3 GENERAL NOTES Situation Packington Moor Farm has excellent national road access via the M42, A38 and A5. From the main A5 dual carriageway roundabout at Weeford pick up the old road and continue approximately ½ a mile towards Tamworth and at the crown of the hill turn left at Church Hill into Flats Lane signed Whittington (follow the brown Packington Moor Farm Shop signs). Continue up the lane over the new dual carriageway with Packington Moor Farm lying on the left after approximately ½ a mile. From the centre of Lichfield pick up the A51 towards Tamworth and travel over the A38 and after 2 ½ miles pass Whittington Barracks on the left. At the end of the houses turn right into Jerry s Lane (follow the brown Packington Moor Farm Shop signs). Continue up the lane for approximately ¾ mile with Packington Moor Farm lying on the right. To the Sale and Car Park signs will be erected on the morning of the sale. Please refer to the location map within the catalogue. Car Park - As sign posted on the sale day. Commission Bids The Auctioneers will be pleased to execute written commission bids on behalf of persons unable to attend the sale. 5 VENDORS FOREWORD-MRS ROSEMARY BARNES The dispersal sale in November brings to an end 31 years of farm retailing here at Packington Moor, although sales at the door stretch back many years previously to this with Mrs. Alice Barnes sales of live laying poultry and eggs dating back to the 1950s. The whole diverse business has evolved from PYO which started in 1977, opening the first farm shop in 1986 to 2009 when we moved the Farm Shop and Café onto the present site. The business has grown year on year despite the threat of HS2, which has been a factor in our lives since March, Having gained Royal Assent in February the HS2 Rail Project is very much a reality hence the closure of the Farm Shop on 23rd September, and subsequently the Oat Barn Wedding Venue in December, AUCTIONEERS FOREWORD This genuine dispersal detailed above by Mrs Rosemary Barnes arises as a result of the closure of the farm shop and café due to the HS2 rail project. There is a superb range of well maintained equipment for genuine sale with various specialist catering items etc to be auctioned. Purchasers should note that VAT will be payable on many of the lots and there is viewing available prior to sale day. Attendance is thoroughly recommended at this genuine event.
