3 5 Thread milk line through hole in the robot wall. 6 Thread milk line through bracket to milk line hook up. After you hook up milk line and close door, make sure to press flashing blue safety light on the robot wall to reset robot. 7 Insert milk line here and return to the office computer. 4 Starting Sampling at the Office Computer Click Google Chrome to see this screen. If you are prompted for user name and password, enter: Tafel1#poot amsuser User Name Password Select Milk 8 sampling Click Start milk 9 sampling Boumatic Robot Sampler Page 4

5 Say what? The term tray on the Boumatic robot refers to sampler. Click Automatic mode 11 to unpause robot Add 10 Click Add and you will be prompted for a tray number (i.e. 1, 2, etc.). Enter the stall number to see the status screen. 6 Changing the Fill Time 1 Double-click Service 2 Click Milk sampling Sample time will vary depending upon hose length, how level floor is, 3 etc. Set time accordingly equals 36 seconds Boumatic Robot Sampler Page 6

7 Obtaining a Second Sample Double-click 1 Cow settings 2 Use arrows to find your cow. This is also a good way to ensure all cows are set to one sample per cow. Change milk sampling from One sample to 3 Every milking Once resampling is done, reverse steps to set back to One Sample Per Cow Boumatic Robot Sampler Page 7

8 To Stop Sampling Pause robot and 1 click Box id 2 Remove Tray Remove Tray Click Shut to open milk sampling value. Enter robot and 3 remove milk line. After closing robot door, remember to press button to stop blue light on robot wall from flashing. Boumatic Robot Sampler Page 8

10 Cleaning the Shuttle The Lely shuttle is cleaned using these 3 routine cycles: rinse, soapy wash cycle, final acid rinse (if available) Items Required Rubber gloves Vasoline to lubricate the cylinders Liquid detergent or bootwash Diluted acid solution if available cc syringe Extra boot pail with long brush or a clean sink 1. Rinse Cycle: Disconnect shuttle from robot and rinse milk hose, spoon and outside of shuttle with a spray hose. 2. Half-fill boot pail with very warm water and add Leminee boot wash or dishwashing soap. PLEASE NOTE: If an on-farm acid wash is available, use AFTER using Leminee bootwash. 3. Use the syringe to force soapy wash water through milk hose and fill the spoon. (A syringe that can screw onto the milk hose works best.) Move syringe in and out to force water and air into the milk hose. If you discover a pinhole leak, replace the hose, repair it, or cut it shorter. 4. Leave the milk hose and spoon full of solution. Remove the empty syringe and put the end of the milk hose into the top of the spoon to soak the milk hose. Soaking will help get rid of milkstone build-up which can sour the next milk samples taken. 5. Drain soapy water from the hose and spoon. Use boot brush to wash entire shuttle and cover with wash solution. Note: edges of the shuttles can be very sharp so a long brush should be used to prevent injuries. 6. Using a brush, wash rack inside the boot pail or sink. Use a flask brush to clean the middle part of rack. After shuttle is washed and rinsed, remove the end of the milk hose from the spoon and thoroughly rinse out the acid wash solution if it was used. 7. Disconnect the milk hose from the spoon and drain all water. Blow out water from the milk hose manually to dry it. Ensuring the hose is dried is important as any remaining water could freeze on route in winter, and bacteria could grow in summer months. 8. Disassemble the spoon and hand-wash with a brush either in a sink or in the boot pail. Be careful not to lose the O ring and gasket. 9. Once cleaned and rinsed, reassemble the spoon making sure not to over-tighten (always leave it slightly loose). Boumatic Robot Sampler Page 10
