4 Model: RT-5 Cooking Controller Cooking Controller buttons and functions This section describes how to operate the Cooking Controller. Power Switch Cooking Controller Hand-Held Temperature Probe 2

5 Cooking Controller Model: RT Cooking Controller buttons and functions This section describes the basic function of each button on the controller. Used to display Times, Temperatures and other various messages. Used f setting and display Cooking and Holding Temperature. Used f setting and display Cooking and Holding Time. Used to select menus Used f starting and stopping a menu (Cooking Cycle). Used to increase Time and Temperature. Also used to rotate the internal spits when the do is open. Used to decrease Time and Temperature. Also used to activate the Hand-Held Temperature Probe (when do is open). 3

6 Model: RT-5 Cooking Controller Setting and running a Manual Menu This section describes how to set and run a Manual Menu (A Non-Programmed Menu). The Manual Menu controls Cooking Temperature, Holding Temperature, and. The Manual Menu program will not be saved once the power is turned off. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Power On Press to begin setting Cooking Temp After pressing you have 5 seconds to proceed to the next step the controller will return to the idle state. Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Press to Adjust Cooking Temperature Cooking Temp is displayed Press to begin setting Holding Temp After adjusting you have 5 seconds to proceed to Step 7 the controller will return to the idle state. After pressing you have 5 seconds to proceed to Step 9 the controller will return to the idle state. Step 9 Press to Adjust Holding Temperature Step 10 Holding Temp is displayed Step 11 Press to begin setting Step 12 Press to Adjust After adjusting you have 5 seconds to proceed to Step 11 the controller will return to the idle state. After pressing you have 5 seconds to proceed to Step 12 the controller will return to the idle state. Continued next page 4

RT-5 begins Pre- Heating and the Spit Wheel begins rotating then displays the actual temperature inside the RT-5 until Pre-Heated Unit is now ready f product Step 17 Step 18 Step 19 Step 20 Load Product See Section f loading Spits. Press to Start begins counting down At the end of the, the unit cycles to the Holding Temperature See Section f loading Baskets Step 21 Step 22 Step 23 Step 24 Holding Time begins counting. Open Do and Unload Product. (Note: When the do is open the Holding Time will pause.) Press to end the Manual Menu. (Note: if not pressed when the Do is closed the Holding Time will continue. Power may be turned off the Manual Menu may be re-started 5

8 Model: RT-5 Cooking Controller Programming a Programmed Menu This section describes how to program a Programmed Menu into the Cooking Controller. A programmed Menu contains Cooking Temperature, Holding Temperature and. The Menu is saved in the Controller, even when the unit is turned off. This function is useful when cooking various products at different cooking temperatures and times.. You may program up to 10 Programmed Menus in the RT-5. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Power On Press to begin programming Press to find menu 1-10 to program Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Press to select menu Press to begin setting Cooking Temperature Press to adjust Cooking Temperature Press to begin setting Holding Temperature After pressing you have 5 seconds to proceed to the next step the controller will return to the idle state. After adjusting you have 5 seconds to proceed to the next step the controller will return to the idle state. After pressing you have 5 seconds to proceed to the next step the controller will return to the idle state. Step 9 Press to Adjust Holding Temperature Step 10 Press to begin setting Step 11 Press to Adjust Step 12 Press to save the program to the menu After adjusting you have 5 seconds to proceed to the next step the controller will return to the idle state. After pressing you have 5 seconds to proceed to the next step the controller will return to the idle state. 6

9 Cooking Controller Model: RT Running a Programmed Menu This section describes how to run a Programmed Menu. If you have not programmed a menu please see Section Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Power On Press Step 4 Press to find menu 1-10 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Press to Start Pre-Heat When Press to Start At the end of the, the unit cycles to the Holding Temp. RT-5 begins Pre- Heating and the Spit Wheel begins rotating Open Do and Load Product Step 9 Holding Time begins counting. Step 10 Step 11 Open Do and Unload Product. (Note: When the do is open the Holding Time will pause.) Press to end the Menu. (Note: if not pressed when the Do is closed the Holding Time will continue. 7

10 Model: RT-5 Cooking Controller Cancelling a Manual Programmed Menu This section describes how to cancel a Manual Programmed Menu. Step 1 Step 2 During a Cooking Cycle, Press and Hold f 3 seconds. Program has been cancelled Viewing actual temperature in Rotisserie This section describes how to view the actual temperature in the Rotisserie. Step 1 Step 2 During a Cooking Cycle, Press and Hold. After 3 seconds the Actual Temperature is displayed until Temp Button is released 8

11 Cooking Controller Model: RT Using the Hand-Held Temperature Probe This section describes how to use the Hand-Held Temperature Probe. The Probe is used to check the internal temperature of the product being cooked. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 The Rotisserie do must be open to enable the Probe Temp mode. Press Step 4 Step 5 Insert Probe into Product Internal Temperature is display Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Remove Probe from Product The Jog button may be used to manually rotate the Spits Baskets while the do is open. Close the Rotisserie do. If running a Menu the will resume. 9
