12 ENDLESS GLASS DOOR MERCHANDISERS BEM/BEL SERIES Endless Glass Door Merchandisers With 16 basic modules in medium and low temp, endless merchandisers are designed to fit most any space. They can be used as stand-alone models or combined for a continuous line up. Endless merchandisers are available with either a remote or self-contained refrigeration system depending on sales space requirements. BEM/BEL models with remote systems reduce heat and noise on the sales floor and are usually preferred in areas where roof installation is not an issue. Endless BEM/BEL-SC models offer a selfcontained refrigeration system for quick and easy installation in areas where space is limited and roof access isn't practical. 10

Highly efficient, longer lasting LED lighting enhances product appearance to its fullest. 12

15 Refrigeration System Options Models with either self-contained or remote systems available EC fan motors are up to 65% more efficient than standard motors and introduce less heat inside the cold space Flexible refrigerant line-sets included on self-contained models for easier installation Remote refrigeration systems include a condensing unit with all necessary components supplied for installation including a solenoid valve. On selfcontained models, the condensing unit is covered with a sound dampening fiberglass mat. 62 QUICK SHIP WALK-INS Quick Ship Refrigeration Options Quick Ship refrigeration system choices include remote M-Series systems or PRS-2 packaged systems with standard and heavy-duty options. Remote systems consist of an M-Series condensing unit ranging from 1/4 to 6 HP and an E-Series evaporator coil. Pre-wired condensing unit components are factory assembled on a galvanized steel base. E-Series coils are ready to mount and are available in off-cycle defrost for coolers and electric defrost for freezers. PRS-2 Series refrigeration systems consist of a condensing unit and evaporator coil in the same housing and are ready to mount in the ceiling. The evaporator section mounts flush in a standard 4" thick panel for maximum storage space. PRS-2 units help reduce labor costs because there s no piping or other components to field install. On most indoor models, a standard condensate evaporator pan eliminates the need for a drain line (shipped loose on PHHZ0100 models). Remote refrigeration systems include an M-Series condensing unit in standard or heavy-duty model with matching E-Series evaporator coil. 60

Structures typically arrive on a gooseneck truck and, depending on size and customer preference, lifted into place by crane, boom-lift or forklift. No field assembly is necessary. The refrigeration system(s) is already installed and the entire walk-in is fully tested before shipping. All you have to do is provide electricity for the single source hook-up (one per refrigeration system). Foamed-In-Place Panel Construction Master-Bilt pour type foamed-in-place wall and floor panels are offered in 4", 5" and 6" thicknesses of rigid urethane insulation with a 97% closed cell content to prevent moisture absorption. We use the same cam-lock panel connectors as in our smaller walk-ins for fast, easy assembly and leakage resistant panel-to-panel seams. 66

Roof covering options, for example, include aluminum, galvalume, flat membrane and sloped membrane with several methods of indoor and outdoor roof suspension. Other options include metal facades, sliding and lift doors, vinyl strip curtains and dock weather seals. Refrigeration Master-Bilt offers remote refrigeration systems ranging from 1 /2 H.P. to 40 H.P. These systems are either air or water cooled and come in six temperature ranges from +55 to -20 F. 70 MASTER-CHILL SERIES MASTER-CHILL Roll-In & Pass-Thru Blast Chillers Poor cooling techniques are a major cause of foodborne illness. To avoid contamination, food must be cooled through the danger zone of 140 F to 40 F in less than four hours. Master-Chill MCR-33 models can blast through this range in as little as 80 minutes depending on food density, input temperature and refrigeration size. This rapid chilling also retains food quality, extends shelf life and saves labor by reducing food preparation time. A standard microprocessor control unit with LED readouts provides continuous and accurate temperature monitoring. The internal food temperature is detected by probes so you know for sure when food is out of the danger zone. Master-Chill MCR-33 models are equipped with flush-mounted walk-in style doors. 68

These units offer the widest variety of component options and factory pre-assembly. Package options on the basic standard remote unit include a factory pre-charged system with quick-connect liquid and suction line sets up to 50 ft. M-Series units vary from 1 /4 to 15 HP with a wide selection of temperature ranges. Each is also furnished standard with a properly sized expansion valve and room thermostat. Energy efficient EC motors are standard on single phase coils. Electric defrost models feature defrost termination/fan delay controls and drain line heaters. A pre-mounted solenoid at the evaporator is available as an option. 72

81 GPS Series Glycol Parallel Rack Refrigeration Systems Master-Bilt GPS series parallel glycol rack systems use the most efficient combination of refrigeration system and glycol loop technology to cool refrigeration equipment in foodservice and retail environments. GPS series glycol systems utilize electronic floating head pressure technology to reduce energy consumption by as much as 25% over conventional mechanically controlled glycol systems. 84 MASTER CONTROLLER REVERSE CYCLE DEFROST Optional Master Controller Reverse Cycle Defrost For Walk-ins The Master Controller Reverse Cycle Defrost (MCRCD) system is a custom-designed eletronic controller for Master-Bilt walk-in cooler and freezer refrigeration systems. The Master Controller board, mounted on an evaporator, controls an electric expansion valve in response to evaporator superheat and return air temperature. Integrated reverse cycle defrost completely removes frost build-up in coils and works much faster than electric defrost heaters. The MCRCD system also has built-in Demand The Master Controller Reverse Cycle Defrost System saves up to 27% more energy than traditional mechanical systems. 82

85 Defrost which initiates reverse cycle defrosts only as needed, allowing more energy savings. MCRCD is part of a Master-Bilt refrigeration system which also includes a remote condensing unit and one or more evaporator coils. Reverse Cycle Defrost Eliminate inefficient defrost methods with this patented (U.S. patent no. 7,073,344) process from Master-Bilt. Reverse cycle defrost, works by means of a reverse cycle valve added to the condensing unit. The valve's function is to reverse the direction of refrigerant flow during defrost. When the Master Controller s demand defrost determines a defrost is necessary, the reverse cycle valve is activated and the high temperature refrigerant flow is reversed. The refrigerant flows back through the evaporator coil heating it along its entire length and completely eliminating frost build-up. Reverse cycle technology offers several significant advantages over the electric defrost method: The process uses less energy than electric defrost heaters. Reverse cycle reduces defrost energy usage by up to 80%. Reverse cycle eliminates not only the need for defrost heaters, but also head pressure control MASTER CONTROLLER REVERSE CYCLE DEFROST 83

Defrost time is also greatly shortened. The average time using electric defrost heaters is minutes. Reverse cycle can perform a completely clean defrost in as little as 3 to 5 minutes in a freezer or 1 1 /2 to 2 minutes in a cooler. Reverse Cycle Defrost reverses the direction of refrigerant flow for a quick and clean defrost. 84
