Electrical Connection and Connecting to Battery from Green Energy Source Electrical Connection 120 Volt The entire system only needs up to 150 Watts of power and can be plugged into an existing outlet. The system will require this outlet even if using optional battery as described below. Battery Connection from Green Energy Source (Optional for EZ 100S and 150S Systems Only) The ATMOX EZ 100S and EZ 150S System has the option to be powered almost entirely from a green energy source, which would most likely be solar panels although any source that can charge a battery would work. The system can be connected to a 12V battery (or set of batteries) that will run the DC fans as long as the battery output is higher than VDC. If the battery voltage is lower, the system automatically switches back to the 12V power supply inside the gray control box. The control box and its cooling fan are always connected to the power supply and are using only a few ma. The basic premise is to charge the battery during the days when the sun is shining with solar panels. Such panels (minimum 60W) are now readily available and come with a trickle charger that is connected to the battery. No expensive inverter is needed, since the whole system is based on 12VDC as the basic nominal voltage. The battery needs to be stored in a safe and dry location within 20 feet of the control box and power supply. Follow instructions from your battery and solar panels carefully with regard to placement and storage for proper environment. Page 16 of 29

The ATMOX EZ 100S and 150S systems will function with or without any battery and no adjustments are needed to the controls. Battery plugs directly into the Power Supply box with connector cord that ATMOX will supply free of charge upon request. The control screen has the following indicators to monitor power to the fans: First bar indicates Power Supply only being used. (No battery connected) (This is the screen that will always be seen in the EZ 100 and EZ 150 Systems. It also seen in the EZ 100S and 150S Systems if battery not connected.) Second bar indicates battery is connected but not charged enough for operation. (Screen for EZ 100S and EZ 150S Systems Only) Third bar indicates the fans are running from the battery. (Screen for EZ 100S and 150S Systems Only) Once the battery is depleted (down to VDC) the system switches to power supply and then waits two hours before trying to reconnect with the battery. The battery size and the capacity of the solar panels should be tailored to the number of fans and the geographic location of the house. Our suggestions for battery needs are: Number of Fans Watts/Amp Connected Battery Size Solar Panel Size (Amp-Hours) 6 60W/2.1A ~24 Ah min 60W 8 80W/2.8A ~34 Ah min 80W Page 17 of 29

8. Starting the System 8.1 Powering Up System The EZ System will start automatically when you plug the power supply into an electrical outlet. During the time the system is booting up, the alarm light will flash. The alarm should go away within about 20 seconds. The system will not start the fans with an alarm. The software in the system comes with preloaded parameters. These parameters are detailed in Section 10. If you have any questions or believe you need to make an adjustment, please contact us for detailed instructions on changing parameters or settings other than those described in this manual. 8.2 Viewing Information Details of information on display screen are outlined in Section Checking the System 9.1 System Checklist Once the system is installed, it is recommended to go through this checklist to make sure that everything is working properly. a. Alarms If there are any alarms, such as not reading Inside/Outside Sensor Missing, please see Section 11 for Troubleshooting. b. Manually Check Fans Check that all the fans are operational. By manually turning fans on as described in Section 10.3, you can activate the fans. Once manually turned on, physically check to make sure each fan is running. Once complete, set fans back to the automatic mode. For any problems encountered, see Section 11 for Troubleshooting. 9.2 Custom Setup While there are several optional custom setup options, it is generally recommended to leave most settings at the factory installed settings. However, the following setting should be reviewed. Humidity Alert Choose whether or not you want to have the humidity alert option. The default option is OFF. If desired, it needs to be activated. See Section Page 18 of 29

10. ATMOX Software Information The software in the ATMOX System is setup with default settings for most houses in the United States. Regardless of your ATMOX setup and configuration, generally no custom settings are necessary nor are they recommended. This section of the manual provides an overview of the software and display information. Additionally, it covers adjustment parameters that could be used when applicable. Please contact ATMOX INC before making any custom adjustments in your controller Display Information The ATMOX Controller auto rotates between five standard information screens. 21 10.2 Control Buttons ATMOX Systems have four control buttons to control the system, adjust system from defaults and test hardware attached to the system. From these buttons you can manually turn the fans on and off, change quickly between default information screens, and get to any of the three setup parameter menus. The + button is for manually starting the fans, starting the first parameter menu section and changing values in the parameter menus. The - button is for manually stopping the fans, starting the second parameter menu section and changing values in the parameter menus. Each time you push the M button, the system will switch between default displays. If the system is in one of its setup menus tapping this button will allow you to scroll through the setup menu. The Return Arrow button serves two functions. It returns out of a custom menu. It starts a manual key stroke sequence that will manually start and stop the fans. Holding the M and the Return Arrow for several seconds at the same time will open the third parameter window. Page 20 of 29

10.3 Manual Operation of Fans To start the fans manually: To stop the fans manually: Note: After tapping the return arrow, the manual light should be lit before you tap the + or keys. The system will return to automatic in one of three ways: After 24 hours the system resets automatically. If you unplug the system or the power is reset in restarts in automatic. If you input the same start/stop command a second time in a row, it will reset to automatic Energy Saving Features You will notice that when the ATMOX system is in automatic it may not respond as quickly as you would consider normal. The ATMOX system is designed with a time delay when switching operations. This stops the system from changing too quickly and using excessive power due to surging power on and off of the components. It may take as long as 45 minutes to completely switch from a certain mode to another Accessing and Adjusting the + Menu The + Menu A. The first menu is accessed by tapping the button one time. B. Transitioning to each setting in the menu is done by tapping the once each time. C. If you pass a setting you want to change keep tapping the and it will return in a loop to the setting that you want to change. D. To change settings use the and buttons to change the value. E. Once you have made any adjustments tap the to go back to the default screens. Page 21 of 29

The Summer/Winter Mode and Fahrenheit/Celsius Adjustment The Su/Wi screen displays what season the system is operating in and if it is displaying Fahrenheit or Celsius. The system automatically adjusts between Summer and Winter Mode so there is generally no reason to adjust this. The system can be forced into the other season mode. The ATMOX System default is set to display Temperature and Dew Point in Fahrenheit. This can be changed to Celsius if desired. Tap the to change season Tap the + to change temperature measurement display The No Ventilation Temperature Setting The NO VENTILATION screen controls the minimum temperature the system will ventilate in. In a Summer Mode, it measures the temperature from the inside sensor. In a Winter mode, it measures the minimum temperature on the outside sensor. This setting has a range of degrees F. The default setting is No Ventilation if below 45 degrees F Summer and Winter Mode Transition The next three screens adjust the settings that allow the system to automatically transition between Summer and Winter modes. Winter Limit Setting: For the system to switch to the Winter Mode, the temperature cannot exceed the set temperature for the number of days set by the transient period. The default setting is 50 degrees F and has a range of degrees F. Summer Limit Setting: For the system to switch to the Summer Mode, the temperature must exceed the set temperature for the number of days set by the transient period. The default setting is 59 degrees F and has a range of degrees F. Transient Period is the number of consecutive days the system has to exceed or not go above to switch modes. The default is 3 days and can be set between 0 and 5 days. Use the + or Keys to adjust the settings. Page 22 of 29

NOTE: If you set the transient period to 0 days the system will not automatically change seasons and you must manually change the season in the Su/Wi screen Humidity Alarm Setting The humidity alarm setting is defaulted to the off position. This feature can be turned on to alert you anytime the crawlspace exceeds a set internal relative humidity level. It can be set anywhere between 73-98%, in increments of 5%. Contact ATMOX for more information Accessing and adjusting - menu setup parameters The - Menu A. The first panel is accessed by tapping the button one time. B. Transitioning to each setting in the menu is done by tapping the once each time. C. If you pass a setting you want to change keep tapping the and it will return in a loop to the setting you want to change. D. To change settings use the and buttons to change the value. E. Once you have made any adjustments tap the to go back to the default screens. Page 23 of 29

Summer Ventilation Temperature This screen sets the spread at which the system runs between the inside and outside temperature in the Summer mode. The default setting you see on the screen is O < I Less than -30.0F. This means at its default setting, the fans will not run if the outside temperature is greater than 30 degrees F over the internal temperature. This setting has a range from 50 degrees F to -50 degrees F. A scenario in which you may what to change this is if you have an outside sensor in the sun, and the black finish of the sensor excessively heats the sensor giving a higher than normal reading. In this case, you may want to change the setting to -50 degrees F. Another scenario is if you are located in the Midwestern United States where you often have very dry hot air in the summer outside. This setting can help to avoid too much hot air under the house heating the structure excessively. If you set the setting to 0 degrees F the system will not run with outside air until the inside temperature is equal to or greater than the outside temperature Winter Ventilation Temperature This screen sets the spread at which the system runs between the inside and outside temperature in the Winter mode. This works basically like the Summer mode, but it reverses for winter temperatures. The default setting you see on the screen is O > I Less than -10.0F. This means at its default setting the outside temperature for the fans to run cannot be more than 10 degrees F under the internal temperature. This setting has a range from 50 degrees F to -50 degrees F Summer Dew Point This setting is for the difference desired in dew point to start ventilation when the system is in a Summer mode. The default setting is 1 degree F and it has a range of -18 degrees F to 18 degrees F. So with a setting of 1 degree F it will not start ventilating with outside air until the dew point is at least 1 degree F lower than the inside. Page 24 of 29

Winter Dew Point This setting is the same as the Summer Dew Point setting but is for when the system is in the Winter mode. The default setting is 1.5 degrees F and has a range of -18 degrees F to 18 degrees F. As with the summer mode, the default winter setting will not start ventilating until the dew point is at least 1.5 degrees F lower. If you find that your house and crawlspace are drying out excessively in the winter months, you can set this number to a negative number and if in a proper range the system will hydrate a house. Note: This can be dangerous if set too high in the wrong climate Sensor Adjustment Screens There are 2 sensor adjustment screens. These settings are only used when calibrating the sensors. If a sensor needs adjusting, it will have the values written on the side of the sensor. The values can then be programmed here into these screens. Note: This would already be completed prior to shipment and should generally not be done by a customer. Page 25 of 29

10.7 Accessing and Adjusting the SETUP menu parameters The SETUP Menu A. The first panel is accessed by tapping and holding down the button. The manual light should now be on. B. Now while holding down the Return Arrow button, press and hold down the button at the same time for 5-10 seconds. C. Once you are in this menu, it should read SETUP Recall Factory Setup. D. Use the button to scroll through the options. E. If you pass a setting you want to change, keep tapping the and it will return in a loop through all the settings. F. To change settings, use the and buttons to change the value. G. Once you have made any adjustments, tap the to go back to the default screens Resetting the System to Factory Defaults The system can easily be reset to all of its factory default settings. To do this, go to the first screen in this menu. When it reads SETUP Recall Factory Setup, tap the button one time and you should see SETUP. To confirm, press. Tapping will then reset everything and it will go back to the SETUP Recall Factory Setup. All default values have been restored to original settings SETUP Diagnostic The SETUP diagnostics screen is not used in the ATMOX EZ system. This setting should remain off. Page 26 of 29

SETUP LCD Contrast You can adjust the contrast of the LCD Display Screen if it is difficult to read. You can use or to darken or lighten the display Freeze Warning The system has a default freeze warning of 34 degrees F. This can be manually adjusted from a range between 32 degrees F and 50 degrees F. If the internal temperature reaches the set freeze warning amount, then it overrides all other programming to discontinue use of all fans. The purpose of this is to avoid excessive cold air being actively brought into the crawlspace during extreme winter temperatures Crisis Mode Crisis mode is a very special function of the ATMOX System. Due to the dynamics of the air in a crawlspace, this mode expands the operational limits with the outside air to improve the conditions in the crawlspace. By using this greater air range, the system tries to use the warmer outside air to heat the crawlspace and dissipate cold buildup due to A/C ducting. This happens if the system is within operational limit parameters and the crisis trigger point has been exceeded. The Crisis Mode is triggered anytime the inside humidity reaches 90% or higher. There are 4 set points for the Crisis mode: Off, On Delta T 0.0 Degrees F, On Delta T 2.0 Degrees F and On Delta T 4.0 Degrees F. The calculation and comparison of conditions to activate fans under Crisis mode is fairly complicated. The default setting of Delta T to 0.0 Degrees F provides the greatest range for fan operation under Crisis Mode. Page 27 of 29

11. Trouble Shooting 11.1 Alarm Errors Inside/Outside Sensor Missing Check to see if sensor is connected and plugged in properly. Make sure the jacks are properly crimped if you did any of this yourself (don't forget to check the two jacks at the couplers) (Convention of wires is important; all black wires on the left.) It is very rare for a sensor to get damaged during shipping and/or installation. If this happens, the sensor would have to be replaced. Check couplers for any signs of corrosion No Alarm Errors but Manual Check of Fans Not Starting Make sure the coax extension cable is connected with the proper polarity to the low voltage cable. If checking these items does not solve the problem, please contact us at for assistance. Page 28 of 29
