It s a novel WACKER silicone system for in-house production of dimensionally accurate, reusable vacuum bags. Used in the cost-effective production of fiber composite parts by the infusion and prepreg processes, vacuum bags facilitate the evacuation of the composites mold. ELASTOSIL C Prototypes High-volume prototype production requires products with very good flow, excellent self-release properties and good vulcanizate transparency. ELASTOSIL M enables you to meet these demanding requirements, and ensures cost-effective production. Applications Prototypes Moldmaking Membranes Membranes play a central role in vehicle air-circulation systems because they regulate the different air flows. To obtain fully functional parts, the production process should be utterly reliable. WACKER s self-adhesive ELASTOSIL LR liquid silicone rubber enables one-step production of the entire membrane, i.e. silicone and thermoplastic part, and also guarantees reliable performance for the membrane s lifetime. Instead of condensing to droplets, the moist air forms an extremely thin, continuous water film on the glass surfaces that does not scatter light. As a result, glass surfaces such as car windows and eyeglasses do not fog up, and optimum visibility is assured. After the last wash cycle, they are sprayed onto the wet car as highly diluted solutions to repel water and protect the car paintwork without silicone buildup. In rinse-off agents, they speed up drying times by causing the water film to tear spontaneously. They also leave an attractive sheen and form a protective layer on the clean paintwork. 20 Optimum Tear Strength for Automotive Hoses Turbocharger Hoses To perform as well as gasoline-fuelled cars, diesel vehicles need a turbocharger. If the turbocharger hose contains modern silicones, it will deliver the required performance with ease. When a car is being driven, the turbocharger hose is constantly being subjected to massive pressure differences, temperature fluctuations and mechanical vibration. Optimum tear resistance of the hose is guaranteed by heat-curing ELASTOSIL silicone rubber (HTV) in a composite bond with polyaramide woven fabric. Radiator Hoses Radiator hoses have to operate reliably over a wide temperature range.
